GlitteringStar: Thank you. I think you're right. I might just focus on that. I just really wanted to start school in January because the sooner I can start the sooner I finish and set up the centre. I should probably look more deeply at Express Entry. Thank you for your suggestion. 1 Like 1 Share |

Abvlaw: I believe you can still start school in January. Dive into the pool immediately (since you have ECA and IELTS already) and all things being equal, you should get an ITA in the next draw. Some August peeps received PPR within one month of submission. 2 Likes |

Police clearance concerning immigration is usually doneby Interpol. So unless Jos has an interpol office, it would have to be sent to Lagos/Abuja or the nearest interpol office. Dont worry about where it is from so fatlr it is authentic. Let CIC worry about that. Best of luck jnyuwa02: |

Hi Afghan71, Sorry to bother you. I have been struggling to live know my application for the past one month. I made a photocopy of my paper application I have looked at my details critically just to be sure I'm other making any mistakes yet I keep getting the prompt that says " we can find the application that matches your details." However, I have been tracking my application via the VSF website. Hello Afehin71, Insufficient funds is not all about the SOA balance. It may also mean lump sum deposited into the account without showing proof of the source of the money and so on. Family ties means proof that you have ties in Nigeria. It also ranges from ties such as your parents, siblings, to land documents if you have any and so on. Purpose of study may mean that the course you chose doesn't show progression. Travel history is most times "jara". Many people have gotten Canada study permit as first time travelers. It is about your travel history and not your dad's travel history. In summary, order your GCMS notes first for the detailed analysis (reason for refusal). [/quote] 5 Likes |

marcuskens:This is not accurate. You are eligible for a PGWP only once, and the length of PGWP is determined by your length of study. If you do a one-year MSc, then you get a one-year PGWP after which you can't reapply for PGWP again (including under the guise of extension). Note to readers: don't only rely on this thread to feed you critical information. Go on CIC's website to confirm information such as this before you base your study decisions on others' advice about CIC policies. 6 Likes 1 Share |

vikmeek: 1. Keep your uncle as sponsor (different last name doesn't matter, you will show proof using birth certificates showing he and your mom share the same parents). He pays one year of tuition to your school, and then transfers one year living expenses funds to your dom account. Attach all this proof and present to VO. In addition, your uncle would explain all this in his sponsorship letter as evidence of his willingness to sponsor you. 2. A transfer from your uncle to your mom's account will show up as a lump sum. How will you/she explain this to the VO? Also it's best to transfer to a dom account (GBP, since your uncle's funds are in this currency) so you don't lose money due to the continuous devaluation of the Naira (and something called "buy-sell spread": basically you lose money if you go from GBP to NGN and back to GBP even if on same day). 3. For home ties, in my view a study leave letter is not in itself a very credible home tie. Think about it, why would an employer hold a job for you unless you have an extraordinarily special skill that isn't present in the Nigerian labor force? I'm not saying you shouldn't include a study leave letter, I'm saying that you need to also present other home ties (e.g. credible plans on what you plan to use your Canada educational skills to build/develop when you come back to Nigeria... be as specific and clear as possible.) 2 Likes 1 Share |

irohak: Thank you, my intended course is social work and it has no relevance to my current activity and isn't it too late to change course and institute Secondly, I included landed properties and I have my parents and a younger sister as ties Thirdly, the SOA is a flowing account too |

lovesavvi: jnyuwa02:@lovesavvi the parts in bold should be the most critical parts of your next application. How will your education be an investment in the future development of Nigeria? VOs need to see that you have a clearly defined plan on what you would do if you aren't allowed to stay in Canada after your studies (e.g. you run out of PGWP and don't get PR). All they need to be convinced about is that you are the kind of person who won't stay back in Canada illegally. Also, include all other business and professional ties that you have to Nigeria (tie it all together in a compelling story of how you'd use your Canada education in Nigeria). Your wife & kids alone aren't a compelling enough reason, though they are a good reason. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Boss, thank God for safe landing.... Pls, how can I apply for MBA , if possible or PGD at U of Calgary? I hold HND insurance, working in an insurance company presently... 1. yñ things and gave me cad at 1.24 rate (Bank of Canada rate) to pay my landlady. Paid for my lunch, dash me pillow, etc. I am yet to pay my landlady cos she agreed I pay on arrival and She hasn't come but I'm already in the room . Talk of God's favor! I've seen some part of my school (UofCalgary). Multiple storey-buildings in a beautiful well laid-out environment I must say. Calgary is truly beautiful and people are friendly when they bumped into each other. Bicycle riders and walkers are more powewrful on the road than Carriders. By the way, I'm yet to see a police officer or Police station on the street of Calgary. Is it that they don't have ni or what? This is my next question for my nigerian family here. To end it all, have you been refused admission or student Visa and you feel overwhelmed and like quiting? Dont be. Learn from your mistakes, Read and Repackage! Few Nigerians I've chatted with here, including myself, faced similar things but didn't |
