Totally wrong? Okay. These VOS don't care what degree you go for? Okay. What is the the reason then why people going for PHD have very low to virtually no denial rate for TRV? They are taken to be very serious scholars whose purpose of visit borne by experience, has always been well defined. I am not saying anything is a walk through the park. Anyone who undertakes this journey of going through this TRV pursuit in my opinion, is to be commended. I am not saying PGD don't get approved. I am saying their uphill battle is the more uphill one. In comparison to masters and PHDs students vying for a visa. Someone with a law degree going for a PGD asked me and I felt a logical progression is an LLB for them. We have seen too many people run into problems with obtaining TRV who had first degree, instead of applying for a master's, going for a PGD. Low GPA should not mean we settle for PGD. Please search more better, there are programs spread across the country you will be surprised you can get into. I have analyzed the common perception on those going for PGD. Yes the onus lies with each candidate in dovetailing their applications no matter what course of study to show their eligibility for a TRV. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating. PGD is the more uphill battle on getting a TRV. My opinion is not to discourage anyone, but to guide and steer away from potential pitfalls. It is better to be safe than be sorry. By all means though, if you feel strongly about the PGD program and feel you can compellingly make a case for visa as some have, follow your gut instincts.

Guy enough of all this talks please. You have an opinion and we as a family here on this thread are not subjected to walk inline with your opinion. Whatever is it you feel about PGD is right for you but you cant force that on every other person. Allow this PGD Masters thing rest biko....

Good morning guys, I was refused this morning. Based on eligibility. Something like purpose of visit or insufficient fund would have made more sense but ineligibility for me is incomprehensible. Does anyone have an idea of what eligibility entails. I plan on applying for my gcms note. Any help in that regards would be appreciated too.
sorry for the delay, share ur profile to help us know more

Urgent Attention please. For those that have paid tuition fees to University is Saskatchewan through Form A. Please I need to ask what was the beneficiary's details you need to transfer the money? Please is urgent. This question also applies to other that has used form A before. Thanks

Do you have relatives or friends in Canada you can trust with your funds? If yea, it's best you use one coz of the ease of transfer to their accounts God forbid the visa approval goind sideways. At least, that's what I did. Just fill the International students form stating the person's required details then print and append your signature, scan and send to the bursary e-mail.
I made the mistake of using my online signature which wasn't approved, so take the earlier explained route.

Hello house,

First of all I want to congratulate those who have received their visas and for those waiting, I pray it ends well. I actually used this forum when I got my study permit in 2010 (been in Canada since then) and it’s interesting that this forum is still very active with bright minds left right and centre.

Please I have a question regarding my biological brother that applied for study permit recently. His application was refused based on insufficient funds despite the fact that my dad is the sponsor, with over 50 million in its bank account including fixed deposit. We also included landed properties worth over 200 million naira.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but I have a feeling that the Visa office did not have time to process his visa as he submitted his paper application on June 28, 2017 and school resumes on Sept 1. The VO only selected insufficient funds as the reason and mentioned that we can re-apply after addressing the issue. No other reason was selected.

Now my question:
My brother is going to University of Western Ontario for masters in engineering. My dad opted to pay the fees upfront but the school says that they don’t collect school fees until the student gets a visa so we didn’t pay any fees. Is there anyone in the house that is going to UWO and got the same response from the school? I feel a strong way to prove that funds are available is to pay the full year tuition ($25,000), which my dad is ready to pay but we don’t know how to pay it since the school would not collect it.

Secondly, they only returned his passport and kept all his documents. Is that normal? When he is re-applying would he have to re-submit all documents again or just address insufficient issues and back it up with the relevant documents?

Sorry for the long write-up. Please the guidance of veterans in the house would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Then, put any of your friends you would have access to in Sask. U don't have any problem, it would be updated on your paws acct. once they receive the deposit.

Nawa ooooo. ...insufficient funds as how...but you included bank balance of 50million and some landed property. ....maybe you send email to the school that you want to pay tuition fees. ...and they will reply you not to pay until you get your trv then you can now add the email to his next application. ....may be the vo was not in a good mood that day. ........It is well....order for your gcms note first and know the real reason

Don't worry we have enough "VISA OFFICERS "here that will assist u all through without collecting 1 kobo from u, but u must be willing to play ur own part by taking ur time to read through some pages so as to get some important info (I want to believe most of the questions u intend to ask must have been asked and we'll treated before), so pls take even if it's 1 week to read through some pages and u will be shocked at what u see. NB:Always ask questions here whenever u don't understand anything

It's simple, let your dad pay the tuition fee and living expeses into ur younger brother's account here(cos just like the school said they won't accept any payment for now until trv is secured) or another option is for your brother to open a bank account with a Canadian bank (people have been doing that) then your father pays the tuiton fee into the bank account in Canada while ur dad pays his living expenses into his Nigeria bank account.
NB: You said you got info here about 7 years ago and u couldn't even come back to share ur experience with those of us(upcoming ) until u need info for ur younger brother, that's not fair at all. Imagine if everyone does that how will this GREAT thread continue? That's just my view sha. If your brother can do the suggestions I gave above then he should be good to go as regards funds. Best of luck[b]

God is so good! Submitted July 13th with upfront medicals, medicals passed a week after. Eligibility Review on August 16th being yesterday morning. Approval on August 16th when I checked at night.

Got a BA in interior Architecture- Cyprus
Ma in Architecture- UK
Going for a second masters in Environmental Studies.

I've been a silent reader here. Was really encouraged by the faith some of us possess here. It's amazing. When I went to submit my application last month, VFS officer told me "you are submitting late" considering my program starts commences in a couple of weeks, but the Holy Spirit told me "I got you". Nothing is a rule out with God truth be told.

Be encouraged everyone!

Congratulations! I usually don't 'tap' into people's blessings but I tap into yours. I'm praying for a similar outcome.

NB: You said you got info here about 7 years ago and u couldn't even come back to share ur experience with those of us(upcoming ) until u need info for ur younger brother, that's not fair at all. Imagine if everyone does that how will this GREAT thread continue? That's just my view sha.

@mcobex: Thanks for replying and no vex. I did share my experience at the time but I was certainly not a guru like some of you. More so, over time my information is bound to become irrelevant. For instance, back then there were no biometrics or VFS. Now that I have signed back in, I can answer some questions that some of you have about Canada in general. I'm in Ontario btw (Greater Toronto Area).

Well done. Check for the last list posted and modify it, don't copy and paste it. Thanks for picking the role.

No problem bro, I am also not a guru but I try to give the little I know. Though am not going to Toronto but I know people going there will need some little info from gurus like u that have need there for sometime atleast to make them settle I'm quickly.
Concerning the matter at hand, work with the suggestions I gave earlier about transferring of the funds to your brother's account (be it the one he will open in canada or nigeria ). Hope his previous program(UG) is related to his intended program? a clear picture of his profile will help people here to give more and better advise, also try to order for his GCMS note as that will give detailed reasons why the vo decide not to approved his application

I think you should atleast start your search through google. It will help you narrow your choice. People here can then help you on a variety of things from tips on how to get supervisors, research proposals etc to visa application.
Thanks for the response Austinpee4, I have already researched some universities where the course is offered, and seen quite a number of them Mcgill, Trent UWO and so on, but the challenge is the switch from BSC est mgt to masters in IT field. Based on experience, will such application scale through considering the field of study am coming from and the one am switching over to...
