Nwebele: You are welcome. Don't go for PGD, It's part of the culprit for the delay. Do the hard and needed work now and get into a masters degree. It will go a long way in aiding your visa aspiration. Only go for PGD as an absolute last resort, if you cannot get into a masters program. |

some people are the source of their refusal. it not the number of documents you presented that will give you the visa. the first impression the VO has about your application immediately he/she lays hand on your application will determine the outcome of your application. Don't give or volunteer unnecessary documents in the name of proving your case. In immigration profiling which is the first tool of the visa officers, there is what we call "suspicious signs", one if the signs is the overly cooperated applicants. They are applicants that overzealously present documents not needed. That suspicious impression goes a long way in shaping the decision of the VO. Just presents documents that are relevant and answer the grey areas or possible questions that may arise from your dossier. 8 Likes |

Nwebele: Hello madam, Seriously to get into masters with HND with lower credit is not a realistic dream (but l believe nothing is impossible). Fine you studied Secretarial studies & obtained HND w/lower credit. Why don't you look into below programs that are career progression for a secretary: * Administrative Assistant * Executive Assistant * Office Assistant * Client customer service * Business administration w/specialisation in office managenent. Although these programs still come in Diploma or PGD/C. Do a thorough google search you will get them in some colleges even universities. The purpose of visit would be conquered here. Secondly to tackle your financial side follow the below suggestions: * Open a dorm account in your name & ask your sponsor to transfer 1 year living expenses there. * Pay part of your tuition - upload d receipt/telex copy in your application. * Then the big thg is SOP/LOE (Statement of purpose/Letter of explanation. Here l would say going by your study gap you can buy into @Jnyuw02 about you talking of d challenge of home front blah blah blah, then need to brace up & pursue your career with new skills & knowledge required for a modern day secretary or Administrative Assistant. Also we can never over emphasised your future goal of gaining this new knowledge & your end game as per what you're coming to use it for in Nigeria (try & carve a niche for yourself here) Lastly what is God saying about this decision or plan of yours cos its important. If its God's plan then the ground is soften and it will end in praise for you. Anyway l am a female & an Administrative Assistant. You can pm me & let's collabo. I got these knowledge & understanding on this platform after my initial Visa denial having read all the old pages like a wounded lion. I like these guys @thesoj, @yemdogg, @Austinpee, @Canadian nurse, @ wealth 360 etc.... Very selfless people l pray may God reward your service. 5 Likes |

Gshun: Speaking officially: You can self sponsor your study. However, I'm suspecting the VO would look at your records (years and salary level) of your employment for you to arrive at the (large) amount of money you claim to have ...people don't just come about money without source. In the alternative, you must show that there would be A sustaining source of income during your study. Speaking from me to you: Bros, am not gonna lie to you. If no one is willing to help. You may have to help yourself regarding the account o. If you know what I mean. Add that to the fact that you must produce pay slips and letter of employment that justifies the money you claim to have. But again, I trust you'd be able to sort yourself now that you have the knowledge. 2 Likes |

I'm considering a coursework based masters program in instrumentation and control system engineering or any related course (I'm to understand that I might not get it as a direct course in Canada)....please what's my admission prospect looking like, which schools would you recommend i look out for and can I get any form of funding with such a grade. |

jnyuwa02: Speaking of using a sponsor who is based in Canada, this is my case which I'm trying to tackle bfr submitting my application for Jan school entry. I initially chose my maternal uncle based in U.K as my sponsor, but after speaking to him, he made it clear to me that he will not be able to pay my fees and transfer fund to my dorm account, but he can provide other documents, like SOA, Landed Property doc in U.K. Even when he eventually sent his Personal Company SOA, the balance wasn't good enough just 2,700 GBP. I became worried. But I have a Cousin, same surname with me who is a Medical Doctor in Canada, PR. That can comfortably sponsor me by paying my first fees and transfer to my dorm acct. Though I'm yet to inform him. So my question is, can I go ahead and use my cousin that resides in Canada as my sponsor?, will it raise any red flag If I do so in terms of home tie."possibility of returning home after study" Gurus, everyone Please kindly make an input Thank you |

Philadelphia: Oh no! I didn't mean you needed to have one, I was just answering your question on family ties. My opinion is they use family ties to garnish an already established reason for refusal. I think it's rare to refuse an application solely because of that. I know other countries do it, but I don't think Canada do that. However, you could demonstrate family ties in much other ways. You could share your plans after your program in Canada. For instance, you could say you intend to join the workforce of your dad's company upon returning to Nigeria, and positively make impacts by applying the knowledge and skills you'd acquire in Canada. Or that you have a promised job offer, but you needed to complete the program as quickly as possible to actually get the offer. Come up with something that would convince the VO that you would return to Nigeria. 2 Likes |

vikmeek: You may want to confirm this information, but I think funds available for your studies can only be in your country of residence or destination. Submitting bank statements which is neither in Nigeria nor Canada may have caused a prob for you. Anyway, that's gone. On the current issue, you may be painting yourself shady by claiming you have someone in Canada when you told them earlier you didn't. If your new sponsor trust you well enough, tell him to pay your tuition for one year, and raise a bank draft in your name for your 1 year living expenses. You won't have to change anything. You'd retain your old sponsor and have him write you a letter that he paid your tuition and raised bank draft in your name for your living expenses. 1 Like 1 Share |

ayooluwatoni: Thanks bro, but there is a little mixup, I'm not d moniker that talked about the issue not having someone in Canada in his former app, and want to use him as sponsor in his new app. Iv never applied for a study Visa bfr, this will be my first. I saw ur reply and noticed it relates to my present issue. So I want to enquire if I can use my cousin(Same surname) who resides in Canada as my sponsor. As d proposed sponsor(maternal uncle) said he cannot pay my fees and transfer to my dorm acct. Is it still safe to use a relative in Canada as main sponsor( owing to home tie issue being experienced currently ) |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by ayooluwatoni(m): 8:20pm On Sep 19, 2017 |
vikmeek: Oh! Sorry for the mixup. I think it's safer and better to use the sponsor in Canada. He'd be able to pay ur tuition, and raise bank draft for you. Ask for his last 2 or 3 years Notice of (Re)Assessment and bank statements for the last 6 months. There's no harm at all in disclosing you have someone in Canada. You only need to demonstrate to the VO that you intend to leave Canada after your program in Canada. I wish you Goodluck. |

belle94:You will not be able to track your application because the tracking number was given when you did your biometrics and you cannot track it now that it has been updated on your account as 'Completed'. All the info you need about your application will be on your account and not on VFS website. |
