Did Wenger really say this? Because I didn't see the interview. If he did (and that's a big IF), then I think he's making a mistake because Iwobi's game should not be evaluated on the basis of the number of goals he scores or doesn't score. He's more of a creator not a scorer - an Iniesta type of midfielder, if you will.

Having said that, like I had said several times on here, Iwobi would need to add goals to his game if he wants to maintain his position. because, as a black African man, that's basically the only way he can stay in the first team at a big club like Arsenal. Jay Jay would've played for teams like Real Madrid or Manchester United if he were a prolific scorer.

Arsene Wenger : Iwobi Must Contribute To At Least 16 Goals Every Season

Speaking at a press conference following Arsenal's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday, manager of the London club, Arsene Wenger, has set a target for Alex Iwobi, saying the Nigerian must contribute to at least 16 goals every season.

The Nigeria international shrugged off an injury before netting his first goal for the Gunners since January 2017, and his display against the Seagulls was pleasing to the eye.

''I think he’s a kind of player who has a good availability,'' Arsene Wenger stated.

''He helps you a lot to get out of pressure when you are in a build up game and creates spaces.

''What you want from him is final balls and goals as well. A player like him must score 10 goals and he must as well give between six and 10 assists and that’s what I want from him.''

Alex Iwobi made his sixth appearance of the season in all competitions against Brighton & Hove.

Did you read during his time at San Siro? Matthaus played multiple roles including DM and CB.

Greatest Ever: Football's Top 10 Defensive Midfielders of All Time

1. Lothar Matthaus (GER)

Matthaus was the only defensive midfielder to make it on to the original central midfielders list, and it's not hard to see why. His five World Cup campaigns remains a record for an outfield player, as does his 25 World Cup appearances.

During his club career, Matthaus won seven Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, a Serie A title, and two UEFA Cup titles. Internationally, he helped Germany to the 1980 European Championships, and led them to World Cup success ten years later.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/231097-greatest-ever-football-the-top-10-defensive-midfielders-of-all-time

It was at Inter Milan Matheus won European footballer of the year and so many other individual awards. At Inter he played primarily as an attacking midfielder.

Hahahahahah! This girl just like wahala, I swear. grin

Wetin man do na? grin

Make I no talk wetin I see again? Shuuuu! shocked grin

I am not even talking about the weakness or strength of our team. I am only discussing what I saw when I watched the Zambia's game and I noticed they rely on crossing the ball from the wings.

Virtually, all their goals came from the wings during this campaign hence the need to block or stop them from the wings.

Besides, there is one guy Orchestrating the play from the midfield and I think he has to be tamed.

But here you are talking about hate and your feelings when you know they are inconsequential in public domain where opinions should/must differ. grin

This is no longer Football matter girl. Hold yourself and stop expressing feelings that has nothing to do with soccer in public domain.

Even this feelings are fake because you are in a fake cyber World where Saint could be mistaken for devil or devil mistaken for saint. grin

Now, put that behind you and let's talk Football.

It depends on where the coach plays Mikel.

If Moses Simon and Victor Moses have athleticism are they to hold the Zambian's wingers? grin

My focus is to curtail the Zambian's wingers. It's as simple as that but if you have different opinions share them and stop using emotions to deal with the society.

That level of mind set is low. grin

Of course, we have a better team than Zambia but with wrong selection and tactics, believe me anything can happen.

Manchester City has better team than Chelsea is only in your dreams. grin

You know I have this image in my brain of you always with a smile on your face as evident with your use of smilies regardless what's happening.

Roy Keane was a proper thug. Read up want transpired in the famous pizza gate saga.
Roy Keane ended the career of Haland, a Man city player in one of the most horrific tackles every seen in the Epl. Roy Keane was a proper thug.
You have no idea what you're talking about if you think he was a technical genius. He's an Irish skin head who kicked lumps out of people.

I agree with the larger part of your view.

He was definitely not a technically gifted player, a simplistic ENFORCER with a bit more intelligence than Vinny Jones. Defensive midfielder who prided himself as the hardest man in football.

Keane's autobiography in August 2002, in which he stated that he intended "to hurt" Håland. Keane's account of the incident was as follows:

I'd waited long enough. I fucking hit him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you cunt. And don't ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries.

In today modern game he would not be able to make it into the premiership. Beyond bully boy tactics which worked in the EPL at that time, he didn't offer much more.

Never forget the day Thierry Henry got into an argument with him. He tried to get rough, but Henry mesmerised him with skill and left him for dead.

He will be in the list of most red cards in the EPL and that's with alleged favouritism given to Fergies players. He Keane should have been given a lot more than he got.

That is my problem. Why talk when you do not know. Roy Keane is genius. He is a great of the game.

In his last season, Roy Keane had a high successful passing percentage of 89% compared to Carrick's 80% in 2005/2006 season, one factor affecting this may be Carrick's inclination to play the long ball more often than Keane.

He made 123 dribbles and run in his last season, completing 82% of it.

You can say Chai because you do not know. I have asked you to contribute but you are yet to say anything. Roy Keane is a footie great more than just a tackler, fighter or enforcer as people make him out to be.

Alex Ferguson even bought Veron to replace Keane and he could not. Keane was an anchorman in the team.

Patson Daka in injury scare
October 2, 2017
2528 views

The Zambia bench is sweating on the fitness of striker Patson Daka who is coming to camp with a knock.

Daka reportedly sustained a minor injury while in action in the Austrian league on Sunday with RB Salzburg in their 2 -1 home win over AC Wolfsberger.

The Zambia striker came on as a 68th minute substitute with his side already well on their way to collecting the three points.

FAZ spokesperson Desmond Katongo said Daka will miss Zambia’s three-day training camp in Ghana as a result of that while he is receiving treatment in Austria.

“Daka will meet up with the team in Nigeria from his base in Austria,” Katongo said.

“The reason why he connecting later is that he picked up a minor injury and his clubs’ medical team wanted to do a thorough assessment of the injury.”

Zambia is already without their top scorer on 7 goals Brian Mwila of Platinum Stars in South Africa.

Mwila failed to recover from a knee injury he sustained on September 2 in Chipolopolo’s 3-1homewin over Algeria in a match he scored a brace at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

But Daka’s club mate and midfielder Enock Mwepu will join the team at its Accra camp on Tuesday together with Edward Chilufya of Swedish club Djurgardens.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper and Captain Kennedy Mweene, defender Stopilla Sunzu, striker Fashion Sakala and midfielder Chisamba Lungu were all expected to arrive in Accra on Monday.

Zambia leave Ghana for Nigeria on Wednesday ahead of their October 7 penultimate date away to Nigeria in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifiers.

Nigeria and Zambia have 10 and 7 points respectively heading into the crucial Group B clash.

Cameroon has 3 points and Algeria have one point with two rounds of matches left to play.

FLASHBACK:

Culled from sportsdayonline.

He said the Zambian team that lost at home against his squad is not the same side that beat Algeria 3-1 in Lusaka and 1-0 in Constantine.

Rohr further noted that six new players have been injected into the Zambian side, especially from the team that won the Africa U-20 Nations Cup earlier in the year.

Among the new inclusions, WHO Rohr noticed did not feature in the last October duel with Nigeria, are Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala, Chisamba Lungu, Augustine Mulenga, Brian Mwila and Ziyo Tembo.

Two of them got vital goals against Algeria that have put Zambia in contention for World Cup qualification, while Patson Daka scored the lone decider in the reverse fixture.

“There have been changes in the Zambian side that lost to us and the team that beat Algeria 3-1. I am aware they have new boys in the team, but I will watch the video of the double-header against Algeria over and over again and that will be a clue of what we should work on.

“We are not done yet. We need to put up a good fight against Zambia when they come to Uyo next month.

“Only fit players will play against Zambia. Nigeria should not be under pressure, we are going to take the match as if this is the first match of the World Cup qualifiers,” Rohr stressed.

The man was a brawler. A thug, I was surprised TheGoodJoe tried to talk about his technical abilities. The mam was famous for his ferocious tackles, brawls, fights and thuggery.

We are talking about a man who said he loved seeing players in pain.

Ireland assistant boss Roy Keane has delivered a stark warning to his players ahead of Euro 2016, saying they should be carrying knocks because they should be hitting people hard.
Manchester United legend Keane forged a reputation as a no-nonsense hard man in midfield for the Red Devils during his trophy-laden career at Old Trafford.
He has told his players it's a 'man's game', and that they don't need to take pain killers every time they pick up a slight injury.

My reply is simply you making out Matthaus as a creative midfielder primarily. He was also def as a Dmf and CB. Finish.

I am shocked you saw this post on Redcafe and tried to play down the ability of Keano.

Completely agree. He and Robson simply couldn't have been our midfield generals for over a decade without being top class passers, that's how it's always been at this club. Keane was the one running our midfield from the moment Ince left to the moment he went to Celtic. I can understand things like "Vieira was the more gifted footballer" and "Keane's will to win stood above all else" being misinterpreted by the younger fans as him being a destroyer but I can't understand people watching him week in, week out and thinking that.

When he was named in the PL team of the year with Forest he was an attacking midfielder bursting on ahead of the forward time and again. In his first couple of seasons with us you'd see him running up the wing or getting into the box every bit as often as you'd see him in his own half. And to suggest he couldn't unlock opposition defences? Crazy. His passing unlocked plenty of defences and if that wasn't working he'd just go on a typical driving run like so:
