I am watching the match live and I expected Anderlecht to be beat Celtic comprehensively. However, they are loosing 2-0 at home. Celtic us the dominant team hear and look mire likely to score with 2 minutes to go minus injury time.

So I am at loss how you can be loosing at home and the commentators are saying Onyekuru is the best player here.

That's not what I am seeing at all Onyekuru is from what I see is struggling to get a dominant foothold in the game.

Ooooooh no 3-0 NOW !!!

That comment was made wen the contest was at about 22 minutes

Nigerian Players Watch in the Europa League:

BATE VS Arsenal
Alex Iwobi will not travel to Belarus after sustaining a thigh injury (Good news for Aaron Samuel?)

Konyaspor VS Guimaraes
It's unclear whether Konyaspor forwards, Imoh Ezekiel and Patrick Friday will be involved as they welcome Liga NOS side Vitoria S.C (Guimaraes)
Ezekiel have suited 4 times for the Turkish modest side, whereas, the relatively unknown Patrick Friday have only managed 62 minutes. Friday has scored one goal since joining Konyaspor from Arabian side, Al Qadisiya.

Lazio VS Weregem
Peter Olayinka is most likely to make the trip to Italy, with Waregem
Compatriots and teammates, Kingsley Madu and Bala Aliko, are not expected to make the matchday roster, as they both have not been capped at the domestic level so far this season.

Lugano VS FCSB
There are no official reports about Stanley Amuzie's work permit application status in Switzerland.
It is very unlikely he will make the squad that will welcome Steaua of Romania.

Ostersunds VS Hertha Berlin
Alhaji Gero (Ostersunds) will lock horns with Jordan Torunarigha (Hertha).
Both players are expected to make the bench for their respective sides

Plzn VS Beer Sheva
Super Eagles duo John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme will be at Doosan Arena (Czech Rep) to face Victoria Plzen

Rosenborg VS Vadar
Samuel Adegbenro's Rosenborg will welcome Macedonian champions, Vadar FC.
Adegbenro is expected to start for the Norwegian side.

AC Milan VS Rijeka
Rijeka Number one shirt, David Nwokolor is currently Rijeka's third choice keeper. He is expected to at least make it to the stands in Milan grin

AEK VS Austria Wien
Muazam's Europa league debut loading.

Everton VS Apollon
Lookman Ademola's Everton welcome Apollon of Cyprus.

Locomotiv VS Zlin
Moses Ekpai Ubong's Zlin are away to Locomotive Moscow

Partizan VS Kiev
Theophilus Solomon is expected to play a part for Partizan as they trade tackles with Dynamo Kiev

Skenderbeu VS Young Boys
Albanian side, Skenderbeu which has Orelesi Nurudeen in their roster, welcome Young Boys of Switzerland.

We have so many players in the Europa league, and a handful in the champions league. Very impressive considering our football in the past few years.

Soomer rather than later.

Football memory is very short indeed. He Onyekuru will struggle to get into Everton with this set up in Anderlecht not sure what his status is otherwise work permit issues will suffice and hinder his move to play in the EPL.

Or he better go to a Church in London and pick one of the tens of thousands of single Naija ladies looking for husband. That will change his status.

football in England is over rated, but the league is the most interesting, if u select up 70 % to 80% of your players from EPL,you can never reach quarter finals in world cup.
if u select all players from EPL,thank God if u make it from the group stage.

You are misunderstanding the point completely.

The EPL has the highest number of international players in the world. More so by a huge margin than any other league in Europe.

This means that not many English players get to play for the top teams essentially because they are not good enough. It's great for football but not for the English national team.

I hope you understand me more now.

The EPL is not over rated but very highly rated as the best league in the World. If you have players in the top teams in the EPL then they will be top class players just like Iwobi and KC.

I was speaking about Mikel.

As regards Onyekuru. I must say the irony is the craze for the EPL is what is killing MOST of our young players' development. And that has always been my opinion.

The trio of Gent, Genk and Anderlecht did pretty well and the Europa League last season.
We can't judge by one season alone.
We've had seasons as well were EPL sides did badly.

Liverpool Complain To UEFA Over Racist Insults Directed At Nigerian Messi

Liverpool have sent a complaint to the parent body of European Football, UEFA, in the wake of their UEFA Youth League clash against Spartak Moscow at Futbol'noe pole 4 Spartak in Moscow on Tuesday, September 26.

According to the online edition of The Telegraph, Liverpool have made an official complaint to Uefa after claiming one of their youth players was subjected to racial abuse in Moscow.

The Reds argued that Ibadan-born winger Bobby Adekanye, dubbed the Nigerian Messi in these parts, was subjected to racism during the game by the supporters of Spartak Moscow.

The former Barcelona wonderkid was insulted verbally and with racist gestures when he was introduced in the 59th minute, and the remaining 31 minutes he spent on the pitch.

Liverpool academy director, Alex Inglethorpe, attended the game and reported the incident to the Uefa official on duty.

Adekanye, 18, joined Liverpool in 2015 from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

You're forgetting that Rohr would have about 2 months to open camp try out new players before the world cup. Either way, I will still make the case and Joel Obi (if he stays fit).

We'd also need to try out a few new goalkeepers as well, but I am sure that Rohr already knows that one.

For a young player, he is really becoming too injury prone for my liking. What can possibly be the cause? Lack of fitness?

Mikel: We respect Zambia, but it’s time we wrap this up
By TheNFF
Updated: September 27, 2017

Super Eagles' Captain, Mikel John Obi has declared that though the three –time African champions have respect for 2012 AFCON winners Zambia, the total commitment to ensuring early qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals will see Nigeria wrap up the campaign next weekend.

Captain Mikel, who has had a marvelous run in the qualifying series, playing commendable leadership role, told thenff.com that he is fully dedicated to the assignment of leading his teammates out on the turf of Godswill Akpabio Stadium to secure the sole ticket in Group B on 7th October.

“I must admit that I applaud the resurgence of the Zambians this late in the qualifiers. Beating Algeria home and away is no mean feat. We will take them very serious on 7th October because they clearly have a new spirit. It is time we wrap this up.”

Speaking further on the relative smooth –run the Eagles have had in this campaign compared to earlier FIFA World Cup qualifying races, the former Chelsea FC of England midfielder pin –pointed professionalism, determination and ambition as the factors that have swung the pendulum Nigeria’s way, whilst also heaping praises on Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr.

“We have all shown professionalism, dedication and determination to be at the pole position in a group tagged 'Group of Death.'

"Commendations must go to the entire team and the Coach, but we must finish it up in Uyo and secure our ticket right there.”

AIK Got Me Cheap.. They Must Treat Me Like The Quality Player That I Am -- Obasi

By Joebie|Nairaland

Photo: Bildbyrån

Former Super Eagles forward, Chinedu Obasi has sounded out a warning to his club, AIK Fotboll, that only an improved pay package will keep him with them after his contract expires this winter.

He did not mince words when interviewed by Sportbladet, when he said, "I do not know If I will remain in this club, although I would love to. The management must give me a contract that reflects the qualities I contribute to the team, and treat me as the quality player that I am."

Obasi made it clear that he had other offers prior to joining AIK. And because he considered the club like home, money was not his priority.

"I just said yes to the offer I received, that was not so much, and I would as well be honest with that...I actually expected a better contract this summer. What I got this summer made me disappointed. However, I do not want to let go, but just be honest. I could also have chosen other clubs, but AIK is a kind of home to me and I know the people here. I think, however, that AIK was surprised when they got me so cheap", he told the Swedish newspaper.

Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi will be hoping to give his career the needed boost right in time before the FIFA world cup in Russia next year. He has scored 3 goals and 1 assist from 4 matches since rejoining AIK from Chinese second division club, Shenzhen. He had bagged 5 goals and 7 assists from 17 games in China.
