You've got a good profile here. However, I once fell of victim of this your scenario, I applied to university of Manitoba stating a name of a supervisor while applying without contacting him. Lo and behold, I got rejected with reason of non acceptance by the proposed supervisor. Please contact him/her immediately.

Did you apply for a Course based or research master's degree? In either case, you must contact them, that's UofM for you. Mine was course based

I applied for course based... I sent the supervisor an email but she hasn't responded.
And I've already submitted the application...

Good morning all, please I need some help, I applied for TRV on the 12th of June, 2017 and on the 28 of August, I was sent a request letter asking me to pay my full year tuition and provide proof of source of income of my sponsor plus number of dependants he had in his household, all of which I did by the 7th of september and uploaded the documented proofs alongside letters of explanation all just to be shocked by a refusal on the 21st of september and I am still yet to receive my correspondence letter as is hasn't yet been uploaded to my online account after even getting an email that my account was updated and that I should check for a message. I just need some closure and that correspondenc letter would have been a good start
I have ordered GCMS though and its a masters degree program at Uwaterloo, Electrical and computer Engineering

This is quite a surprise. It is the first of its kind and only your GCMS note can say for sure what result to that Ugly decision after requesting you to make payments.

Only you again can determine what happened while awaiting your NOTES by asking yourself these questions;

1. Did I misrepresent myself by anyway in my application considering your main application and the additional explanations you made while uploading the additional documents?

2. Does your sponsor have too many dependants that could hinder his ability to wholly support you in Canada without you working there?

However, I believe some of our experience gurus might have more to say but GCMS note first.

Please, stay strong and look forward to overcoming this setback at the edge of breakthrough. I imagine you started packing your bags immediately you uploaded those additional documents they requested. I feel sad.. really sad and surprise

shocked shocked na real wa o! Refusal after meeting their request? Hmmm.
Hope you did exactly as you were instructed.

Anyway, since you don't have the correspondence letter, we won't know what the issue is. While you wait for the correspondence letter, you may want to send them an email citing the non inclusion of the letter in your account after a final decision was made.

It's possible the documents you submitted did not meet their requirement or satisfied the officer or Maybe, an error was made, just maybe!

Good strategy by your supervisor as international students need to budget 6 months for the visa process. Yes you can travel to Canada months before the start of your classes. As far you are not going there to break the laws by working illegally, you should be fine. Known many people who have done it.

Perhaps you met to the financial requirement and it's on another ground you were denied. Purpose of visit is my thinking. Those saying perhaps CIC did not get the documents you sent, clearly you said you uploaded them, not sent them. So they must have gotten it. That is my guess at this time. But don't be discouraged, order for Gcms while you wait for notification letter. Restrategize and address any concern with a second application.

Good afternoon all,

This will be my first time of commenting on this thread even though i have been a silent follower for some time now. I am simply humbled by the shear volume of information on this thread. You guys have been awesome.

This is my concern and i hope to get help. I am currently applying to Conestoga College for a PGD. I noticed to complete the application, i need to upload all my documents including transcripts. The problem is My school doesn't give transcripts to students. They only send transcripts by mail to your school of choice.

For you guys that have applied to Conestoga please how did you do it? Or which address do i tell my school to send transcripts to? I have combed the entire conestoga website. i cant find any information on where transcripts are sent to. Please i need your help guys.

It is well. I got accepted to University of Manitoba without any green light from potential supervisor. I inputed the name of an associate professor with related research interest during the application, I sent him an email, no response.

The best thing to do is ensure you understand the department application process you're applying to, strong statement of intent(Biographical sketch) and good letter of recommendation.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Markab: 2:42pm On Sep 26, 2017
In my rejection note, they wrote the supervisor didn't accept me. My program was MEng Civil Engineering. So since my admission refusal, I'd always advised anyone applying to UofM to ensure they contact supervisors even for course based master's programs before submitting their applications because it's my belief that A professor would not accept you that had not contacted him over who did contact him
OmalichaUC:

But I thought U of M offers admission based on the approval of supervisor. If your supervisor doesn't approve of you or is not available, the department will write to you. As a matter of fact, your supervisor will be the one to forward your name to Faculty of Graduate Studies for approval. Pls what course are you talking about here??

I was equally requested to submit transcript when I applied which I did. Your school may not have availed the transcript to you but ordinarily, you should be given student copy. I don't think there is provision by Conestoga College for receieving it by email but I think you can mail them to state ur predicament. Good luck

Hello, I've visited the CAC. To incorporate an NGO would amount to about 150k, that's quite a sum. I was thinking, what if I join an NGO within me that offers the same package, and get a letter from them when the time comes. will that still fly? This is the kind of question my sponsor would ask me. Thank you for your response, cheers.

Its too much money, wow I didn't know that. Where are you? Here in Plateau where business is down and they are trying to encourage business and NGO to come to the state, its less than 50k. Just go find an existing NGO and bootstrap yourself there. That should work. You need to work extremely hard on your statement of explanation then if that is the case.

With your GPA, I think you should make use of Google as no one here can guarantee you a master’s admission with your cgpa. Personally, I would advise you try colleges, you stand a good chance. Alternatively, try and search your proposed program on www.universitystudy.ca then make list of Universities that offer the program, get their program coordinators' email and submit your enquiry. They would surely get back to you to ease your worries.
