EEGA:
Nice,he got his chance against SA to claim the Super Eagles no 9 but failed to do so.Had it been he scored just a goal,he would have displaced Nacho.

What the Super Eagles need is a 9 who must score in every game.

He needs to start scoring for Girona to make the WC list just as Iheanacho needs to start scoring for Leicester to reclaim his no 9 position.

chance against SA kwa? He was subbed in when we were losing, how is that a chance? Nna eh

I bet you are one funny man, probably laughing at yourself right now.

If you were serious, then you exemplify all that is wrong with Nigeria if you somehow think that Ik Uche is not atleast 3times better than Nacho as a top 9 in top form
who is ike uche please?

mind you...you talking of a striker who has netted 7 times in less than 12 games for the SE....

your sentiments won't allow you say the truth....even enemies of nacho know his worth and how lethal he can be infront of goals....

please tell me of someone else...like Dennis, dessers, Tammy and not one player I will have to Google to know who he is

Obagoal and Ighalo
unfortunately the first won't be going to the world cup...
ighalo already took the slot for the oldies upfront....
someone like dessers, nacho nwakeme should he play well against Algeria, and Tammy if he switch...though unlikely...

alot can still happen though...but your beloved obagoal won't make that list...

Thank you Lord - Iheanacho starts today. May this MF giving him balls on the ground. Here's wishing him a goal scoring performance today. So happy for him.

Mikel Agu scores.

Interesting Ekong is the ball player in a 3man backline and he hasn't been bad
bro .do you mean same mikel agu that plays for the SE?

had it been he has not been tested and tried now....whistleblowers here...won't let us rest...though i am sometimes inclusive...

glad he has been tested...we know what he can offer....
reason why I see that call for ike uche as fluke...he needs to be consistent...to draw attention let alone get super eagles call up...

#nice one from mikel though...

Uche is very good at this; gets new form once naija qualifies to attract call up, selection. Smart guy! I miss him though.
he should look the other way....
Dennis and yinka are still there....they've not been looked at yet...even dessers.

On Saturday, we saw Mourinho opt for a very negative strategy and Rashford looked worse than average. If a team play that way regularly, we can have a quality player who looks average.

That is why it is good to access them closely. So using watching them every day as a yardstick does not add.

If not the bravery of Pepe Mel, we can use him not playing as a yardstick to judge his strength. Some play in weak clubs and with a quality team can post stellar performances.

Accessing and screening remains the best. I go with us doing it the old way.

To assess them closely. So Rohr has sacked his video analyst that you had always been talking about here?

Tell me whether the likes of Brazil, Germany, England , Spain , France will invite 100+ players for camping.

Talking about Mourinho's tactics at Anfield, was that how Mourinho has been setting up his team against other opponents? I have always told you a team must not play attacking football all the time. There are some games you just adopt a cautious approach with the aim of not losing even if you don't win.

Anfield is a place where you visit and expect Liverpool to come all over you. The best approach here is to sit back, absorb the pressure and hit them on the counter.

The Manunited result at Anfield is a good one.

That was how the other day you said Nigeria has the talent to match Brazil. I just dey look you.

And we're talking about two TAP-INS. The NFF should just forget that guy. He had his chance and simply decided to pitch his tent with the 3 Lions. God luck to him. I have totally lost interest in him .... unless he transforms into Leo Messi or Gabriel Jesus tomorrow.

....moving on.

I dont mind if rohr retains those called up against Cameroon and Zambia, den maybe give a chance to any new left back, good central back/midfielder, and an out-out striker(dts if any),if not,am only expecting a 27-man pre-lim team list to b pruned down to final 23man list for strong cohesion and maintain b present team brotherhood.

He should have taken that opportunity to prove that he can lead our attack.

Come to think of it, both Nacho and Kayode are Mancity loanees , meaning they are on the same level (low table Girona and Mid-table Leicester).

Modified:To me Kayode was eyeing the no 9 shirt.

Iheanacho a bench warmer for City starts ahead of him.

I guess, this resulted to his Mancity move to keep him on the same level with Nacho. If not he could have accepted the Newcastle offer.

Even Dennis Bonaventure and Cyriel will try to score on their debut to secure a position in the team.

The rule still remains the same "score as a striker or loose ur position in the team".

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori has refused to rule out the possibility of representing the Super Eagles in the near future, and the same applies to another member of the victorious England U20 World Cup-winning squad, Tottenham Hotspur's Josh Onomah.
Tammy Abraham was seriously considering turning out for the Nigerian national team, only for the Nigerian Federation to make him pull the plug on his plans after they went to announce they were on the brink of securing his services, which infuriated the authorities in England.
''It's still the same thing for Tammy Abraham, England have eyes on him as there's talk he could be recalled from his loan spell at Swansea City,'' a top source told
allnigeriasoccer.com .
''He doesn't have a chance with England when they have Rashford, Defoe, Kane. It will be hard work for him except England cap-tie him to get Nigeria out of the way and they have no competitive games before the World Cup.''
He added : ''Fikayo is open to playing for anybody, he was born in Canada. He won't be too difficult to convince, anybody that comes first he'll play.
''Josh Onomah too does not have a problem. He has been approached but these things should be done in secret.''
Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina, who all featured for the Super Eagles against Zambia, had caps for England youth teams before they applied for a change of association.

Nigeria
Ex England International Who Opt For England Ahead Of Nigeria Warns Tammy Abraham
Nigeria

Former England international John Fashanu has sounded a note of warning to on loan Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham to be careful when making a decision on his international future.
The England U21 international who is of Nigerian descent is mulling over a switch of allegiance from England to Nigeria at international level, with Nigeria offering him the chance to fight for a spot in their World Cup 2018 squad.
Fashanu who was in similar circumstances in the 80’s and early 90’s but opt for England, where he ended up with just three caps says it will be wise for him to switch allegiance to Nigeria than wait for a call up to the senior national team of England.
” A lot of has been said on this issue but as someone who has been in similar situation in the past, my advice to him is to switch to Nigeria. It’s clear they want him the more, at the stage it’s crucial to opt for the team that wants you the more”, Fashanu told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” He is talented and we all know it, but when you look at the English team, there are lot of youngsters ahead of him unlike in Nigeria, where those in his position are in their 30’s. Look at Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina they are going to the World Cup..
” Shola Amoebi made the late switch to Nigeria and played at the World Cup, he could have played in more than one if he had made the switch earlier. Tammy Abraham should be wise and I expect his parents to guide him on this”.

Lolz..
I am watching the game as well. Few chances created so far, Iheanacho is not bad at all though passes from Leicester have been horrible ..
They need a creative midfielder as soon as possible or else relegation would give them a peck..

Mahrez just 'yakubu' one golden opportunity now angry

This leicester team .... E get as e be. The team only does power play and no football intelligence whatsoever. The team needs a serious minded playmaker to create good chances. All i see them do is sideways passing. Ndidi has been stellar tonight just cos he keeps things pretty simple but he needs to do more. His passes are all sideways. He needs to study Mikel Obi a bit more.

Albrighton cant make a gud run when they on a counter attack. And his final balls are always intercepted. Vardy... all pace no brain. Hasnt learnt anything about teamwork. There is a reason why he has a strike partner.
Iheanacho looks sharp but no real chances coming his way. He will need to be patient. His time will undoubtedly come.
Mahrez is already a shadow of himself. Probably because his mind has left Leicester. All in all, lets hope for the best for our wards

Yes. His brace on Saturday were both tap ins. In fact, I wouldn't even give the second goal to him because the ball was almost inside the net before he made any contacts.
