@Arebo and @Alantobie, i believe your questions are in the same path so i'll go ahead and give an answer.

The main thing CIC look out for is the accessibility of funds available to you the applicant. The easier it is, the better. However, your sponsors must make their claims and commitment convincing enough without any suspicion. If they are working or own a business, include all relevant documents to show how they generate these said funds. if it was a cash gift or anything of sort from another source or person, make sure it is explained and if you have proofs, include them. Funding will go past the first year if your programs are beyond a year. They also want to be sure it is sustainable even if you have the required funds for the first year.

Funds for you the applicant can be a ONE TIME proof (Scholarships, funding, loans etc) and like i mentioned, if somebody else is providing funding, all funds made available to you should be explained and the sources proven. This is what makes your source of fund genuine and reliable.

Thank you for your reply

I really would love to have done an LLM program....but i do not meet the criteria of 3.5(70%) CGPA......as i have a CGPA of 3.1....but still should i just go for a Post graduate diploma/cert in Alternative Dispute Resolution?
and thereafter may lead to my push for an LLM programme? what do u say?

I would encourage you to apply for the LLM notwithstanding your current GPA, ensure your statement of interest for the school is strong and send them a sample of your final year dissertation.

as your are bent on a PGD. the alternative dispute resolution seems to at least make the most sense, it ties well with your law degree and current job function in HR.

LONG POST ALERT!

One very IMPORTANT thing to note and pay great attention to for those yet to apply for their study permit is your ability to satisfy an officer that you will return after your authorized stay in Canada.

How ever possible you can do this, ensure you do it convincingly. From your proposed course to your home ties to every circumstances around you. The onus is on you to do this. It is a REQUIREMENT under the temporary residence visa category that you return home even though there are incentives to make you stay after studies.

Have a compelling reason to pursue your proposed program. Many times officers can easily find something against the applicant so one shouldn't assume that because the course matched, all is well or because there is progression in your career, everything is fine.

A simple thing like a show of desperation, not paying attention and addressing concerns of previous refusal, over analyzing, second guessing or underestimating the discretionary power of an officer or giving too much or necessary details can cost you.

Leave your application simple. Meet all requirements, provide all necessary documents and importantly show that your intention is ONLY to study. Afterall, you are applying for a study permit. Don't be begging in your Statements of purpose/intent. (I have on different occasion seen this on SOP i reviewed). They already consider you a potential migrant, they look out for your value, interest and what you will bring to them. You are going to be an asset to them if your profile is good that's why they have alot to attract you to their country. The embassy is more like a selection council. Let them see these by themselves and not the other way round.

Chances are high for first time study permit applicants with good choice of propose program matching their personal status, interest, goals, career progression and sufficient financial capability(ies).
Applicants with previous refusal(s) stand a good chance too but ONLY when they have carefully addressed the reasons and show that studying is their overall goal.

We are not like other applicants from other countries that find it easy with documents and with shorter processing time, we must not compare ours with them. Processing times does not mean your application will stay that long, it is only the time frame it took CIC to process majority of the applications from that office. Apply for your study permit with the mindset that it is your first and last.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by GREGORIAN(m): 9:40pm On Sep 11, 2017
Please take note, for those patiently waiting for Gods grace, remember to be grateful and remain positive, just switch your frequency to: A final decision has been made your application has been approved, imagine your cic account displaying positive all through, always say ThankYou X3 to God, first thing in the morning(thank you God, Thank you God, Thank you God) and last thing at night, always edify your spirit with positive thoughts, some applied after you but have been denied...dont compare your application with those that applied after you, got trv before you and have traveled before you God has a better plan for you personally, be grateful for your application to have stayed this long without a negative status and believe your application will be approve...picture it approved and it must be approved, for those that have not gotten a medical call still be grateful because some have gotten a medical update but no final decision yet....ensure before you submit your application you adhere to cic requirements and standard...if your application has exceeded normal processing time and classes has resumed still no update from cic defer your program to winter, dont let it weigh you down, dont dull your positive frequency..because if you do your chances of getting your TRV reduces...show gratitude to your last update on your cic account..be it: biometric, medical mail, medical passed, ppr, trv, and finally POE...because you are always a step ahead of sumbody so be grateful to your current application level...TRV must fall on us

I just knew something wasn't so right about his claims. With all the blunders here and there coming from a student who has stayed years studying in Canada? It was too good to be true.
