Hello all, my car makes funny noise like when one is knocking on a door when driving through a bad or rough road. But the noise disappears when driving on a smooth road.

What could be the cause of the noise?

the village people are seriously knocking @ ur door.

anyways such noises are peculiar to your Ford mustang xle V20, only known solution is to remove the rear passenger wheel and drive like that.

Car is actually 06 corolla. Makes the said noise only on a bad road, but drives without a single sound on a smooth road

Thanks for your insight. I am suspecting it's the linkage. Though once in a while I hear a sound like "kpom" when trying to accelerate after halting

Check brake calipers, sometimes this can cause the sound. Also a physical inspection is needed for it too

Remember to check your engine seat too... Make sure the rubber is not kinda slack due to extreme heat from the engine

... Sorry, the rubber is not slack I mean, the rubber might have been warped due to extreme heat from the engine

The Tie rod is the culprit. The knuckles and bearing has worn out and it bears a heavy strain on the bow joints. It normally the front wheels. One day it gonna pull off, when you want to turn a sharp bend.

It's his enemies _nothing else.

Your stabilizer rubber is bad and also linkage arm. It happened to me too.
I changed both and am ok now.

my man don't go changing this or that, u might just be spending money on the wrong things. suspension issues are best diagnosed and fixed by a pro.....

ko ko and kpom doesn't really sound the same to everyone, some might see Koko and think it's coco! I'd only change and recommend​ a change in parts if the person recommending it is Gazuzz or someone with a long history or positive proxy recommendations like him ( don't want it to seem like I'm worshipping him tho, but I know almost everything I know about cars cos of him)

Bro, take the motor to panel to check the exhaust pipe for u. If the thing dey shake, e fit cause am. Cos, the thing go dey hit the body of the motor if u dey drive for rough road. I be don experience am before with the my pencil lite.

Finally took it for physical inspection, the driver's shock absorber is bad(mechanic said it got burnt) as well as the wheel liner.

Car is in perfect condition now.

Yea, that was his language. He said the force I landed with on the pothole caused it.

Not burnt probably bent and the gas escaped/leaked causing it not to rise when needed so your spring is coming in contact with the body or so.

Determine which side of the car the noise is coming from. Then check your sway bar links or muffler. Have it checked as first resort.
