hoeludayo39:Will your cousin be ready to go beyond just giving you his soa and give you the said amount he will be pledging? How much is you tuition(cos you only mentioned the fund giving to you be the school )? How much do you have on your own (including what your cousin will bring)? Answering the above questions will help. Just know that part from the tuition fee you will need atleast 10,000CAD (living expenses /year ) |

deratus:You need to satisfy the officer on why your proposed program is the best for you and why you choosed it. Why it is important to undertake it in canada. Why you prefer your proposed program against a master degree considering you graduated with a second class upper degree which is the minimum requirement for admission for a master degree program in most schools. Justifiable reasons are all you need to land your TRV. If you also can, get a master degree in your field. 1 Like |

valenti12: Thanks but I didn't ask anyone to pay for me. It's a different scenario. I only wanted someone who is in Canada to help me post a document to Quebec. I won't be that silly to ask people to pay for me. |

maziude: Hello Bro. I choose the program because I want to apply my mathematical experience in the field of computing. I became interested in the program when I realized it was mainly based on numerical methods and programming in Matlab and Fortran which was my favorite course during my Msc program. Thank you. Best Regards. |

Suplexx:1. Yes you will be allowed to work in Canada after studies. One year program has a one year post graduate work permit while two years program gives you around three years post graduate work permit 1 Like |

Jahluv: Sorry for your delay fellow mathematician. I don't know how robust your SOP is concerning relating mathematics to scientific computing, but I think you really have to work on that. Let me use myself as a case study, I did industrial mathematics first degree, statistics second degree and going for MSc biostatistics in Tue department of Community health science, which isn't too smooth for someone who doesn't know the terrain. I actually applied for a PhD but was granted a MSc admission. My GI st denial was partly due to the fact that I tried to conceal the fact that my admission didn't not merit a PhD so that the VO will not see it as a red flag, still it was seen as one. When I reapplied, I took my time to research into relating mathematics to statistics and then to biostatistics and explain reason why I was given a MSc admission instead of PhD that I applied and how my supervisor had advice I accept the admission to be able to do some prerequisite in epidemiology which is score course in biostatistics in the department of community health sciences where my admission letter came from. I also used a letter of explanation to stress the relationship between between my previous academic degrees and my prospective degree in Canada. You can try that, with God's favor it will fly, you can reach me on abestine@gmail.com if you require fine tuning your SOP or need my sample as guide... Ire o 6 Likes |

Zlatimi:If you are invested in getting your TRV, then I'm sure that you've been reading quality posts on this threads about how to prepare a good application. Read up on all posts by @austinpee4, @yemdogg, and all my posts on this specific page and any or all of my other posts. Also, Google is your friend. Once you have prepared an amazing application, then you may contact me to proof read. I won't respond to your email if you ask me to send you an SOP format or if you send me an SOP that hasn't sufficiently leveraged the information on this forum. You can PM me if you want but only after you have read and implemented the advise all over this forum (I rarely respond to PMs these days). There's a ton of others like @austinpee4 that can help maybe faster than I can, once you've already showed that you actually are willing to put an effort into justifying in an SOP why you want to go get a PGD in Canada. @jnyuwa02 also should be able to help you with your TRV SOP (@jnyuwa02, since you sort of already volunteered yourself, abeg help our friend here to facilitate expressing to the VO his passions, why he wants to get a PGD in Canada, and how he plans to use his PGD to both profit in and revolutionize a sector in Naija) |

thesoj: Hmnnnn. I have never been a proponent of PGD, its interesting you volunteered me. By the way, why do you call it a SOP? CIC asked for Statement of Explanation (SOE). Where did SOP emanate from? |

AugustChild: That is a lot of reason checked and appears on a first impression formidable to able to defeat. Purpose of visit can be defeated by a powerful, fire in the belly statement of purpose as to your mission to study in Canada. Why Canada and the course you chose in essence. If this is done well, about 2 to 3 other criteria checked should also fall. Whose statement of account did you submit? Why is your father's friend sponsoring you? You might want to explain cogently and convincingly. If you really serious in defeating lack of sufficient funds, you might want to pay up and show CIC receipt. I guess you have done so right? Present evidence for employment in Nigeria and explain why assets and landed documents you submitted will induce your return to Nigeria. Talk more about your volunteer work in Togo and how that experience has revolutionized your life and given you a strong passion to come back to make a difference in Africa. You should really do a smooth sailing if you do the right things here. 3 Likes |

Good Evening House, I have a little challenge that I need your advise on. I got a conditional admission and was asked to send my transcripts which I sent. I was later asked to submit a notarized copy of my certificate which I also sent and kept tracking via dhl. It had gotten there since Monday and I sent a follow up mail on Wednesday with no response. I later spoke with the lady in charge today who later confirmed that she just received it now and is working on it. She says it's takes 5 days or a couple of weeks for the hold on my admission to be removed. I'm bothered because time is against me as September is gradually coming to an end. My original offer letter is the only thing delaying the application of my visa. To crown it all I live outside of Lagos and my boss has given me just 2 days (Monday and Tuesday) to round up with whatever I'm doing and rush back to work. Please is it safe to apply for my study permit with my conditional offer letter in this scenario? Is there any other option? Is there any email I could write to that can add my new unconditional offer letter to my visa application after I've applied? Thanks guys. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Austinpee4: 9:33pm On Sep 15, 2017 |
deratus:The processing time as shown on CIC's website only shows the processing time it took that office to process majority of applications submitted. Often time, processing times are updated weekly so it doesn't actually mean any application would stay through the processing time on the website. So apply and worry less about the processing time, a decision hopefully should come WITHIN that time. |

jnyuwa02:I volunteered you because of your enthusiasm. And also because your suggestions on how the applicant can package an MSc application can also be used to package a TRV application. Strategy is same, just maybe different content. The name of the letter isn't really a big deal. SOP, LOI, LOE, etc... c'est la meme chose. You just want to convey your story/intent to the VO. 2 Likes |
