larrytorch:The issue of sufficient funds meeting CIC's requirement is unambiguous and clear. Have equivalent of your tuition and living expenses atleast for the first year. The more you the applicant make this fund accessible to you the better especially when using a sponsor. I would say yes, open an account for yourself and if possible a dorm account as funds in convertible currency will show exportability of these funds when necessary without much hindrance through forex policies and all. Your dad being your sponsor makes it even a reliable sponsorship. All he needs to do is in addition to the funds, he should add all his source(s) of income, his proof of employment or business and also add a proof of his relationship to you. (birth cert). Large sum deposit or as you put it money lodging is when a significant amount of money enters an erstwhile inactive account prior to the application or when funds that does not over a 6 months period give or show the average income of the applicant/sponsor leading to the available balance are deposited without a proof of it's source or origin. Also, available funds that will meet the requirement can be a one time proof (scholarships, loan, funding, etc). So since you are using your dad, he MUST show he can meet this obligation of sponsoring your study. Conclusively, have your funds for your tuition and a minimum of 10,000CAD for your first year. The more these funds are accessible by you, the better. In doing this however, it must be logical, convincing and without doubt that said funds will be available to you. Sometimes, it is advisable to pay your tuition and have funds for living expenses in convertible currencies. This will allay any doubt as to your access to funds for your first year. Quick question... Would be submitting my application latest friday... I am considering online route. The IMM1294 and IMM5645 documents, do i need to download and fill and upload them or while on the process I would be asked to fill. Kindly remember that I would be opting for online route. Secondly are those the only documents/forms we would be uploading? |

Good evening all Pls I applied to university of Manitoba, I have first class honors in human anatomy and ielts 7.0... The application procedure just demanded I state a name of a supervisor which I did. I don't know if I have to contact her cuz it wasn't stated there in the application guideline. PS; I applied Anatomy and cell science. Pls any advice on other Versities I can apply to in canada without application fee... The the thing is really preventing me from making multiple applications... I'm in dire need of your contributions. Thanks and kind regards to us all. |

cdokoh: Almost all schools in Canada don't give application fee waiver. Try McGill University since you have first class. They have application fee waiver, but it requires that you pay the application fee first and later on document how impoverished you are to get the money refunded back to you. The other one I know, University of Saskatchewan, gives application fee to people applying only from war torn areas. Sudan is the only country in Africa that made the list. Good luck. |

You've got a good profile here. However, I once fell of victim of this your scenario, I applied to university of Manitoba stating a name of a supervisor while applying without contacting him. Lo and behold, I got rejected with reason of non acceptance by the proposed supervisor. Please contact him/her immediately. Did you apply for a Course based or research master's degree? In either case, you must contact them, that's UofM for you. Mine was course based cdokoh: |

With your GPA, I think you should make use of Google as no one here can guarantee you a master’s admission with your cgpa. Personally, I would advise you try colleges, you stand a good chance. Alternatively, try and search your proposed program on www.universitystudy.ca then make list of Universities that offer the program, get their program coordinators' email and submit your enquiry. They would surely get back to you to ease your worries. plankx: |

GREGORIAN: Yes sir I am very sure God is for me and nobody can be against me. I did not "run" the survey cos I don't have their time. But if they give me some incentive to fill it, I would. I took a survey one time and they rewarded me with a $20 shopping gift card. The conspiracy theory with no evidence that you flout is not the reason I am not taking it. Simply because I have no time is the reason. Others who have free time should take it. 1 Like |

Good morning all, please I need some help, I applied for TRV on the 12th of June, 2017 and on the 28 of August, I was sent a request letter asking me to pay my full year tuition and provide proof of source of income of my sponsor plus number of dependants he had in his household, all of which I did by the 7th of september and uploaded the documented proofs alongside letters of explanation all just to be shocked by a refusal on the 21st of september and I am still yet to receive my correspondence letter as is hasn't yet been uploaded to my online account after even getting an email that my account was updated and that I should check for a message. I just need some closure and that correspondenc letter would have been a good start I have ordered GCMS though and its a masters degree program at Uwaterloo, Electrical and computer Engineering Undergraduate program :computer Engineering (1st class). Sponsor lives in Canada, a PR Cc: jynuwa, Austinpee4, Gregorian, maziude ...please anybody that can at all help |

Markab: But I thought U of M offers admission based on the approval of supervisor. If your supervisor doesn't approve of you or is not available, the department will write to you. As a matter of fact, your supervisor will be the one to forward your name to Faculty of Graduate Studies for approval. Pls what course are you talking about here?? |
