Icon4s: I think we will later switch to a 4-4-2 formation. If Osimhen develops as I think, then that will be the best option for us. However if we must play a 4-2-3-1 formation and Osimhen develops fast, Nacho can play in the middle 3 but with freedom to attack at will with Osimhen up top. 1 Like |

I would have to say I really respect the Goodjoe. He tries to put forward his point by pasting references even if he is wrong. He tries to paste references. People can learn a bit from his style of arguement. Goodjoe let this iheanacho issue rest |

TheGoodJoe: So Osimhen's development should be the only factor that will determine if we switch to 4-4-2 or not? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:22am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Icon4s: I am at the moment okay with Mikel, Ndidi partnership in midfield. I think we can get creativity and Discipline with this pair. With Osimhen up top, Nacho's free role can link the midfield to the point man. A lot depends on Osimhen hitting it fast. __________________Osimhen (CF) __________________Nacho (SS) __Onyekuru (LMF)_______________Victor Moses (RMF) ______________________Mikelele (CMF) ___________________Ndidi (DMF) |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:27am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Icon4s: It is a case of us having a balanced lethal team. If Osimhen is not ready then I say we maintain the 4-2-3-1 until then. Not yet sold on Kayode because I have not watched him closely to assign such responsibility. _____________________Nacho (CF) _____________________Mikelele (AMF) __Onyekuru (LMF)_____________________Victor Moses (RMF) ________________________Etebo (CMF/DMF) ____________________Ndidi (DMF) |

TheGoodJoe:I am not quite comfortable wit ndidi pairing mikel....the dude is fast becoming so offensive minded...he can leave the midfield exposed..... I will prefer.....mikel agu or onazi.... to be honest....except ndidi is cautioned to stay out at the midfield and shed the defenders |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Humility017(m): 7:39am On Aug 05, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:how about the availability of other strikers....like dressiers, kayode, even success and lot's more oshimen shouldn't be the reason to switch formation....we have got good players that will fit into the manager's philosophy any day anytime |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:40am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Humility017: I agree on Ndidi playing offensively and I am also not comfortable with it. I feel he is playing to instructions and I have seen him sit in a tidy fashion at the back also. However, Ndidi is less a risk in shielding the defence than Onazi who on lots of occasions leave us exposed at the back. There is big case for Mikel Agu. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:42am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Humility017: Osimhen's menacing style draws confidence from me than most of our other strikers including Iheanacho. Not sold on the others and I am yet to see Success play a full game in that role for the responsibility. |

tbaba1234:I just don't know why all our German players...are so prone to injuries....these guy is just 20 an he is being infested wit injuries like this...I wish him quick recovery though...I just want us to cap him even if it is just 1 minute so as to secure his international allegiance 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:please....leave ndidi. the guy has grown to believe...he can shot and score from anywhere hence the need for him always going upfront...I don't really believe it stems from Shakespeare instructions...though the coach seems to be comfortable wit it... mikel agu I believe can offer something onazi lacks...he should be tried in that role with mikel for just one match and let's see how he plays...he is a better passer of the ball compared to onazi and also good in tackles and tends sit deep in the midfield role...better these young stars should be given a chance also the likes of olayinka and Dennis...hopefully we qualify before the Algeria game....they can get to play likewise dressiers (the belgian) |

safarigirl:I tell you....more importantly it is the season prior the World cup tourney.... hopefully those in Belgium and Germany keep getting regular play time..and to think that the likes of success, oshimen,Dennis, olayinka, bazee ,aina, ebuehi, ndidi, nacho, awaziem, iwobi, troost,Moses Simon, kalu etc are all below the age of 24 makes it more exciting..... bunch of young lads...wit huge potentials |

i dont think England is really fair to these 20 world cup winning team.... seyi ojo onomah ejaria all got loaned I think to championship side... after posing a 5 star performance in just concluded under 20 world cup..... well that will make them have a rethink of pledging their allegiance to Nigeria as 3 lion's shirt will now be difficult to comeby 1 Like |

Humility017: I don't get your point here. So they should get automatic places in EPL teams and probably the 3 Lions? It is only in Africa that we over-rate our achievements at these youth competitions. 1 Like |

I don't think Osimhen is ready. The potential is certainly there but he is not ready. From what i have seen from pre season, Sadiq Umar is more ready than Osimhen. 2 Likes |

Assuming I'm not mixing things up, the pitch pillars played in when thy beat Rivers lately was waterlogged, with overgrown grasses. . Are we speaking of the same one? Danycrusoe: |

Humility017: I watched Portugal in the confederations cup, the performance of one player caught my eye and that was William Cavalho in the midfield. He keeps everything simple as a shield to the defense, always available for cover. He showed discipline. I was watching and hoping we had someone with such quality in our team. 2 Likes |

This formation,4-4-2 really suits KC's style of play, but honestly i don't fancy it because firstly i see it as an old-fashioned.Secondly,we have got many WFs.. |

junnyjake: Dessers scored all those goals in a lower division. I would rate Sadiq above him based on what i have seen of pre season. Sadiq needs a full season next year, maybe with a lower club. |
