For those calling for Mikel to be moved to the DM or CM position, Mikel is our biggest asset in that midfield and we need to use him optimally. Mikel keeps the AM role for me and let Ndidi and Onazi continue doing it in the midfield. Onazi is a work horse in that midfield and thank God the technical crew recognize that. Iwobi can play from the winds and should occasionally drift to central positions swapping with Mikel (just like against Zambia in Uyo). Some have again called for us to play Victor Moses as a wing back. *In Chief Zebrudaya's voice* Fa-fa-faa foul! He maintains his wing forward position. We need to maximize our potentials in the best positions. 3 Likes |

Players Guaranteed a place if fit 1. Ezenwa 2. Iwobi 3. Mikel 4. V. Moses 5. Onazi 6. Balogun 7. Ekong 8. Shehu 9. Ighalo 10. Simon Moses 11. Elderson (perhaps not as a starter) 12. Ola Aina 13. Ndidi 14. Enyeama (if he gets himself fit and ready) 15. Iheanacho Shaky places Musa: needs a club ASAP!! With Sarenren Bazee returning to full fitness, the coach will be forced to reconsider Musa's role. Onyekuru continues to score too. He would still be valuable if he can get himself fit and playing. Agu: The coach has given him a lot of chances to impress, so far he has not been great.. Needs to start showing something. Every other person can lose their place in the team between now and the world cup. 5 Likes |

Mujtahida: After the long campaign, it still comes down to the same simple fact. If Iheanacho had this exact game, for what ever excuse you want, lots of you will criticise Iheanacho for being poor and kept mute for Ighalo. Bias. Simple. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 6:10am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: I have watched a few full matches of Bazee, these are my thoughts Biggest strength is his speed.. He is very fast and has good delivery from crosses. Weakness, loses the ball more often than i'd like. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 6:11am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: Joel Obi and Aluko for starters.. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:11am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: Maybe the bias is because some of you feel me explaining Iheanacho doing well like the Algeria case means me exaggerating Iheanacho's performance (thank God the Algerian coach pointed it out because most would accuse me of exaggeration), some of you have clearly chosen to take a bias stance against the Young man. It is unfair. You are free not to like my stance or perspective. However, be fair and logical. Not bias. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:12am On Oct 13, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:I have never criticised Iheanacho. But I know the strength and weakness of his game and I'm in the camp of those who see him more as a SS rather than the main point man. Try and tone down on him here with more realistic and factual analysis and you'd save his skin here cos as I see it those who exaggerated on him are responsible for the jabs he gets here. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 6:19am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: People here should tone down on their bias stance. Worst part when it becomes having a bias stance because of someone's stance on a forum. Finito. Which one is exaggeration. I prefer someone pointing out that I exaggerated something than saying my stance is exaggerated. It is not even about my comment but having a bias stance about a player. All this SS/CF stance should even stop. He is a forward and can play multiple roles. That is the demand of the modern forward game. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:20am On Oct 13, 2017 |
tbaba1234:Truly Obi is good but I find it hard seeing him in the frame of things cos of his frequent injuries. As for Aluko he seems not to have good luck. I am sure Rohr is aware of the collapse that the team suffers whenever Mikel is subbed. But I'd want to ask:would it be a bad idea if Mikel plays from deep (CM/DM) and a sound AM be found for the team? 1 Like |

Joebie: At least, you can say I can not read a game. However, I made the same precise opinion of the Algerian coach. Keep in mind when people criticised Mikel Agu in that first half, I highlighted what he should do and he did it precisely. Having an improved performance. Keep that in mind before writing I can not read a game. Clap for yourself self. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:27am On Oct 13, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:On various occasions you have exaggerated on him. I can't go digging now but as a present example you are exaggerating on his significance and effect in the Algerian game. I didn't say he cannot play as the main point man in the forward line. Granted that the modern game requires versatility yet you cannot take away the fact that players have positions that they thrive in more than others. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:30am On Oct 13, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:Yeah, that was a shortcoming in his game plus the imprecision in front of goal but he had quality movement and mobility when we had the ball as I have already pointed out. |

Mujtahida:Oh Iheanacho and thegoodjoe is like Ndidi and Michael2, Akpeyi,Mikel and icon4s, Komne and Nigeria born English player, Ajagun and forgiveness,Awaziem and Safarigirl,Mikel and Kog45 just to mention a few. I believe when it reach a certain stage in d course of our discussion or arguments we should put aside our love or hate for a player and let football reason take over. This is d only way we can have good and constructive analysis. In one of my comment yesterday i said Awoniyi was like a son to me but did u ever see me mentioning his name has a potential player to be in d WC team, not yet for him but if he make it fine. Dele Aiyenugba very closed guy to me,am one of d people that make sure he signed his first professional contract as a footballer but I read all d heated arguments about him yesterday and my comment on him was on football reason,i did not allowed my judgment to be based on personal relationship. Good to love a player but when it comes to reality we should face it and talk football without sentiments. I can mention some monikers(icon4s, safarigirl,Bascon velli,tbaba1234,Humility, enomakos,Joseph1013) despite their likeness for a player when it reach certain point they come out and say d truth, this is more reason i hold Jobie and mujtahida in high esteem when it comes to unbiased football analysis. For instance,i remember safarigirl was one of d championing of Tammy Abraham but now one of d strongest antagonist coz she believe he insulted Nigeria. 2 Likes |

tbaba1234: Am beginning to sense dt some peeps here re eida related to d players directly or indirectly I'm ain't angry at you Bro, coz I know the matured Minds on the Thread. But it won't be a bad Idea if Member like the Poster above is cautioned from senselessly condemning Players suggested by another Person(s). This is a Forum for the Eagles Fans, Nigerians precisely, hence it's an open Forum for all Nigerians to make Inputs. There is no crime to argue on a particular subject matter, but present facts and Stats to back up your Points instead of personal views. The emboldened ain't Joke from him, and it kinda lame thinking those that suggested the Names are doing it for a Purpose rather than for the sake of the Eagles. This Template ain't NFF Board Meeting, also it ain't a Yardstick for Rohr to pick his Players for the World Cup. We are simply here to discuss the Team, our chances, likely Players, and catch fun not to resulting in Child-plays. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:46am On Oct 13, 2017 |
tbaba1234:Thanks. He also seem to have close control of the ball and has the ability to get through tight situations(which perhaps accounts for his losing the ball as you have pointed out) and like Iwobi he knows how to create space for himself. These are my views on him. I've not seen a full match of his to know his weaknesses so I'd take your word for it. We really need a wing forward who can cross the ball cos for me it saves lots of energy and can cause problems to the opponents defence. If he returns to full fitness I see him breaking in than even Onyekuru. Musa should bring back his mojo else he'd be a goner. |
