I might misinterpret what u wrote but here is a short answer to all ur argument. U might think u are what u are not but every one sees an African when they see one and only act nice when they want something. We have something that most economies on the planet cannot live without but care less paying for it. People!! see ur place in this world and act accordingly economically, militarily, socially and culturally, that is if u all want to survive at-least to the next couple of centuries. I mean African and Africans who thinks they are not Africans. Your actions must help all of us or u are being a liability. It might be harsh but it is what it is. The last time malaria helped us from being wiped out think twice before responding anyone. Kudos cool cool
i absolutely agree with you,but what makes me angry .is the way most of us are dragging our feet with growing threats and a changing world.(just look at how jihadist groups are flourishing in africa, our wildlife being decimated, illegal fishing near our coastal line, our minerals are being looted with help from our leaders e.t.c) we aren't dictating our future, because we have neglected our role.leaving it to outsiders, because we have refused to stand on our own feet

people don't only use Guns to kill other people, also america has more guns that south africa(basically flooded with gun,so when a south african criminal easily accessible weapon is a machete.an american can easily get access to an illegal firearm

Illegal firearms are more common in South Africa than you actually think, you can even rent one for a crime or buy an AK47 from Mozambicans for a price of a sneaker (there're documentaries about that). Yes you're right about other objects being used for murder in the continent, a good number of murders around the country are committed with sharp objects. However, those happen mostly in informal settlements around drinking spots.

Officially Russia lost 54 assisting 'Friendly Progressive Forces,' in Angola which imo is a huge understatement for their number of active combatants, technical advisors and assorted support staff against a powerful effective enemy the old SADF.

http://www.pravdareport.com/russia/politics/15-02-2011/116909-soviet_union_foreign_wars-0/

I specifically know an incident in which a Russian family got caught up in a SA sweep and a child was lost in the savannah despite a desperate search. Even Pravda admits:

There's plenty of Soviets who were killed in Angola that were never officially revealed, similar to South African Recce who were never reported dead in the conflict. Officials were likely to say they died on border patrol or during training for internal propaganda reasons.

An American article from an alleged defected Cuban general says about 10 000 Cubans died in the hands of the SADF and UNITA.

“NASRDA has the capability to deliver on what the Chief has requested; the Chief has studied us for some time like he said since 2013, he has a feeling of our capability”, he said.
He continued: “The Chief talked about armaments, he talked about rockets and about missile programs, we have a rocket that goes beyond the level that he has requested, he said about 5 kilometers, we have already gone beyond that”.
Agboola further said: “we are already working on how to guide it, not just point and shoot straight line, but to be able to make sure it goes intelligently to another location and that is what we are being asked for and we are already working on that”.

It appears Nigeria is working on Guided missile Technology
The Chief mentioned this in his vision statement last week

I can believe that! Btw,Castro blamed Gen Ochoa,an old comrade from the beginning of the faux revolution in the 50s for the Cuito Cuanavale disaster and had him shot. And people here still insist Cuba won-SMFH!!
What was expected to be a routine background check prior to the announcement of his appointment began to unravel, however, when some close associates accused the revolutionary hero of corruption which included, but was not limited to, the sale of diamonds and ivory from Angola and the misappropriation of weapons in Nicaragua.

And kids around the world bleat about Castro the hero-if people want to know the true nature of communism, see how they treat their own!

Interesting statistic. People have always believed that South Africa had the highest gun murder rate in the world.

It's now official, South Africa is even safer than the US.

The thing is places like Colombia or Burundi are "universally dangerous" that is, you at high risk throughout most of the country.

Whilst in the US, violent crime - or gun crime - is highly limited to a handful of very small or easily defined areas - Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, St Louis and a few other areas. Even then, the crime is limited to the inner cities and not the cities as a whole (with the exceptions of Detroit and Baltimore).

Thus I would argue that detspite the statistical trends - the US is still safer than South Africa as American crime is highly localized, while South African crime is more evenly distributed.

Finally, and most importantly, you have to be extremely careful with gun data emanating from the US. It is a highly politicized issue and certain "activists" have been shown to be highly unscrupulous. Very often they will include suicide, accidental gun deaths and deaths relating to police action in the numbers.

Frankly, the American 2nd Amendment is one of the finest pieces of Constitutional Law in existence - the idea that the Americans founded a state where the Government would never have a monopoly on the use of force is just beautiful. The idea that the Government should be afraid of the People is the pinnacle of Enlightenment thinking.

SANDF Chief outlines 2017 objectives/Priorities

- Naval patrols may be extended, with the report stating that, “it is envisaged that resourced naval operations, as part of anti-piracy operations, may expand to the western coastline of Africa in the future. Increased cooperation with Namibia and Angola will demand more SA Navy participation and patrolling of the West Coast

- “The South African Government has prioritised the matter of the RSA’s porous borders that leads to the influx of undocumented migrants into South Africa. As part of the BMA, the SANDF will continue to safeguard the borders (air, land and maritime borders) of the RSA.” For the 2017/2018 period the SANDF will continue to deploy 15 sub-units, or companies, on border safeguarding duties in the Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and North West provinces.

- With regard to external deployments, the DoD stated that “During the FY2017/18 the SANDF deployment in peace support operations (PSOs) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) under the auspices of the United Nations Mission (MONUSCO) will continue with an Infantry Battalion plus supporting elements, supported by Rooivalk and Oryx helicopters. Selected specialist SANDF elements, amongst them combat and construction engineers, military observers and staff officers, are deployed in and around the capital city of Kinshasa, whilst the bulk of the SANDF elements are deployed as part of the Force Intervention Brigade (FIB) in the eastern parts of the DRC.”

- One of the areas that is expected to change is in the cyberspace domain and the DoD has cautioned that “cyber and terror attacks remain a possibility to contemplate.” As a result, it is developing the National Cyber Warfare Strategy and Implementation Plan and will contribute, pending resource allocation, towards capacitating a Cyber-security Institution through the establishment of a Cyber Command Centre Headquarters, scheduled for the 2018/19 financial year.

In other news water is wet.....we all know the SANDF have some awesome projects, but government has given them the middle finger with regards to funding.

Munitions would be used by the aircrafts to replace them. The MK.82 and MK.84 bombs can be used by the Tucano, L-39ZA and the JF-17s. However with the rate of our bombing campaigns, i doubt if any bombs will be left.
