Kog45: dont forget Evan Ekoku style of play those years were typical english style , not until the europe in general adjusted to their kick and follow style .... english football is difficult and its one way traffic in those days .... Westerholf liked team work , and if you re a player that doesnt play with the team , you will sit on the bench , Ask Jayjay . |

Pinnick cannot force any player on Rohr. The best he can do is aid the process of the switch. However, if Tammy is invited and comes good under Rohr before Russia, nobody can stop Tammy from going. We can shout all we want on NL. safarigirl: 1 Like |

Haha you have just conceded there is none at the moment. Nobody is saying we should shut the doors to other strikers. The fact is Ighalo is our best at the moment. Icon4s: |

Joebie:which switch? So, you think Tammy will be under less pressure from the press in two months? You think he will jist go and switch and the English press will not hear about it after this debacle? And later you will accuse someone else of dreaming.... |

The World Cup is still 9 months or so away. Many things can happen before then. I'm just saying things as it is. I'm not in #ProTeamTAmmy. Neither am I in #TeamAntiTammy. The reality is TAmmy has potentials and has never turned down Nigeria. Whether he comes good eventually for us remains to be seen. You can't make a premature argument that he is better than Ighalo. Someone that still has much to prove at club level and has not even earned his first SE cap. come on now.. Every position in SE needs competition. I'm comfortable about Ighalo's performance lately. I'm not saying he is the best possible. But at the moment, he is the best 9 I have seen so far under Rohr. Icon4s: |

Kog45: Oga, the WC is still 9months away, the European season is still young. My point is we must recognise the fact that our attacking department is lagging. If you say the attack does not need improvements no wahala. But I am sure Rohr has recognized this fact. How strikers will be invited for assessment from here onwards is left to Rohr and his crew to decide. |

for me ighalo had a nice game concerning that counter attack that iwobi set up ighalo shouldn't have cut back he should have tried to use his left foot am sure kelechi would have converted that chance cos he is a left footer but if we should take a close look at ighalo performance he did well (a bit above average) cos of his work rate except from the chance he missed from Moses Simon cross he was too slow to convert that Chance I am sure kelechi would have converted that chance cos he gets into scoring positions to crown it all both ighalo and kelechi shouldn't be written off cos they are very good in their own talent ighalo can bully but his finishing is a bit above average while kelechi is a wonderful finisher but he needs to improve on his strength and first touch 1 Like |

Totally different situation. Different stages of the switch process. You just suggested it. It was a little too late for them when they became interested. Read this link. Educate yourself on Iwobi's case: https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2016/mar/26/arsenal-alex-iwobi-england-nigeria Let me help you with a few paragraphs from that source on Iwobi. "Ok, perhaps there is a bit of self-interest here from Wenger when playing for England would mean Iwobi not disappearing mid-season every couple of years for the Africa Cup of Nations. Yet Iwobi said himself in January that he would have “loved” to play for England and it would be intriguing to know why the FA did not try harder to make it happen before Friday’s cutoff point. Hodgson made a personal intervention to ambush the Republic of Ireland’s plans for Grealish. Iwobi, in stark contrast, appears to have slipped away without anything like the same kind of fight. It certainly wasn’t a snap judgment on the teenager’s part to look elsewhere given his last appearance for England came at under-18 level in October 2013 and it was almost two years later that he grew tired of waiting, registered with Nigeria and made his first couple of appearances in non-binding friendlies. Iwobi has apparently talked of feeling unwanted by England, though, in fairness to the FA, it did presumably play a part that the player’s uncle is Jay-Jay Okocha, football royalty in Nigeria." jotey: |

Icon4s:Sir Icon4s you are unusually passionate about this Tammy matter and I guess it's cos of the fact that something vital is missing in that attack. Truth is we can build at least a quarter final team if we have all the right pieces in place. But getting that guy would be extremely difficult, even more so than when we got Iwobi but no harm in trying. The best, the very best is what we want for the team. 1 Like |

Icon4s:My man thank God we qualified coz it was d qualification that is given us avenue to discuss may be d team need players or not. Truly it's left for Rohr to decide what he want not we,d team is taking shape and I know before WC we w have a good team. One thing is cleared no mediocre in d guise that we need potent striker, after South Africa match we saw what happened how player like Aron Samuel came into the team. This is a player that's finding it difficult to make his team. |

Talks with Tammy and his agent, together with his father have been held. We have played our part. They picked the form. Will they fill it and turn it in? Really, the ball is now on their court. Calling for another talks is going too far. Or is anyone suggesting that Tammy should be promised a world cup slot or what? What else will Pinnick be telling them now besides what has already been said? 4 Likes |
