I've been following this trend. Thanks for this great platform. I have HND (DISTINCTION, 3.57/4.00) and PGD (CGPA of 5.4/7.0) from University of Ibadan, both in Statistics. I would like to apply for an MSc degree in Statistics in any school in Norway. Plz what are my chances and which schools can you suggest? Thanks alot. |

JerryDM1: HND CGP is great. I still don't know if its recognized by Norwegian schools though. If affirmative, then you have a very food chance as your course is not competitive. 1 Like |

Good afternoon fellow nairalander,Just out of interest - how do you plan on paying your expenses if you're not yourself in posession of the required funds? From time to time it appears a few posts that want to circumvent the rules. Technically speaking, 100k NOK is below the povery line set by the Norwegian government. In order words, students are often considered to be poor. Consider for a minute what this actually entails. First of all, it entails that you have very little in terms of purchasing power. Indeed I find this to be true: After having bought food and other necessities, you are left with very little. Should any unexpected expenses arise you do not have a whole lot to go on. I recommend no one to attempt circumventing the requirements or borrowing money you do not have. You will arrive to an extremely miserable experience. The requirements are there for a reason. With that said, I am sure that the sponsor's money will not be transfered back to his or hers account, but directly to a Norwegian bank account in your name only after the disposal into the university's account. The sole condition where the money will be transfered back is if you don't start studying. So let's not spread misinformation. 1 Like |

This NASU strike is about to turn transcript request to a do or die affair. God help us this October. After all the planning and effort, these people will just allow devil to use them. Christian or Muslim, if you went to a public school, start praying!!! as in serious Prayer that they call it off soon. |

Good evening honorable nairalanders, as i am feeling now i really want to move to Norway, i live in Abuja Nigeria and i am tired of the whole situation in Nigeria. I studied Civil Engr with a GPA of 3.12 in a good reputable university here in Nigeria but its not as i thought it would be after 4yrs of schooling. I have saved $2600 since my stay in Abj and i intend to travel to Norway and make a living for myself. Any Nairalander in Norway shuld help and advice me. Thanks |

please I need someone to confirm if any of the schools with the Oct - December application deadline will require transcripts to be sent to them during this period. Plead!! its an emergency!! I need to know my options before the NASU strike on Monday. |
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by StarFlux: 2:09pm On Sep 08, 2017 |
trilobite:Yes, you must send them within the deadline as they are a part of your application. They can't consider your application without all the required documentation. They don't require hard-copies from all countries, but they do for Nigerians for the most part. |

UIT application portal is confusing me. Is it time to apply ni? |
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by StarFlux: 11:10pm On Sep 08, 2017 |
kassidy07:You ask a vague and extremely general question. You get sense, abi? Be respectful of other people's time as the elders surely must have taught you in your youngest days. You can literally google "list of universities in Norway" and a myriad of options will appear before you. Not sure which one to pick? Google "cities in Norway" and do your own research. You can't expect people to dig up information for you which is already readily available for anyone with an internet connection. Most schools list detailed guides as to how to proceed with your application. Now, when you have done your research on the country, and found a selected few institutions to which you want to apply, you are free to ask questions which are more specific and more easily answerable. 3 Likes |

Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by trilobite: 8:21am On Sep 09, 2017 |
StarFlux: Do any have objections to applicants sending it themselves, provided its sealed? |
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by StarFlux: 10:38am On Sep 11, 2017 |
trilobite:Not sure. Should be specified on their application page, but I think most require them to be sent directly from your institution. I would probably ask them directly and explain the situation about this strike sef. |
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by trilobite: 12:26pm On Sep 11, 2017 |
StarFlux: as in eh!!! thanks for the idea. Please I implore applicants to bombard these schools with mails explaining the transcript situation right now, may be we (Nigerian applicants) can be given special dispensation. God help us!!! |

Please bosses in the house. I want to know if universities in Norway do charge application fee to apply for masters programmes. I want to know if the application is free from the beginning of applying till one is finally given admission. Like there is no need of paying token before starting application. I want to know! Thanks |
