maziude: I thought ticking I HAVE A RELATIVE in Canada will be a red flag to my application in regards to my home ties. That's why i opted NO as my option in my first application. But nevertheless, thanks for your input. You have a point there. It will be very tough for me to convince the V.O that i made a mistake on my first application by saying NO. I think I'll use my maternal Uncle which i used before, while my Brother pays my bills. √But do you think with my brother immigration lawyer over there in Canada i can win the case of having opted for NO(sounds stupid anyway). |

jnyuwa02: Well, I think i made a wrong decision by ticking "I DON'T HAVE ANY RELATIVE IN CANADA" that will be my fall if i should go ahead and use my Brother who is a citizen of Canada. √Please what in the case that my maternal Uncle whom i used in my last application doesn't operate with a domicilary account and he can't transfer Naira into my domicilary account. Can i buy dollars from BREAU DE CHANGE and deposit the money into my dorm account in his name? My question is it complusory for him to transfer since he don't operate with dorm account or can he deposit the money into my dorm account, with his name as the DEPOSITOR.?? |

Frankrobbn1: If he can deposit money into his dorm account in his name, which is totally possible, that would be your best bet. Or you can deposit money into your Dom account in his name. That too is possible. Man you are a man of twist and turns. 2 Likes |

jnyuwa02: Lol. "A MAN OF TWIST & TURNS". I need to take advice's before submitting my next application and i don't want to take uncalculated risk this time. Thank you so much @jnyuwa. I think I'll deposit the money in his name into my dorm account. Your suggestions is perfectly okay and acceptable by me. I'll put everything in place this time. |

I was delayed last week, the reasons were purpose of visit and travel history . My intended program was a PGD in sustainable business practices, I studied animal sciences as my first degree and I work in a bank. However, I have decided to pursue masters in agricultural economics at university of Saskatchewan. Please I need help with a convincing SOP to tackle the earlier raised concerns. Thank you all for the encouragements, you have no idea of how you guys' resilience inspires me. |

guzenaira: I had to change my sponsor about two years ago, and it didn't affect anything. I got the study permit. Except that applicant stated in previous app he had no one in Canada, and such lies are flagged RED. But if it is possible for the new sponsor to pay one year tuition and raise a bank draft for one year living expenses in applicant's name, that would tackle the issue completely. Because what worked for me in 2015, may not work for someone else in 2017. 2 Likes |

Philadelphia: You must have been offended your question was not answered. Home ties have little or nothing to do with parents. Home tie is something capable of bringing you home after your short stay abroad. For instance, a well paying job, an immediate family like wife and children, fixed assets etc. For parents, I don't think it's a strong home tie because the VO knows at some time you will have to leave your parents, so you won't return to Nigeria because of them, except, God forbid they are sick or dead. 1 Like |

deolutolu: O boy! The VO took time to write an epistle for you. I'll advise you to change your course to something in your line of work or that relates to your previous studies. You may write a compelling SOP and use ASUU strike as one of the reasons you're incurring such cost, because a time lost cannot be regained, and other naija factors too. But the best bet is to change your course. My opinion. 4 Likes |

Jpandjp1: Please go for the Masters. We've seen people that did just a 12-month program and they got 3 years PGWP, and I also know someone that did a year program, got 1 year PGWP, and used the PGWP to secure Alberta PNP certificate, now she's a PR. Don't cross the bridge before you get there. Tackle the issue you have right in front of you first, and let the issues for next 2 years rest for now. I'm not saying you shouldn't plan, but take it step by step. You stand a better chance getting Study Permit with a Masters program than PGD. Besides, with 18 months program, you should get your 3 years PGWP. My opinion. 1 Like |

Good day house.. Please i need your take on this.. I was delayed August for insufficient funds( reason from my gcms note: recent lump sum from unknown origin). I have deferred my admission to Winter 2018( school promised sending my updated letter this week). I am presently re-packing my application paying attention to every aspect again not just the finance(s).Also a note from sponsor(s) explaining all necessary deposit in his/her account with proofs as much as possible) Presently I am at a cross road. My first application my Sponsor(Dad) and a CO-Sponsor ( My aunt in England with proof of relationship..same family(Surname) name before her marriage and also her marriage certificate shows my mum as a signatory. This i rightly pointed out...other relevant documents inclusive). For this new application i am trying to fix the following with knowledge gained via this trend. 1. My Aunt is willing to send my upkeep for a year to my Dorm Account( Newly Opened ) 2. My Sponsor also willing to pay a year tuition but here is the issue.. I submitted two bank statements from him for my previous application: His main account which is his salary account and also the account he receives rent from his building investments(i submitted a deed of attorney to this regard and other relevant documents. He has a business account which has not been too* active(near dormant) for the past two years(CAC documents available but the last tax receipt was 2013). He recently received a loan from a micro finance bank and says he prefers to pay my tuition from that account. I know if i present that bank statement there might be concerns about how come that fund came through considering i didn't submit the statement initially and also that kind of cash deposit has not been regular in the account. On the other hand i am considering him sending the cash to my naira account while he attach a receipt of transfer of my tuition to me and i pay my tuition( i will also present my bank statement to this effect) without having to present his business bank statement. Another thing is, if i pay my tuition from his main account, it will lower the funds there much and i might still need to present his business account to argument. Please kindly help out with your views. |

deolutolu: I see this in many GCMS notes, almost in verbatim. ASUU strike still does not solve the fact that there are private universities who are never on strike in Nigeria, for which you can afford if you can afford Canada. The way out is the strength of your statement of explanation. Why Canada? Why the school and course you have chosen and why that cannot be taken here in Nigeria. Objectives in Canada and Future plans upon return to Nigeria also need to be critically laid down. Good luck. 3 Likes |

ayooluwatoni: jnyuwa02: I look at the response and the bold above and i shook my head for Nigeria. i have even forgotten that there is ASUU and i quickly remembered that there are some students whose institution is on strike for about a year now. Then you remember CIC wanting to see home tie, people will always come up with it. Now, the people that are called ASUU are the ones lecturing in the private universities who dont go on strike. which way my country? sorry for the digression, i was only thinking loud and had to share. |

I just finished my national diploma in animal health and production technology with 3.69 out of 4.00 and I would like to study veterinary medicine in Canada. I wanna ask if my national diploma diploma will be considered and be allowed to put in for vet medicine bcoz I heard one has to do undergraduate before he can be allowed to do vet. so will they take my ND as the undergraduate |

Adejames97:Hello sir You should check the various schools and their requirements for admission, Some might require O'level only or with some level of advancement or not open to international students SO, better still, mail their international students department and make your enquiry because nobody here can ascertain your admission to a particular course except the schools but check these: PS (cost friendly i know of) UofGuelph UofManitoba UofSaskachewan |
