SkinnyDude:Can't say, I never go that yankee Ibadan before. Emexnairaland:They do have Spring intakes. Try to put in your application months before the deadline, a scholarship or tuition waiver is more likely with that. For the pm, I don't reply them (my apologies). Apply first, then we can talk privately if you have issues or special questions. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Holyfield1: ANSWER It depends on the state where your school is, rent is the major factor to consider. You can save some money but getting a student to house you when you arrive, otherwise - you pay heavily for motel/hotel accommodation. $60 a day minus feeding for one week motel stay can turn to something dangerous. This is stritcly based on my experiences in my area. 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Breakdown - 1. Rent - Paid $500, damage deposit was $200 in total. Some apartments charge same cost of rent as deposit for entire apartment. Application fee was $40 each. Any questions? Call me on (361)-228-****. Other people can add their costs based on location. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

barondmoni: Majority of people here asked this question at one point trying to figure out what lies ahead before coming to Yankee including me. I will advise you to come on F1 visa if you are thinking of graduate program because you might even get lucky to have your GA before leaving Naija otherwise you can come in with any other visa category and figure it out when you get here. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: Naija to Yankee Thoughts And Experiences by MackyNaija(m): 1:13am On Sep 01, 2017 |
amoss88:You will need to show 28k though most people don't have access to that much money when they arrive at school. naninwa007:Approx. 26k estimate is for a year for everything; down to the tinniest pin you would need in school. 17+k if you are granted an in-state tuition payment eligibility. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

All men wan cry Me sha just deh look madam Professor as she deh dish out concepts upon concepts - she breezed thru 4 chapters of advanced economics in 2 classes. Shelling out terminology after terminology - only thing I could relate with was Simple Interest Compound interest sef, I don forget. This my head sha! She asks a question and the whole place is silent. To add insult to injury, she gave us an assignment.... I meant to say PLENTY assignments for wetin I never do for my life before... 35 Likes |

MackyNaija: About this.... The thing still short die! I even see more wosky ones daily + some boxers type today, no jokes.... I usually don't seem to care these days, I have gotten over the shock. I only smile when I remember how shocked I was when I first noticed it. A little over 30 days in yankee now - the experience has been a nice one! Met some 'sure boys', Naija boys are not smiling here. Men don find ways to deh run things. Any further questions about the part in italics.... Direct the questions to google - it knows everything. 35 Likes |

Hello mackynaija, please I want to apply as an undergraduate, in tourism and management course or any course in business or art, and my WAEC is not too good as I intend using my GCE, and the year I wrote the GCE was 2011 will it be okay considered the gap year? and also the grades and mark its written on the GCE, would I need to submit my secondary Schl transcript again? cause its not in my possession, would I need to submit an English test during application process, cause I believe NGN should be exempted |

samac: I do not know much about undergraduate admissions requirements but ensure you write all exams that are required so you can stand a chance at a scholarship. I am soooo caught up with school work.. So much to read and assignments are due next week.. My Weekend is all booked with activities.. Tuesday is TAMU Kingsville career fair Wednesday and Thursday is TAMU College Station career fair... Screening of companies I would be pallying still undone, wish I could stay awake all the way till Monday night. All must be attended... It will be very busy 7days from now. In other news, 3 friends just got on-campus jobs today Glad they did, lesser financial worries + chicken wings money don sure. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Hey man...good write up. Congratulations on your admission. As you will soon be learning - US is awesome but not a bed of roses. You will work hard but you will see result of your hard work. Stay off credit card debt, no matter how tempting. For furniture - you can get good cheap knock off from Craigslist. Start planning for life after school from now- Also because of changing immigration policies - your best option is to get very good grades- then you may get companies ready to take you on internship for your top grades. Join as many student associations as you can, networking will help you a lot, if you are lucky to get a Nigerian association please link up, they have lots of useful tips. That ﹰUncle ﹰBens cannot help ya case o..lol, you can Google where they sell ﹰAsian food, they have small bags of rice there. Good work writing your experience here , people will learn from it. Pm me, we can talk on phone later. 75 Likes 12 Shares |

More meetings will come up later + there are 2 different career fairs for this week starting today.
