I bought a one way flight ticket from a ticket agent through ethihad airline for 468500 naira from Lagos to Orlando Florida with 2 stop overs in abudabi and Dublin for 10th of August flight date on Monday and I was called by the agent today that the airline won't take me to Orlando Florida except if I bought return ticket. My money was refunded to me and I lost 28000 naira I had to look for a cheaper airline to New York since I couldn't get to Florida and I paid 387000 naira through air maroc for 7th of August flight date. 1 Like |

ecoleco: You are right bro. As a matter of fact, I did a rigorous search on other online travel agencies and wakanow had the best deal. I settled for Qatar to Chicago for a little over 478k for 10th. I was wondering whether its possible to go to New York, then take a train to Chicago...? Would that be cheaper? I have a friend that is yet to purchase her ticket and the info would help her decide 1 Like |

Tundephish: Post your transcript and get tips. Don't keep it to yourself. Even if the advise you would be given doesn't help you, it would help someone else, which is why you would come here tomorrow and not see this thread dried up. Post your transcript bro. It's well. 1 Like |

MrChillz: Lol. So maroc is that bad? It is the only airline in that range for that date. The next is Turkish and its over 500k. But then @ Olarich30 air maroc for 7th Aug is about 360, 500 on travelstart and would be about 358k on wakanow. Wherever you paid 387k, you should really avoid there in future. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by Mayflowa(m): 5:04pm On Jul 27, 2017 |
Ability247: No train to Chicago except you using bus, greyhound. You will need to book online on time to make it cheaper. You also have to consider taxi fare in JFK to greyhound station too. It all depends on how much difference is the flight fare. |

olarich30: You should not have any business with these agent people. If you went throught the rigors of US admission, paid all the fees, WES, SEVIS, VISA and all, you shouldn't find it difficult booking your flight yourself. The agents barely save you any money cos you have to pay for the flight and pay them as well. Safe trip on 7th August. Remember travel script 1 Like |

Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by ecoleco: 5:12pm On Jul 27, 2017 |
Ability247: Check Amtrak, Greyhound and Megabus. It should be cheaper but also consider the luggage and the stress. New York to Chicago is quite a distance. |

Glurssymum: The VO did his job well for not giving you guys, albeit this is a sad news for you. You guys seem to be living a good life here in Nigeria. You and your husband are Engineers, with good job while where you are going is going to make your husband depend on you by US immigration law. So how does a Mechanical Engineer stay 2 to 3 years depending on his wife without access to personal earnings. Of course, he is going to become rusty! To make matter worse, u going to school where you have all your families. Why didn't just name one distance family alone. There are just sometimes you have to withold some infos. You lack home ties. Everything points to your vanishing into America without looking back. You see why you won't give the visa to yourself if you were the VO. It's good you applying alone now. It seems to wanna change a good career. Why don't you say MSc would give you a career edge in your job place. That it's easier to get into the management circle with a Master in your workplace and u think you ready to take on managerial responsibility. That shows a kind of home ties to your job. Your husband can join you give two to three months you are there. It's easy for him to tell the VO he misses his wife, you guys are young couple and want to visit before coming back to his job in Nigeria. The reason for F2 is to make sure he can visit you anytime for as long as you are student. The VOs hardly deny spouses going to see their student partners. Goodluck on your next interview 7 Likes |

Good evening all. I'm a silent reader but I've learned a lot from here so it's only appropriate to drop my transcript. My appointment was for 6:30am Walter Carrington, Lagos. I was interviewed at window 5 by a young lady. She was had a lot of question and was attentive to response Visa Approved V.O: Good morning and How are you? Me: Good morning. I'm good and You? V.O: Your i20 amd passport please Me: passed it to her V.O: where are you going to ? Me: I'm going to Middle Tennessee State University V.O : For what Program? Me: For my Masters in Business Administration V.O: What did you have in your Gre? Me: I had a 430 but I wrote GMAT and not Fee V.O: So why MTSU Me: The curriculum aligns (she interrupted me there) and said talk to me what about the curriculum (I improvised sha) Said something about taking human resource courses which will help my career greatly and then continued with checking research papers of faculty members in my department and my interest in a particular on going paper. V.O so do you have Family or friends in the United States Me: No, I do not. V.O: So where will you be staying? Me: I haven't made provision for accommodation yet but intend staying off campus. V.O: So how many credit hours will you be taking per Week? Me: 39 credit hours (my brain now did quick booting- she said week) So i asked did you say Week? She said Yes. I said I didn't know yet as it wasn't specified V.O: who would be sponsoring You? Me: my dad V.O: What does he do? Me: he's a real estate developer V.o: Do you have his statement Me: Yes, I do V.O: alright, pass it While i was looking in my envelope V.o: So what year did you finish your bachelor's? ME: 2012 V.O: What course? Me: Geography V.o: she repeated Geography and I said yes. So why MBA? Me: So after my bachelors degree, I worked at Kaymu as a merchant specialist dealing with customers and people generally and i currently work at *** as a customer care executive also dealing with people which as helped groomed me and since I would like to become a human resource manager on my return back to (she interrupted again and said Human resource manager , I said yes Human resource manager) At this point I had passed the SOA. She checked and returned. Then took the white paper That's the important thing jare. She circled the pickup location and said it would be ready in 3days and to keep handy my i20 and passport when travelling. That's how I wanted to leave and she said No, please wait I need to check for something (shuu!!! Beht why na) then she scanned the back of the passport and I was about leaving again and she said No please wait. I need to check something else(in my mind I'm like kilode na.Again) Then she said i could go. I left immediately o. Before some body. Was an interesting experience. Confidence is key. At a point she stopped typing and was looking intently at me and what I was saying but as Lagosismyhome says, just see it as a conversation between two people( of course that conversation determines the outcome). My special thanks to djmakson , Texrem (he never had issues with me calling him), Lagosismyhome ( for always responding to questions) and everyone who has kept the thread alive. Many many thanks. 31 Likes 1 Share |

You should also understand economy class ticket prices are quiet different even when it's the same airline and the same flight time. It depends on the seat location in the aircraft . I checked wakanow and I saw 2 economy class tickets for 10th of August with air Maroc ( the same flight time and the same destination) . One was for 319k and the other for 359k . |

Vo: passport Me: I did Vo: what are you going for in the US Me: (pretty cold at first, then recovered) am going to the States for an 18 months Master progam in theological studies. Vo: then asked for my I 20 Vo: why a master in theological studies Me: it will help me live my dream of being a key figure in the Nigeria religious sector (not the whole of what I practiced though) Vo: what religious denomination do you belong to Me: Roman Catholic (it was like the vo is a Catholic and I had a ba in theology which was on my ds160) Vo: so tell me about some catholic theologians Me: told him about St Thomas of whom he asked what his key work was and I did. Vo: tell me about another Me: I did tell him about my patron saint Vo: what do you do currently Me: I lecture theology and also double as a financial secretary at a Catholic institute. Vo: what course do you lecture Me: (never expected that) was put off and I said it is not classified into courses but rather more of a concentration of their present field. That was all, after typing for a while the preamble before the blue paper. My second in this month as my study resumes in mid August. Any tips on what to do. Am blue faced now as it hit me hard. I will surely appreciate your advise. Constructive or not I will take thanks |

SequinsMuah: You just described your job. It does not require long sentences o. One or two is fine. A relative's address, dorm address you might intend to stay in, off-campus address you might intend to stay in, should be fine. |
