Hello Everybody,

Top of the day to you all.

So I submitted my application 16th August and got a "REFUSED" reply 30th September and ordered for my GCMS notes October 5th. My admission is into Fanshawe College (Graduate Certificate, 8months course) for Jan resumption.

Since it takes a month for the GCMS files to arrive (i.e I will be reapplying in November), I am considering writing and attaching payment receipts to accra.immigration@international.gc.ca to review or reopen my application as I was denied based on insufficient funds. And re-applying in November for Jan admission is quite risky in the sense that I may have to defer to May.

From reading the thread, I realize I will have to open a dollar account and transfer school fees + living expense into it.. to show access to funds (incase that is why i was denied).

My question is:
1. Will sending a mail make them reopen the case?
2. Even if the mail does not make them reopen the case, will it affect my chances once i reapply in November?
3. Do i just defer my admission to May 2018?
4. Any other documents i need to add if/when reapplying asides the listed below?

Documents Submitted (Paper route)
All CIC documents
Statement of Purpose
WAEC Result
Secondary school statement of result
University Degree and Transcript
NYSC Certificate
Admission Letter and one payment receipt (the second one had not arrived as at the time i applied for visa)
Cisco Certificate
Birth Certificate and passport (My whole family)
Letter of Employment and Payslip
Popsi's Affidavit of support
Popsi's statement of account
Popsi's proof of investments
I think there was deed of assignment somewhere.. i can't remember all the documents abeg

PLEASE epp a sister. smiley
Thank you all.

To your statement as emboldened, new evidence will NOT be considered for a reopening of the refused application. Only error of facts or administrative errors on the part of the visa officer are considered regarding reopening a refused application. Another one is a judicial review decision by a federal court of Canada judge to reopen a closed application. Other than these cases, you can only reapply and pay new processing fees.

Since you have ordered for your GCMS file, i suggest you exercise some patience till it is out. The officer's note on the application will help you realise where the problem is and what to tackle.

You do not need to show any form of desperation by trying to do anything to suggest you are. Relax, get you GCMS file, read information on this forum while waiting for the note and you will be better prepared for the reapplication. Like you noted, it took barely a month and 2 weeks for a decision to be made on your previous application, you can be fortunate same case is recorded in the reapplication and you make it for jan.

So prepare for your reapplication in Nov, follow this thread and gather as much info there is and be hopeful. Anything is always possible. About deferring, when the time comes, you will know if it will be necessary.

I only wanted to know what's up with my application. The note that came with it was the normal 'Dear sir/ma, Due to significant and unforseen increases in the volume of temporary resident applications we receive. we are currently outside regular processing timee. we continue to process applications as quickly as possible in order they were received' The tin just weak me.

I just tracked my application now and this is the information I found "Visa application, tracking ID No.20170831CA.............– Your processed passport has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office ACCRA , on 05/10/2017 to the Canada Visa Application Centre. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

And from what I've read on here, doesn't sound good. No medical call nor mail about this. I guess I will just go ahead now and apply for my gcsm file and try again.

Hello all,
Please kindly advise me. I started my masters in the school and department I had my undergraduate degree from but stopped few months into the masters because the modules are about same thing I did at undergraduate and not in line with my current employment. Can I add it to my SOP to give it more flesh as to why I want to study in Canada? If yes will it give me an advantage?
Ps : I graduated currently work in a sector different from where I was doing my masters. Also, I began the masters 3 years after my undergraduate.
Please respond. Thanks.

very wise move...if youve waited for more than normal processing time, u could request ur note, requesting for note is not only wen u get a refused visa app, gcms note cud also state the status of ur app

1. Please i urgently need information on universities in Canada that accept 2.2 (2.7/5) Mechanical Engineering. I would not like to do trial and error, cos i don't have much application funds. Experienced people in the house, please recommend or suggest an alternative.

2. I will also like to know if the GPA value i got with IGPA calculator on WES US website, can be used as my Canadian GPA while applying to schools?

3. I also want to know the possibility of Transferring From Nigeria to Canada for the same Masters program. And which schools are open to that?

I will really appreciate it if someone helps me out with this information. Thank you.
