Honeydrop31: No document is asked to be brought for the interview except the necessary (visa payment receipt, confirmation printout, appointment printout - hope I got the names correct) anything besides that is YOUR OWN EXTRA. |

Good afternoon house. pls my sister filled her ds160 form. she works and her salary is 160k monthly and she has over 3million in her account.but she's scared of 160k as her salary will lead to her rejection cause its little. her reason for going is vacation and she has other businesses but she didnt include it in her form cause its not registered. she's thinking of not going for the fear of rejection cause of the rate of rejection in abuja embassy. people always say lagos gives more and i also was denied in Lagos. pls is there any little tips she can add? should she mention her business? |

Hello aremso - A valid visa grants you permission to travel to the US and request entry. CBP ultimately makes the decision whether or not to allow you in to the US. Some people who did not declare the intent to have childbirth in the US are allowed in by CBP. Some are not. If you are planning to have a baby in the US and you did not previously disclose that intent to a VO, you have two options. Your first option, and my recommendation, is to apply for a new visa without using dropbox, have an interview, and disclose your current intent to have childbirth in the US during the interview. This is the safest option, as your intent will then be documented in the system, and you are much less likely to be turned away at the Port of Entry while heavily pregnant after the expense and the long flight to the US. Your second option is to continue with the visa that you have, and bring all the necessary documents to the Port of Entry, and hope for the best. I want to emphasize this point, as I see it being discussed here often. Sending a "change of intent letter" has no effect. It does not go into the file or into the casenotes, it does not get to CBP in any way. The only way to ensure that your changed intent is documented is to apply for a new visa and have a new interview. aremso: 10 Likes 4 Shares |

cosade:Don't get me wrong... The way to do it incase of emergency is to apply for expedite appointment and secondly set up a surveillance system which have a good success rate in the night but not 100% guaranteed. Anything apart from that na format... because no one inside can arrange your appointment date. 2 Likes |

Sebastine1606: Thanks alot hoever, after the wedding in 2016 i went to the embassy with my wife to get visa for us on honey moon but we were denied though the VO kept hammering on the date we wedded which we told him the actual time but he kept hammering on the date we married then i later discovered i had booked the appointment and stated that we wre married b4 getting to the embassy then he asked us again which is contrary to the info in the ds 160 we got married in dec and we booked appointment in sept knowing that we would have married before then that was why i filled that we are married. We made our intention known that she wants to go and give birth and even with the evidences of payments of hospital bill and the correspondences, she was denied thrice so even with the intentions made known to them they still denied her. my question now is does making the intentions known to them guaranty visa issuance? |

No, if you were actually going to give birth in the US but lied about it or didn't reveal that information to the Visa Officer. Stories about not knowing you were pregnant, or getting pregnant later, is no longer believed. You may be deported or banned from the US, if you manage to slip through. The ball is in your court. aremso: |

aremso:That to me may not be the main reason for d denial, cost of birth may have triggered,on the other hand oohh, filling married in the ds160 in Sept as against the Dec marriage in itself, kinda looks funny.. .....you should have just left it engaged |

A VISA is A PRIVILEGE not A RIGHT. You may be the poster boy for 'strong ties' and not get it. You just be honest, and hope for the best. aremso: 1 Like 1 Share |

This forum has always been an educative one, thanks to all concerned. So, a friend of mine filled up DS 160 forms for himself and family and I discovered an error on it, though I don't know how much weight it carries. The error is simply that on all columns where he was supposed to enter their Passport Numbers which is always starting with A0, instead of the Number 0, my friend entered the Letter O on all fields in all forms. I just wanna know and need to ask if it really matters or he has to refill completely a new form. His interview is on Wednesday. LadyG, seyewest, LagosNIV, all are invited to advise, please. |

Hello @all and good evening. I must commend this thread/forum, esp those who selflessly take the time to answer questions from the wealth of their experiences. Kudos to all the pros in the house. Thanks once again and God bless. I have some questions to ask. I have an IV to visit my uncle in Florida for Thanksgiving in November. I'm a first timer (32). Work: Clergy. Married with a kid. I intend travelling with my baby (17 months). My wife wnt be able to come along cuz of her job. 1. If I apply now, will I be able to get an appointment on time for the journey? Or do I use an agent? Can they really help to get a quick appointment? 2. Can I endorse my baby on my passport? 3. It was suggested that going to Atlanta and taking a road trip to Florida is cheaper. Does that make sense? Can that argument be defended when interviewed? 4. Do I lap my baby or put her in a seat for the flight? How do these options affect the cost of travel? Do i need to take a car seat along? 5. What are the likely questions i'll be asked considering the fact that i will be travelling without my wife and with my baby? 6. What are the basic/required documents i should take for the interview? 7. What airline(s) do you recommend for that route? Thanks for your kind assistance. |
