Why do thses fertility clinics charge us so much self! IUI is the biggest rip off of all abeg

So u give the woman letrozole and hmg or fsh let's consider the prices

Fsh-- 7k per 1vial
Letrozole -- prices range from 3k-- 6k for pack of 24 oooooo (that means can be used for different women circles)
Hmg (FSH/lh)--- I vial 6k
Hcg --- 1vial 6k

Sperm wash media (used for sperm sample preparation....and what is d preparation abeg? To put d sperm wash media in a test tube where the sperm is then spin in a centrifuge i mean they have all that in d hospital already nau... And then bring it out take d seperation of sperm that would float up....into a new testube and add another 1ml sperm wash media then spin them together again....and put in the syringe.....dazzol oooo ) sperm wash media is so cheap even amazon has it in a kit as low as 20dls....in these OTC sperm test kits that are sold in walmart haba

What they use to inject the sperm is d same instruments used for an HSG only the special syringe for spem collection

Then the 3scans....one on CD 3 its called baseline ultrasound.....one at CD 13 to track follicles.......one to confirm before trigger shot and one during d iui procedure to confirm ovulation

I think you should do iui only if you are trained, and being watched over by a specialist... lets not in the name of trying to save money, do more damage to our already fragile body.

If you are trying to make the probability of the sperm meet egg higher, you can try using a menstrual cup (also called soft cups), for all those mama's also complaining of sperm leakage, this is one way, I have never tried it, but am looking at it.

You take clomid or letrozole (once your doctor has given you the go ahead to do so), then monitor your ovulation, TVS is the best option, when its close (your ovulation date), anytime you and your husband meet, when he cums, you use the cup to scoop the semen and place it in you, leave it like that till the next day. The cup does not interfere with your pee or anything, the next day, you remove it and wash it, then you can use it again. For those who don't need clomid, you can go ahead without it.

Some hospitals treat IUI almost the same way they treat IVF, the exception is that they don't harvest the eggs for you. I saw menopur online for $349 for 10. if we use 367 per dollar, thats 128k for the ten and you will be given 5.
i overheard a doctor asking for the price of sperm prep medium and when he was told 39k, he himself shouted. Now, if the hospital intends to transfer sperm twice, it means that they will use like two bottles of the sperm prep @39k each. if you have male factor issues, they will probably have also issued drugs to DH to boost count and motility.
Then you will be given HCG shots to ovulate and probably other injections to regulate progesterone.

Let's remember that most of these drugs are imported and affected by exchange rate. plus they have to be stored at certain temperatures so that they don't loose their efficacy. the doctors sef g chop and pay staff, na for where person dey do e dey chop.
With all this o, 150k-200k is fair. But if its just letrozole no sperm wash and one HCG shot, that 35k sef is plenty.

meanwhile, se you know that some hospitals in Lagos charge 1.5m for IUI?

For those who want to buy kit and do at home, check amazon. if it's not one of the items they ship directly to Nigeria, there are plenty companies that now allow you buy things from the obodo oyinbo and deliver to you here for shikini money.
