Thanks for sharing.
As usual, settlement will be reached somehow.
Somebody is only testing his neighbor's resolve.
And if price crashes, loading opportunity for oando contrarians.

How come Oando allowed the problem to escalate to this level before thinking of settlements?

@Ihedi, I respect you more than the nonsense you typed here but I'll let it pass knowing you very well and your style of writing.

You should have rather asked why this came up rather than been judgemental.

There's no need taking out your Oando bad news anger on me because as you are protecting your investment so am I. I leave it to that for now.

Mutual fund is a no no for me. Mutual funds are not for the smart and informed investors. The fund managers running the mutual funds will earn their pay whether the fund makes money or not.

I remember in 2010 when FBN Securities compelled all their retail investors with portfolios of N5 million and below to convert their portfolios to FBN Heritage Fund or the customers should transfer their accounts to others stockbrokers. I personally assisted over 40 of their clients to transfer their accounts to my stockbrokers
Please does that include the various Money Market Funds?

H

It depends on the fund at your disposal and the bank you use. Money market instruments include Treasury Bills, commercial papers, fixed deposits, bankers acceptance. Treasury Bills are currently the instrument with the highest return followed by commercial papers. MMF invest in most of the instruments but TB takes about 70% or more of their portfolio.

First Bank and Stanbic IBTC accept 100k for TB, while other banks, stockbrokers and Investment bankers accept N1 million and above.

But with money market mutual fund you can start with just 5k.

Thanks Pa Emma.

Maybe to see if they could bully their way through the problem, or succeed in swallowing the money through legal pranks and stunts.
That's why I said somebody was testing somebody's resolve.

Mutual funds are good, just that I cannot invest in it. I will rather invest in the company managing the mutual funds .

Please average down, this is the best time to sharpen your cutlass .

Please note that if the banks decide to do 25% of what Intel just did to Oando you may still get it at sub N1.50k if can manage to escape the local and international undertakers.

The octopus will like this news.

The order was made on the 17th. Meaning the market must have reacted to it by now. I dont see much fuss if really the order was made on the 17th.

I maybe wrong though.

Maybe some people withheld the news from the public inorder to exit before the panic it may cause.

Or maybe some people dug up the news now inorder to crash the price and buy cheaper.

I favour the latter though, it is more likely.

Court orders seizure of Oando’s oil rigs over N4.7bn debt
— 24th August 2017
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has ordered the arrest and detention of three crude oil drilling rigs belonging to Oando Energy Services Limited (also known as OES Energy Services Limited) over debts of $15,399,524.84 (equivalent of N4.7 billion) and N14,169,164.80.
The arrest and detention order for the three drilling rigs named OES Teamwork, OES Integrity and OES Passion was made by the court’s Vacation Judge, Justice J. K. Omotosho on[b] August 17, 2017.

The court order was made consequent upon suit number FHC/PH/CS/102/2017 filed by oil and gas logistics services firm, INTELS Nigeria Limited against the three drilling rigs as 1st to 3rd Defendants; Oando Energy Services Limited, Oando Marketing Plc and Oando Plc as 4th to 6th Defendants respectively.
The court ordered the three drilling rigs, moored at the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT), Onne Port Complex in Onne, Rivers State, to be detained pending the provision of a sufficient and acceptable bank guarantee from either the United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB), Zenith Bank Plc (ZBN) or First Bank of Nigeria Plc (FBN) by the defendants to cover the debt of $15,399,524.84 and N14,169,164.80.
The amount is owed by Oando Energy Services Limited for general port and facilities services provided at the port for the three rigs over an extended period of time.
Justice Omotosho fixed further hearing in the matter for August 30, 2017.
