There are many states within a state which operate on laws that are different from what obtains in Nigeria. A lot of churches do same; there was this church we went to see the pastor and they said we can't enter due to wearing of trousers, we just turned around and went elsewhere.

Nigerians are fools for religion. I used to think it was brain washing but I'm not sure any longer. How can a man only complain about the workers, when he has not met the leader? All corruption begins at the top. I wonder how the Ghanaians are more civilized, although they are directly beside Nigeria. The offspring of Nigerians born in other countries are not so foolish. So it's something imbedded in Nigerian society. It's truly mind boggling.

I remember last Easter Sunday, a friend of mine begged that I take her to the church. I drove all the way from Ife on the same day (Easter Sunday) to be there on time. We were turned around from the church entrance by ushers and directed toward a number of tents a little walk from the main gate. My friend got the first shock when the usher (a young lady) standing in front of the narrow entrance into the compound where these tents were, asked her rudely to cover her hair.

In short, she never saw TB Joshua as she hoped. We were there until four in the evening. The tents were noisy and the message on the flatscreen TV could not be heard. When we were about leaving, she asked the woman beside us where she could get Morning Water. My friend's belief was that it was free. We were directed to an open tent behind the one we were under. We went to the stand and discovered that the Morning Water was not free after all. It was 5000 naira but the people selling it said we couldn't get the water except we bought some of TB Joshua's books. They explained that the water was free but that the books cost 5000 naira. My friend looked at me, expecting me to bring out 5k to buy a tiny bottle of water and some books I was not interested in buying. I didn't know when I said, Bullshit, I am outta here.

What is a man who wears lipstick doing in church to begin with?

Does the Bible not claim that people are that way inclined be put to death?

shocked

The last time I read something this long was Margaret Mitchell's 'Gone with the wind'.

I would rather read the whole books of the old testament, than waste my energy on this frame-up.

It is no frame up because I have experienced it first hand.

I swear, I totally can't place the gender of that person in the picture; top looks like a girl, bottom looks like a man. What kind of man (who knows he already facially looks girly) paints lipstick, plaits his hair and wears that massive feminine earring?... Most people who go to the church are desperate looking for solutions to their problems. That is the reason for the shakara and why you were treated like that.

I can't say much, but i had a similar experience years back, it was my first time there as well, the very slim and mean looking head security and unfriendly atmosphere coupled with aggressive questioning changed my perception of the church in seconds, i turned back immediately.

This article is a mere rant by someone who expected so much from others without having anything to offer.
I'm sure out of the teeming people who came to SCOAN on that Sunday, you're likely one of the few that have this "shocking" experience being a JJC. I did have similar experience on my first day at the church (as a JJC) which is understandable but subsequently I understand how things are done in SCOAN as compared to other churches.
On the issue of foreign visitors at SCOAN, there is nothing like racial segregation, they all come on invitation and hence they have a space reserved for them. Most of us Nigerians go there uninvited and hence we have no invitation letter to present at the gate.
I'm sure you'd prefer not to complain about how you're being treated in foreign embassies where you pay your hard-earned money for visas, arrive at 4.00am and eventually refused visa without refund.
You need to adjust to wherever or whatever society you find yourself and not expect the society to adjust to your expectations because you're just one out of millions of visitors at SCOAN.

Hahahha.

Op is 100% correct about this happenings at SCOAN.

That is the only place of worship where u are never welcomed.

Ushers look like thugs.
If you try to explain things to them... they will order those armed police men around to deal with you. Once the order is given_ those police don't waste time.

I wonder why such a number of armed police is needed in a Church premises.

Not all that glitters is gold.
Not all enticing actions u see on TV is actually what is happening really.

It's not possible for Tb Joshua not to be aware of such happenings around his church. Impossible!

In fact they are all acting according to instructions.

My advice to those (Nigerians) who want to go there is to take enough cash with you. You will be required to buy everything. That may give u entry.

God bless the TRUE preachers and doers of his word.

Haha! It is very refreshing to know that people still write well on social media.

He captured it beautifully. When I was there some years I had a verbal smack down with one of the hopeless ushers who was rude to my mum. These people have no regards for older people and it took every fibre of restraint I had in me not to start yelling like a mad woman. People were telling me to ignore the idiot guy "because you are in church." I am in church yet these fools are behaving like tin gods?

Well sha, I don't blame them. No be me carry my two yam legs go enter that circus of a church? This was years ago, and from what I've read here it seems it has gotten worse. Lord knows I can't be caught dead there again.
