Hi Sir.
Good to hear you have your documents in place and ready to submit your application soonest.

As to arranging your documents, I think VFS WORKER will be the one to arrange your documents and make sure everything is in place. So don't worry about that since you're going for paper route.

You're expected to submit Originals of Bank Statement, your original INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT and photocopies of documents because it won't be returned back to you after your application must have been processed. Your Passport is the only document that will be returned to you.

In regards to payment info... You're expected to make your payment at the cashier at VFS office. You should go with at least 56k...

Once you have your documents in place. walk directly to the VFS and submit your application and take your biometrics as well.

If you have your SOP, you can PM some experienced Gurus here to help you review them before submission to avoid errors and story that touches.

This is my input. Gurus can give answers to this, if there was anything i omitted.

cheers!

Hi, is it compulsory to submit International Passport? What if I need it pending the time my application gets approved.
I remember reading somewhere on this thread that CIC requests for original passport after going through your application.

Every application is unique in it's own way and tell it's own story irrespective of whether there is an SOP or not. Some applicants tell their story from their achievements and how progressive their academic inclination appears. SOP like i always say can help your application and at the same time mar it. Depending on what an applicant is trying to convey, it may or may not be necessary.
Two persons recently got their application approved without one. Mine too was approved without one. So it all depends on what you want the VO to know about your application/intention.

That someone included SOP to his/her application shouldn't automatically translate to it being compulsory. The VO are already trained to know what would make sense and what wouldn't. However, i still recommend it especially when there are discrepancies or when you need to share your passion around your proposed program or need to clarify concerns of a previous refusal. It whatsoever case, know why you are including it.

Austinpee4, are you in Canada right now in school? How do you get so much time to get on here? I never got any updates from you unlike the CanadianNurse, Maziude, TheSoj and others, updating the house on their trips and POE encounters. Keep us posted!

Bro thanks a lot for your detailed and clear answer. My intended course of study is an MSc and for 2years. With the details above does it mean the total balance I should have must cover the entire two years (tuition + cost of living for 1adult and child) as stipulated by cic? Or at least 1yr?

If it is a masters program and you are gong with dependents, then yes, your finances must cover the full study period of two years.

See the financial breakdown below based on your information (two adults and a child). You can adjust it to suit your circumstances.

Tuition
Student - $14k per yr = $28k for 2 yrs
Child - $12k per yr = $24k
(if less than 5 years, plan for daycare, avg cost is 1k )

Maintenance
Student - $10k per yr = $20k for 2 yrs
Child - $3k per yr = $6k
Spouse - $4k per yr = $8k

Total Expenditure = $86k (with child < 5yrs of age) or $62k (with child > 5yrs of age)
Today's exchange rate is N287 to $1CAD.

Looking at your current finance, the VO wants to see that you would have access to cash easily
so unless you have a buyer for the land, I left that aside, and added the others together..it came to $79k CAD.

My advise, go for a fully funded Masters program, that way your finances would be sufficient. Although the VO might want to see which home ties you would have if your family is coming with you..but some people have been able to scale through in the past.

hope this helps. Other gurus can come and lend a voice in this issue.

Please be advised that it is compulsory for paper route applicants to submit their passport, because once your application is approved, a letter of introduction will be attached with your passport and sent back to you.

√√ Also be guided that those that cic requested their passport after their application most have been processed are online applicants and this happens when there is a positive outcome on your application... i.e APPROVAL.

Since, you might make use of your passport during your application process, i'll advice you for online route then.

I hope this information helps.

cheers!

well i have a friend who pleaded with the VFS officers, and they let him scan all the pages of his passport and pay for courier, so that as soon as passport is requested it can be couriered to the embassy. i doubt they allow this all the time, but it can be a last resort.

@cc: @danadigun234, @mamacajah answered your questions. Nothing to add.

Considering all this calculation done by @mamacajah, why not consider applying first, then later on apply for your spouse and kid to join. That way, the financial burden is a bit reduced(for now). Honestly, the VO will want to see much more than what @mamacajah (I don mention you tire... no vex) calculated above.

In my honest opinion, you should apply first and they can join you later.

But then the decision is yours to take but let your finances be at par with your decision too.

PS: I don ask this question before and nobody don answer me. Why e be say una wey don marry wan carry wife or husband follow body when una know say na just a matter of time dem go join una? (if na children i gree... but for oga/madam)

That's the only email address of the accra visa office known to the public. There is usually an auto generated response once you send an email through it. If you didn't get that, then you may want to try again maybe monday. Possible their mail box is filled at the moment. Nobody can say for sure.

Prof. Maziude,

I presume you are married, what God has join together let nobody put a break. smiley

BTW, leaving my wife will be kind of difficult most especially being a loving and industrious woman.

Taking a break for sometime is not a bad idea but my brother, aside all I said above, it's tough when you reason other things added on to it.

We need to weigh the options and go for what suits you and be ready to pay the price like the issue at hand.

But the best is to let your family stay behind and join you later.

Clearly you don't understand what it means to be married and leave your family behind for an extended period.

What kind of response do you get?

How often do you send them mail?

If you send too much mail, then there is possibility they blacklist your mail address.

Try using another mail address but if it's one of your few attempts then there is possibility that the mail box is full.

Try again later.
