My belief has always been "people are people." Human beings are human beings, and will always exhibit human characteristics, irrespective of their skin color, gender or religious beliefs.

I think you're the one trying to make a non-existent argument.

It's not the name of the perpetrator that causes people to label a crime a hate crime. It's the motive.

You can see that the Las Vegas police have announced that they haven't yet discovered a motive, so the crime has only been labelled a mass shooting, not a terrorist attack.

Yusuff Mofeshaiyelo is an armed robber. He is also a muslim. When he commits robbery, his motive is to get money to spend on bïtches. We don't tag it an Islamic attack because his motive was not to kill in the name of Allah.

If however Yussuf went and started shooting people, while shouting allahu akbar, or in the name of the prophet...then that's a different story.
