please How did you process your student visa Sir. AM also planning to apply via poland . Submitted online Apri 28 , 2017 , PhD University of Saskatchewan No medical No interview Biometrics May 04, 2017, Passport request May 05, 2017 Passport received May 10, 2017 Approved May 10, 2017 Thanks to everyone I applied from Poland. I almost gave up about studying in Canada because I had stories about challenges applying outside Nigeria but someone in this forum encouraged me, even when I find it difficult to provide a good SOA. All I provided was my retired dad's statement with just 500k. Though the PhD is funded but just approximately 17CAD per year. To those still awaiting approval never give up, I would also help with prayers am also available to help review SOP, this would reduce the burden placed on the gurus in the thread. 5 Likes |

khasm: Hello boss, The colored might not necessarily be the case. Although every application is treated different but you cannot tender what you don't have as home tie. The home ties he presented are what he has and that should fly. I only showed my dad, mum and siblings as home ties without even submitting their birth certificates or anything linking me to them and I got approved, all thanks to God. However, the main reason @ aade5 got rejected is because the VO is not satisfied he is a bona fide student and would leave Canada at the end of his studies even though he has funding @aade5, what is the content of your SOP? How did you link your bachelors, work experience, your intend programme and your future goals? That is what the VO is missing in this case. I would suggest you order your gcms notes, to see the details of refusals. Sorry @aade5 for the refusal. You will get it next time Cheers... Mazi 4 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Austinpee4: 3:18pm On Aug 10, 2017 |
khasm:Na wa o bros, this your analysis though! Well, Purpose of visit is exactly what it is 'your purpose of going to Canada and Circumstance(s) surrounding that singular definition and intention'. As you may also know, the refusal letter has other reasons of not satisfying an officer and each will serve the purpose it was ticked(although, IRCC have been ticking anyhow these days) So to a very large extent, purpose of visit always surrounds intended program, prior event leading to that choice, the advantages of it, how it will highlight convincingly a claim of studying and returning back home, the viability of the propose program as well as the surrounding circumstances to ensure that primary intent of study will be met. More of why you are going to Canada and events that will surround your study in Canada. Officer's note regarding a refusal on purpose of visit will most likely have lines of " not a genuine student who intend to complete study and depart, proposed program not logical with previous education or employment etc" So the points you raised will largely fall under 'home ties' 'personal asset' and financial situations. They are provisions to raise concerns in these light. Like most people have already mentioned, the GCMS note will throw more light to the refusal. My only concern is that some GCMS file i have seen lately have been erroneous and also misleading. I just hope in this case, it highlight the exact reasons for the refusal. 4 Likes |

eastafro: Boss, People have different perspectives as to why they want to further their studies. For some, it might be for a career in academia or research while for others it might be for "office duties" or needed to boost their current employment or seek other careers. More so, research based/project based courses gives you the ample chance for a hands on experiment on the issues relating to your field. This boosts your morale and confidence too in most cases. Course based courses might also give you a life in research but it is always advisable if you have the opportunity for a research/project based courses, take it. It is better to start early. At the end of the day, it depends on your end game... Thanks, Mazi... 3 Likes |

Austinpee4: Well said. But my observation is a pointer to the total packaging of the app. Also note that, purpose of visit and home tie are interwoven, in the sense that, if i dont have something tangible to come back to in nigeria, that means i may not want to depart, hence, the purpose of visit can stick out...that is the thinking or assumption of the VO, atleast to nigerians. As you have pointed out, its not just proposed program being in line with previous education and/or employment. Just my opinion anyways. |

roselex: My opinion....applying outside Nigeria isn't a good option, Phd students usually get preferential treatment and I see that as the case of Mr Jude, since you are considering masters, I think it's not the same case, my 2cents...over to the gurus 2 Likes |

Good day House, I have a question please: **I am at the verge of submitting a Federal Express Entry application. However, I am also going to apply for a Study Permit for a Masters program early 2018 that I intend to pursue in Canada. (Whether the Express Entry falls through or not). My question: Will I have issues with getting approval for my Study Permit application if I declare that I have an application in the express entry pool? Thank you jnyuwa02: Thank you Jnyuwa02, I am talking about STUDY PERMIT, not TRV. I just need to be doubly sure that EE application will not adversely affect my STUDY PERMIT application I appreciate your contribution all the same. Thanks. |

roselex:What's your status in Poland? if you are there for studies or a permanent resident I will advise you apply from there as their processing time should be less than that of Nigeria but if you went there for visit then come back and apply from Nigeria |
