Winter (january). Rounding up service this year November. Yes he made that clear in his declaration of sponsorship and in the study permit form under funds available.
Good, pls try if you can to include your own statement of account (especially the one you use to collect your allawee), it's not compulsory but I think you should I Clyde it since you earn something in service(hope you have some cash in it? no matter how little )

So guys I found out my application was rejected because I didn't pay tuition fees...that it was perfect until then. I basically covered home ties and every other issue apart from that. Anyways I have asked to defer my admission and will pay tuition fees. I heard it is an unwritten policy that you must have paid your school fees though it doesn't guarantee you the visa. Good luck guys

Guess you are going to concordia? They don't accept tuition until you touch down in Quebec. All thy accept is 250 cad acceptance fee. Sorry about your delay. I personally know 2 people whose visa were approved to study at concordia last month without paying tuition. Cheers, it'll end in praise

House pls there is another issue I need you to address for me!
My 1st degree is Production Engineering cgpa 3.98 (2.1),
I Just had my external defence for Msc in Engineering Management, statement of result will be ready soon & CGPA will be good.
I thought of phd (mechanical) by fall 2018 in canada but someone said phd admission is very difficult and secondly, I may not get a good job with it in canada after the program. He suggests I go for Msc mechanical first. I wanted to start seeking supervisor but don't know which to go for either phd or Msc.

My questions:
1. Is phd admission very difficult?
2. Can I get a job with phd witout canny Msc
3. Can I get funding with my UG cgpa of 3.98
4. Will VO see Production Engineering as different from Mechanical though they are almost the same. Prod Eng is area of specialisation in Mech eng.
5. Does phd always come with funding and less trv scrutiny

Good afternoon good people of nairaland. I am new here, and have gotten lots of information from this thread right from part 12, which am still reading. I am about submitting my application tomorrow, but would like to showcase my document for review. It goes thus;
Online route
Course progression: Bsc Business administration-->> MBA
Alll CIC forms
Passport data page
Passport page with UK visa
Police clearance
Birth certificate
Admission letter
Nysc call up letter
Acceptance letter from ppa
Nysc ID
Undergraduate Cert
Undergraduate transcript
Neco result
Sponsor(Dad) SOA with closing balance of 12m
Sponsor's shares about 30m
Sponsor's land asset about 5m
Sponsorship letter
Affidavit
Declaration of sponsorship
Semester fee receipt of $7500 from dom acct
Digital photo
And SOP addressing (career objectives, goals, purpose of visit, and why I choose Canada).
I am currently undergoing my nysc. And I am bothered about the situation of home tie, as it seems I lack one.
Your profile is similar to mine. You didn't include documents that highlight your sponsor's souce of income. Is he self employed? Where is the money coming from? I don't think including your statement of account is necessary. These VOs know what corpers are paid.
Your parents are your home tie. Include their passport biodata page or birth certificate if they have one.

Not sure if my assumptions are true but it just what have noticed.
It seems the younger folks here get TRVs easily, with their straight forward "air-tight" applications. E.g. those with 1yr and less post grad/NYSC work experience going for their Masters get their apps accessed faster and their TRVs come in faster as well, than people with 5, 6years and above wealth of work experience, their application passes through thoroough scrutiny.

Just some wild assumptions.... Don't know sha. From the little have notice on this thread.
With the trend of how applications are approved and refused, i seem to agree with you.

The recent graduates have advantage with a good application.

Salut!

I started reading this thread vigorously, albeit silently after my application on June 3rd, 2017. Though, I read www.cic.gc.ca deeply before applying, I figure this forum is great for extra help.

I must say that certain approval profile descriptions here gave me some hope during the wait and my hope is that my profile can do the same to some other person(s).
Here goes,...

Applied online: June 3rd
Biometrics call: June 5th
Approval message/Passport request: August 2nd
Passport submitted: August 3rd
Passport collection: Awaiting.....

Documents submitted and arrangement format:
-Study Permit Application (filled as accurately as possible and multiply-checked)
-CAQ (for Quebec applicants)
-Under Passport (Passport data page + Police Clearance certificate)
-Under Letter of Acceptance (Offer of Admission Letter, C$250 acceptance fee, NYSC discharge certificate [2017], BSc Certificate [2016], Undergraduate Transcript, WAEC Certificate)
-Under Proof of financial support (sponsors' six months bank statement, sponsors' proof of business, sponsors' proof of asset, accommodation support letter from relative residing in the area) Sponsor: Parent
-Under Proof of medical exam (e-Medical printout obtained at Children's & Consultant Practice where I did my upfront medicals)
-Under Digital Photo (Digital photo size as specified on “cic” website)
-Family Information form (filled as accurately as possible and multiply-checked)
-Under Proof of relationship (Dad's passport data page & my birth certificate)
-Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada
-Under Letter of Explanation (Study plan- With six short paragraphs, I answered relevant questions [purpose of visit, current activity, intentions after study etc.] - about 1 page)

Course progression (BSc. Elect Engrng--> M.Eng Elect/Comp Engrng)

Re-iterating what “gurus” here have said; My two cents: Keep application as simple, relevant (as your case may be) and accurate as possible (I do not think online or paper application affects decision speed much), Pray and keep up your faith and positivity, Read and ask questions. Bonne chance tout le monde! Goodluck Everyone!

Congrats.. @Alantobie, you can go thru this approval. I'll be applying to Concordia for winter too, that's why your application struck a muscle in me. My file is still being reviewed by graduate school. Get your GMCS so we can be sure of what their claim is. I'll have to be honest with you, a friend was also denied in June for insufficient fund and he fired back same application almost immediately with an explanation that the fund was more than sufficient and she was approved after just 2 weeks

Thanks @Osemigho, The school deposit fee was paid from his account. I think if he transfers the balance of my tuition and upkeep into my bank account he will only have few million felt. My school fee is about 6 million not considering the living expenses. My uncle has already stated in his letter of sponsorship that he had made the required deposit on my behalf. Also, he has also stated the relationship between him and my mum with a proof, he also stated that I would be coming back to the country to work for him. Moreover, I have never receive such a huge amount in my account, will this not implicate me? Please enlighten me the more. Thanks

Ok. No implication if you prove it is from your sponsor(s). You best option is for him to transfer the remaining amount to you. If you think VO will notice his balance is too low after that, they will notice that without it too. Perhaps you should use 2 related sponsors. One for tuition and the other for living expenses.

Hello boss,

Let me try to respomd from personal experience...

1) NO. It aint difficult. It only depends on how far are ready to go to get admitted and how patient you are too.

2) You never know until you try. You will have four years to find out. In the long run, you might even employ people after the phd... depends on you still.

3) Yes. All you have to do is ask and search for schools that offers funding...

4) Explain it in your SOP as you did here.

5) a. It depends on the school...
b. We really have no idea... applicatioms are treated wholly and based on applicants documents.

In a nutshell, you have a role to play in all. Everything is possible to them that believes...

Mazi..

can someone with 4 years undergraduate study permit switch to post graduate studies of 2yrs on getting to canada
I'm trying to make sense out of your question and suppose you are going for a second undergraduate program.
If this is your first degree(underg),then there is no chance to switch to a graduate degree but if this is your second undergrad and you intend to switch to post-graduate, you have to meet the conditions of your study permit. Also, the level of your study and duration of your program is known to IRCC at the time of application because the study permit was issued to cover your program and not a 2 years graduate program.

So if you have to change, you must consider this.
Otherwise, while notifying CIC about the change(DLI,Progarm,Duration), you may be contacted to justify such switch since the requirements(at the time of application) are different for issuance of study duration.
