Tru. But that's the kinda comments you get from a typical woman, even from the so called avid soccer fans, when you ask their views on a hot topic like, "Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who is better?"

You'll always hear stuffs like "Ronaldo for me because he's hot".

And I'll like 'woman, this isn't a beauty contest'.

It is a Man Utd forum anyway. You expect to see people exaggerate things. I picked comments by those who were unbiased.

From my memory, his passing was good. I do think some people are being overly poetic about it though, perhaps to counter the other extreme. If we are constantly saying 'he obviously wasn't a Scholes though' - that is kind of the point. He wasn't a brilliant passer. That's what it means to be a central midfielder who is 'obviously not a Scholes'. I can't think of other midfielders who are not in the Scholes, Pirlo, Alonso etc bracket of passing being remembered for their passing. Doesn't mean they had two left feet, but it wasn't good enough to be called great.
All that 'he didn't play Hollywood passes but was a master at passing it 5 yards so the receiver didn't break stride' - again, just sounds like poetry to me. I believe there are many midfielders not known for their passing who could have the same said about them. They should not be called poor passers but we shouldn't get carried away either. Of course, if Keane was more expansive in his Forest days then fair enough, I don't really recall.

He wasn't a fantastic/excellent passer by any means, if he was, then what words would we then use to describe Scholes, redondo, pirlo, zidane?

To find people in a Man Utd forum who say he was a rich man's Lee Catermole is an indication to what he truly was all about.

I saw Zidane, Nedved, Scholes, Reycoba, Okocha, Valderama, Riquelme, Rivaldo amongst others, I can't associate Roy Keane being in the same technical level like these guys. I'm sorry

[Photos] Inside The Marcel Dessailly-Owned Facility Where Zambia Are Training For Super Eagles Clash
October 2, 2017 4:15 pm

By Kayode Ogundare in Accra:

The Chipolopolo of Zambia may have missed a chance to go to Europe to prepare ahead of the World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria but settled for the next best thing when they choose to camp and train in neighbouring Ghana and at a facility owned by former France captain Marcel Dessailly.

The facility, located in the East Legon area of the capital on a large expanse of land has adequate facilities of international standard which could aid in preparing any team for a major championship.

Named the Lizzy Sports Complex, after Dessaily’s mother, the complex boasts of one 11-aside football pitch and three 5-aside astroturf pitches which are all in perfect conditions for playing football.

It also has a semi- olympic sized swimming pool and another one for children. There are also a multi-purpose court for a standard basketball and volleyball court as well as five changing rooms.

What do you think made Mikel an enigma in 2005 WYC? Do you think he was spraying acrobatic passes allover the field? No it was the metronome passes that made the team tick. Simple but strictly intelligent passes, making the right decisions always.

I watched Mikel and exclaimed. I hope Maradona has seen how to play the ten role. That was the genius of Scholes.

How can you learn when you avoid the multitude of good reviews and hang to a few negative reviews as a balanced report.

The concensus of the thread is Keane was a fantastic passer. It is very clear to even you. The point is exhausted. You have learnt with vast amount of points.

It is up to you to learn or not. The point is clearly made. I will leave you with another quote.

I've never seen a player who dominated games like Keane. Not even Scholes. His excellent passing was integral to that.

Another unbiased quote

Roy Keane had 3 abilities that in my opinion made him stand out.

1) He made everyone work close to 100% - everyone was afraid of him, and knew they would get it if they didn't perform.
2) He never lost the ball. You could play the ball to him - almost regardless of where he was, and he would keep the ball. This probably had a lot to do with a lot of players being afraid of Keane, so they wouldn't pressure him the same way they will di Maria.
3) He made the right choices - his passes weren't necessarily brilliant or hard to do - they just were right. He never made it harder than it had to be.

Keep deluding yourself. You should be thanking me for enlightening you about Roy Keane.

This is what I found on reddit forum

" Everything Roy Keane achieved in football wasn't because he was the most talented or the most creative it's because he wanted it more than anyone else. I probably wouldn't like him as a friend but I'd love if he was on my team.
Now he was talented and he was creative but what singled him out was drive. I hate United but his performance against Juventus in the '99 semi-final, especially after he was carded and knew he'd miss the final, was ridiculous.

The first sentence should guide you to know what Roy Keane brought to the table.

Talent and will to win are two different things. Having a huge drive can never take away from ur talent.

Little known fact: van Gaal named Roy Keane as the best player in the world in his WPOTY vote in 2001 - and he was the only person to do so. Given how obsessed van Gaal is with technique, intelligence and possession, you'd have to think Keane was just a little bit better on the ball than some people are making out here. He saw that first hand home and away against his Netherlands side and anyone who saw that game will tell you he controlled the tempo in both games.

The same player you tried to make poor. No matter how you try to dribble, the point is very clear. Keane was a good footballer. A very good one and you were wrong. Learn or Argue. It is up to you.

Man Utd fanatics will always belive their players were better than they naturally are. Alot of people on the thread had fun exaggerating his abilities.
Even Keane himself will feel flattered if he read some of those comments.

You could see some of those who tried to give an unbiased view of his game were lambasted for not being real Utd fans.
This is one of those unbiased views.

AVB took Chelsea to quarter final?

My man Di Matteo took Chelsea to quarter final after turned d 1st leg 3-1 lost to Napoli in d 2nd leg by winning 4-1.

My man anything to say again

Pls stop ridicule d big boss

Stephen Okechuckwu Keshi made his debut for Eagles in 1981 at d age of 19 and made d team to Libyan 82,later bench Chairman Christian Chuckwu during d tourney.

Keshi remain d youngest player to captain Eagles at age of 22 in 1984 afcon

The big boss left d country in frustration after Group Captain Tony Ikhazoboh ban him from national team just coz he represent NNB in WAFU cup final and couldn't make Lagos camp d same day

As God we have it Stade fc in Abidjan safe his career by signed him up,after 6 months,Lokeren in Belgium came calling and signed for Lokeren.

Keshi moved to Belgian giants Anderlecht after a season with Lokeren and paved way for so many Nigerian players namely Austin Eguavoen,Samson Siasia, Etim Esin,Ademola Adeshina,Chidi Nwanu,Peter Rufai, even a Ghanian Nii Odartey Lamptey, just to mention a few.

Big boss was d first Nigerian to ever played in final of any UEFA competition (Anderlecht vs Sampdoria)which Anderlecht lost by 2 goals to nil courtesy of famous Italian Legend Vialli.

Keshi moved from Anderlecht to Strasbourg in French league, singlehandedly took Strasbourg from 2nd division to division 1 and paved way for young Nigerian players like Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Okpara who was signed by Strasbourg through Keshi's recommendation.

Big boss was d first Super Eagles captain to qualified Nigeria for world cup, despite a terrible knee injury that sidelined him for months, Keshi returned and captain d team against Algeria in Algiers,a very tense match that we need a draw, thank to Findi goal.

Till today he remain d highest goal scoring defender in Nigeria, his goal ratio better than King KANU.

Also only player in Nigeria to lead Super Eagles to 2nd round in d world cup as a player and coach.

Keshi remain d only player in Nigeria to lift sfcon as a player and coach,so respect to a great Legend that comes out of Africa.

The first African to coach three Africa national team, namely Togo,Mali,Nigeria.

Keshi w be remembered for qualified tiny Togo for biggest football event in d world(world cup)

Truly he failed to qualify Nigeria to 2015 afcon, but his pedigree as a player and coach cannot be debated or ridicule.

Respect to d big boss Stephen Okechuckwu Keshi.

Of course, I respect him as a player but as a coach? grin
