OGN may come back few hours of the match to say Rohr made a U-TURN. Ezenwa now to start.

Jobie be sincere what is d different between Akpeyi and Ezenwa even Ajiboye.I watched Ajiboye against Guinea i notice is even more composed than Ezenwa.

When we are kids if we don't believe in our keeper,do u know what we normally say'na God we put for post'

Honestly am not that disturb on our goalkeepers again coz Ezenwa has done it against Cameroon and is still available for selection.

Akpeyi is available but majority don't want him coz of SA match,if we want to go by SA match, then apart from Mikel,Balogun,Moses,Ighalo, others should go coz d whole team failed us against SA.

Sincerely speaking, Akpeyi doesn't LOOK confident between the sticks. It's surprising going by his exposure.
Ezenwa is much of a showman. I guess that's what he does to kill tension. And it's helped him a lot. However, the Ghana game exposed him. He may not be to blame for all the goals, but conceding 4 goals in a match doesn't look good for any keeper.
Ajiboye, on his part, we have not seen enough of him. He MAY just be the best of the trio. He needs more games for us to really tell.

Overall, choosing between Akpeyi and Ezenwa can be tricky.

I seriously doubt it. The only way I can see them scoring is if Rohr makes the mistake of starting Daniel Akpeyi in goal shocked

Naija sports journos are the worst in the business. So Ezenwa has been on "holiday", huh? Somebody was played all the matches at the just concluded WAFU tournament. And we're talking about a tournament that ended 10 days ago!

It's definitely a bloody waste of time relying on naija newspapers for anything especially football news.

OwnGoalNigeria Report:

Exclusive – Chippa United Ace Akpeyi In Line To Start Ahead Of Ezenwa Against Zambia
October 3, 2017010

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr ‎appears to have handed back the number one spot of the Super Eagles to Chippa United ace Daniel Akpeyi, according to scoop gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com.

Injury ruled Akpeyi out of the Eagles last World Cup 2018 Qualifiers games against Cameroon, with Ikechukwu Ezenwa manning the post in both games but Akpeyi is back to full fitness and in line to return as the first choice of the team.

Akpeyi has been splendid between the post for Chippa United in their last three games in the Premier South Africa League (PSL), with two Man of the Match award to his name.

On the other hand, Ezenwa has been on holiday since captaining the Nigerian B team to a second place finish at the WAFU‎ tournament in Ghana, a tournament which he was voted the best player despite conceding four goals in the final against Ghana.

Bingo! As I had said over and over and over again: take away Cristiano's goals, he's useless to any team. Anybody can score goals if you're playing with the likes of Marcelo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco, Casemiro, etc. All Cristiano has to do is to play at the shoulder of the last defender and meet the final pass. Does anybody realize that a vast majority of Cristiano's goals these days are mostly tap ins!

And I am not the only one that have said this because even Sergio Ramos once said openly that Cristiano is excused from doing any defensive works because he's expected to score 30 goals per season for Real Madrid.

The real super stars like Messi and Maradona can change the game even without scoring goals. You cannot be the best player in the world if all you do is score goals....there's more to football than goal scoring!

NGR VS ZAM: The Similarities in their Road to Russia
Joebie|Nairaland

1. Zambia has scored in every game in the road to Russia.
2. Nigeria has as well.
3. The only thing Zambia has not achieved but Nigeria has is beating Cameroon at home. But that's because that match has not been played.
4. The only thing Nigeria has not achieved but Zambia has is beating Algeria away. But that's because that match has not been played.
5. Zambia and Nigeria's scoreline away to Cameroon is identical. Not only that, Cameroon needed Vincent Abubakar to equalize from the spot on both occasions.
6. Zambia and Nigeria's scoreline at home to Algeria is identical. Not only that, Brian Mwila scored a brace against Algeria, just like Victor Moses scored 2 goals against Algeria. It will also be interesting to note that all the goals scored by Nigeria and Zambia in their Algeria home tie were all scored by players with their shirt name starting with the the letter M. The other scorers being Mikel and Mwepu.
7. Another coincidence as seen in Point 6 above: ALL the goals were scored in similar timeframes, with Algeria's goals (Brahimi and Bentaleb) sandwiched between their opponents 2nd and 3rd goal.

All Eyes On Ola Aina As Chelsea Defender In Line For Nigeria Debut Vs Zambia
Published: October 03, 2017

Chelsea product Ola Aina is hoping to make his competitive debut at senior level by stepping out onto the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium turf on Saturday evening.

The former England U19 skipper caught the eye of manager Gernot Rohr, and even the players, when he trained with the national team at their get-together in London about six months ago, and has been considered for all Nigeria squads since then.

However, Aina could not debut against South Africa and the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Uyo as the process of tying his international allegiance to the Super Eagles was only approved by Fifa on September 1.

Having made the bench against Cameroon in Yaounde, the right back wants to go one step further by featuring against the Copper Bullets, which would make his dad proud of him.

Just before departing the English capital to link up with the Super Eagles in Uyo, Aina tweeted : ''Looking forward to International Duties#SuperEagles''.

Chelsea colleague Victor Moses and Aina's family friend Alex Iwobi turned out for England's youth teams before their maiden appearances for the Super Eagles, and the London-born defender is eager to follow in their footsteps.

he's a bloody striker! His work is to score goals, of what use is a striker who doesn't score? His USE is to score, not to defend or create, to SCORE....why you people want to diminsh his efforts is beyond me. You must all be Messi fan boys. CR7 has broken how many goal scoring records and some of you still think he's no different from any other striker

This argument is appalling to read.

My brother, I am considering declaring another fasting and prayer session, but I will wait until I hear it from a good authority that Rohr has decided on Akpeyi. I don't think that's gonna happen tho. I mean, not after Daniel Akpeyi's piss poor performance against South Africa and even against Algeria ... but who knows?

the thing tire me oo. His teammates will strive to create great chances for him atleast 10times in a match and he puts away 5 and everybody will forget the rest of the players. Hardly can you see another madrid player scoring 30goals a season because all the chances are for Ronaldo to score. Anyways let's stop spamming the thread

It didn't look good for both keepers as well.
How does it help Ezenwa's case especially considering Rohr does not see him as the number one? That it happened in his last game will tilt it in favor of his competition(Akpeyi), who is coming into this game with good club form.

All I'm saying is, its a tricky choice. But I'd rather go for Ezenwa. Let his showmanship calm my nerves.
