Jos – The entire city of Jos and Bukuru metropolis have been deserted following the decision of Ndigbo living in Plateau State to close shops. The decision was in solidarity with the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, which called for statewide prayers 24 hours to the touted quit order given to Ndigbo living in the North by Arewa Youths. Though the order was later withdrawn, CAN had called for fasting and prayers for the unity of the country, ahead of the country’s 57th Independent anniversary. The entire stretch of Ahmadu Bello Way, the hub of commercial activities in Jos and adjoining areas of Terminus, Muritala Mohammed Way, Taraba Balewa, were all deserted as Igbo traders obeyed the directive of the umbrella Igbo Community Association to stay away from their business areas on Saturday. Though there was no restriction of movement, Most markets like like Gada Biu, Satellite market, Kugiya market, Bukuru and Building Material along Bukuru highway were under lock and key. Residents were advised to congregate in their local churches and pray for the country. Main church services were however held at St. Jarlath Catholic Church Bukuru and headquartsrs of the Church of Christ in Nigeria, COCIN, in Jos. There is however apprehensions in town as residents move about cautiously. The state government had announced a dusk to dawn curfew in the wake of the clashes that occurred last week. It was relaxed from 12 midnight to 6 am. It is not clear whether a 24 – hour curfew will be imposed on Saturday as rumours are rife that the state government is contemplating such measure to stem any rise in violence. www.sundiatapost.com/2017/09/30/jos-stands-still-as-igbo-close-shops/ |

This is no life for a man. This is how a rat lives out its life. The stupid Igbos still bent on making money over their lives need real brain adjustment. I can tell you honestly, that you will make it easier in say Ghana, Gambia, Gabon than you will in that God forsaking land of the Phillistines 21 Likes 3 Shares |

Just imagine the discomfort and apprehension that Ibos are facing now because of the rabid and toxic bucal cavity of the runaway empty chest beating coward. What a shame. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Did Arewa give this quit notice in 2016 or any time before then? Fact is Kanu sold hate, some of his kinsmen embraced it, broadcast it beyond their domain yet expected maybe a warm hug. Life does not work like that. You sell hate, you get paid in reciprocal hate. Take your medicine with your eyes open. 31 Likes 7 Shares |

GavelSlam: This is where you miss the point. Are the Igbos right in ther protest against marginalisation? Yes and rightly so. The truth is the Igbos embraced the fight against all forms of marginalisation and only a few leaders in the east could speak up boldly against marginalisation - thats where Nnamdi Kanu came in. Likes of you, politicians, the media and Nnamdi kanu too started mixing things up with hate. That's why Nnamdi Kanu didn't get 100% support from the east not because we don't see the marginalisation but because Igbos value lives and genuinely beleive in freedom (to a fault) - the right to aspire, the right to speak and the right to fulfill your dreams. Igbos naturally detest subjection, this shouldn't be confused with hatred towards others. 31 Likes 3 Shares |

istandfortruth:Dont mind those fools..This idiots forget who started the hate speech. So many igbos were against nnamdi kanu sef but as arewa issued quick notice and gave possible hints of another genocide against igbos, everybody eye don clear. Any igbo man who lives in the north or south west, aside lag who isn't bothered about the safety of his family and investment is a big psycho...The north has never been safe for Christians especially igbos but unfortunately igbos go there for business because the north always receive more funds from the government as they are they are the only true owners of Nigeria. No other state in Nigeria can match kano genuine allocation infact by half sef. I wonder why the other major ethnic group will rather enjoy being marginalized and prefer to always be second fiddle and constantly jubilate when given meagre peanut. As their son na vice president life just dey sweet dem wela like say osinbajo get say. If not for biafran civil war which the igbos lost..All this bullshit for no dey 18 Likes 3 Shares |

istandfortruth: It was love Kanu was preaching on his radio Biafra no be so? Isn't that why he's being nominated for the Nobel peace prize? When you claim you guys are marginalised, are you more marginalised than the Tiv? Please tell what federal presence they have. Are you more marginalised than the Edo, Igbira, Jukun Calabar, Akwa-Ibom, Plateau ? Everyone has a right to agitate for more, a right to express displeasure or even ask for separation. But nobody has the right to insult everyone from the peasant indigenous people of other tribes, threatening their existence and religion in doing so. How many of you said anything against Kanu's modus operandi? You can try to twist the truth but thank God for the Internet never forgets. The time lines are there to see. Arewa gave the sack order months nay years after your Lord and saviour went broadcasting hate and even asked for their killing. They are even civil trying to rescind their earlier proclamation. Sadly, many of you who have never gone beyond alaigbo, who have never made any investment in human life or assets are yet to repent of your ways. Shame on you lot. 31 Likes 5 Shares |
