Win na win. Plus CS too. But no be this kind win we want. We totally surrendered in the 2nd half. I wont even blame anybody sef. All i know is Matic-Fellaini pivot na dead and lacks zero creativity |

lekkie073: Playing poorly is different from not playing attractively. You can play unattractive football and not play poorly. Today we were unattractive and poor. We gave the ball away easily and weren't in the game for almost all of the second half. It's not so bad if we play unattractively as long as we win. I won't bat an eyelid if we play a game poorly and win as long as we aren't poor in the next game. But we've been poor for the past 3 or 4 games (except the mid-weak Carabao cup game) but our wins (and goals galore) keep overshadowing it. This run of poor games is what's raising red flags to me. If we keep playing poorly it's only a matter of time before we lose a game (or start losing games). If we play against Tottenham or Liverpool like we did today we'll surely get beat. Lukaku won't get the chance to score because he won't get into goal-scoring positions. We really miss Pogba, but he was in the game against Madrid and our performance in that game was awful as well. That's what I'm saying. |

Caveatemptor: If we get served this same sh*t in the UCL and next weekend, we should forget the league. |

joeace2020:so you drop your most inform winger because you want to "respect" Southampton? I'm happy with the win, the display not so much. we had 6 defenders on the pitch in the end, SIX. NAH

What a disgusting performance from Mourinho, that's the definition of Park the bus, USELESS MANAGER. We were outplayed in every facet, I was too wasted to watch the match, I just finished watching 80 minutes of it and that was all it took to switch toFIFA 18...RUBBISH COACH. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 6:21pm On Sep 23, 2017 |
Too many angry fans this evening o, I don't like this Something happened today which I still don't understand. We played well in first half before everything went downhill in the second. It was due to the bad play that Mourinho had to change to defensive football. Is it that motivation reduced on our part and increased on Southampton's part? Was it d half dressing room talk that killed our morale? Whatever it was, cheer up my Manutd fam because I know Mourinho would fix it |

Leyqute:I understand u. just that all team have their own dynamics. mancity team on their worst day would still play beautifully without winning. ok, assuming u r left with two options.... a- play poorly and win. b- play superbly and lose. which would u choose? |

lekkie073:It's not the goals brother but the performance. A 1-0 scoreline does not mean the team was poor. We had a lot of draws last season but with some great performances. So it's not the goals but the piss poor performance today. |

joeace2020:this guy and another guy are the only ones that made sense with their posts. I can't understand why mourinho is being slammed here for doing the right thing. Shey na mourinho dey pitch de play this nonsense our players played in the second half? Or maybe na him tell them to play nonsense intentionally. He did what any sensible coach will do when his team is winning by a solitary goal and playing shiit, shut up shop and get the win then go and bang heads in the dressing room after the game instead of bringing in attackers and just because we are United and they are soton thereby dropping points. The most important thing is that we won, we got the 3 points despite playing badly, we were able to eke out a 1 - 0 win from a tough match. This soton team regularly gives us trouble whenever we play them even during SAF's regime. We played poorly today and we should never repeat this display again. I see some folks crying over city and their goal difference bs, una de expect us to win 4 or 5 each match day? Haba!! Also for those complaining about our draw at Stoke and Chelsea trashing them, remember that Stoke played with one recognized centerhalf today since shawcross, Cameron and zouma(ineligible to play against Chelsea) were missing and on top that, Hughes committed hara kiri by removing indi when 2 goals down and bringing in a midfielder which ultimately backfired. 2 Likes |

KingTom:Bros. Everton ate presently worse off than Southampton. It seems u've forgotten how they were giving the ball away b4 we finally got lucky with the one Fellaini intercepted. Even at that, there were moments in the 2nd half vs Everton when they were all over us in midfield and failed to score. Today was simply an eye opener that a team with a better midfield ll run riot over Matic-Fellaini. Am happy qnd all for Fellaini's improvement so far. But we need someone else to pair Matic in Pogba's absence going forward |

lekkie073: If you play well and take your chances, you won't draw or lose many games. If you play poorly and give the ball away cheaply, you won't win many games. That, there, is the difference between Manchester City and Crystal Palace. And I'm afraid we're slowly (emphasis on slowly) tending toward Crystal Palace's direction. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Lana1(m): 6:36pm On Sep 23, 2017 |
SailorXY:Exactly. He should try Matic-Herrera next game. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by codedguy1(m): 6:36pm On Sep 23, 2017 |
lekkie073: You seem not to get the point. If a team plays superbly consistently and loses games initially it will a matter of time they start getting favourable results, but if a team plays poorly and but wins we all know that is not sustainable. Man u should not be having this type of display even in a day we play terribly. The performance in the 2nd half was a disgrace. Itvwas there was no fight in the team and we just surrendered the midfield and hoped that theybwont score. We all know there would be difficult games where we would need to grind out results but today was an eyesore, the 2nd half specifically. |

@lekkie, a good example is Everton. They started well but along the way, began playing poorly. As a result they lost 3 consecutive games. If they didn't put in the effort today they'd have lost as well. |
