It is this kind of intensive training that prepares you for the "real" world. You will certainly know you are learning something. I have met people that attained a computer science degree from Nigerian universities, and they have never written a line of computer code. A big joke indeed!

Continue working hard. And good luck with it man!

Last week, this week and the next are mapped for quizzes..
Exams come up by mid-week October.

I have a quiz by daybreak, will update on how it went down...
6 whole chapters from a textbook just for "common" quiz. Me I bow.

An assignment to turn in tomorrow and another next tomorrow, we will likely get issued some more today cheesy and these are not moi-moi questions, Na who send me come do masters?? embarassed grin

USA masters is highly intensive, no be joke!

I would assume you applied for the position with a certain educational qualification, if yes, then indicate what ever GPA you have. It does not matter where you obtained the degree. GPA is GPA, the only difference is that some are on a scale of 4.0 (USA) while others are on a scale of 5.0 (Nigeria).

Addendum:
Hints on how to graduate with summa com laude -

1 Take every graded paper serious. Even if it is only worth one point.

2 Do all assignments

3 Study review questions on topics for every test (search the internet for those)

4 Do all the extra credits even if you feel you don't need them

5 Find people that have taken the course in past and get their inputs

6 Study ahead and be ready to find answers to your questions during lectures

7Get a note and write every question the professor asks during classes. Those are usually test questions.

8 Write your papers and turn them in as at when due, don't let them take out points for late paper

9 Attendance might earn you some points too.

When you do all these during the semester , you will find out that most final exams will be just formality, because you already had your A.

The only OT program I am familiar with is the one in Salem State University Massachusetts. Their fees is relatively low.

Lot's of people moving around the campus today...
In my mind I said , "Ehen, na so school suppose be" smiley

I have met a couple more Nigerians, cool sets...
Most recently an undergraduate student, he struck up a conversation and we got talking from school back to my apartment.

He felt the 30year old (+- 4years) Grad students feel they are 'too old' to relate with the teenage undergrads.
Me too don 'old' but we still related fine, showing that his feeling was not a fact but a perception which he should clear.....

Home now, make I go enjoy my 50mbps internet conxtn. kiss
If you feel say you go kee these internet people, na you go die! grin 1000gb monthly... No be child's play!!!
Cost $50 monthly with separate fees for the modem. Will check up and confirm.

Modified: Modem rental fee is a one-time payment of $6 for standard or $9 for high speed modems that can handle the 100mbps speed.

I forgot to write, the internet bill came in for September and modem rental bill was again included. Jipitit people, they charge for that shi monthly!

After the first month, you will forget the massive data allowance an just concentrate and enjoy the steady availability and efficient service.

It is always cheaper to go through the masters route, paying 4 years of UG is a lot of money except you garrit - plenty money I mean.
As is usually said here, age is a determining factor when you go to the embassy irrespective of what they write on their site. They would always ask what you have been doing all these years that you are just seeking to go for UG studies.

Most UG students here are below 20 years, your plan isn't an impossible one though but I would say conclude your HND and apply for masters after transcript evaluation with WES and here siblings.

It is so bad, we had to ask a lecturer to extend submission date for an assignement.

The most recent assignments for course A covers 2 chapters, one has been as usual, breezed through. Shebi na masters class we deh? undecided

Course B's assignment covers 3 different textbook chapters, 2 yet to be taught but we have been given assignments on it due in a few days... The previous two chapters taught in class have been rugged - people no fit breath.

That's by the way...
Results from tests and quizzes are coming in...

You mentioned this at the right time..

It rained lightly today and the usual 91F temperature fell to 71F - e don deh set.
It's cold everywhere now but still manageable, I am thinking below 60F might be where we would start crying.

The american educational system is very intense...
In the past 5 days -

Thursday was the reiteration that we should go read 10 chapters for the midterm exam. sad

Did a 6 hour round-trip on Friday to unwind, I cannot go madt reading books. Lost so much time though. tongue

Turned in an assignment on Sunday, had to rush through Friday's assignment due on Monday cry

Turned in an assignment on Monday, told to prepare for midterm exam. This one should be easier. smiley

Getting set to take a midterm exam today, Tuesday. Did I cover all 10 chapters?? When I reach hall, I go know.. undecided

An assignment is due on Thursday (will I be able to meet the deadline?), also we have the Fall Carnival then or have I forgotten the Carnival date?

Another exam is on Friday, na wa o.

Overall, no time to drink beer or chase woman...

I remember when I was an undergrad, I used to wonder how some of us find time to combine work and school. Because in this country, at least one or two assignments are due every week.

In the midst of all the school work, there has been the Fall Carnival and this is Homecoming week.

The Carnival as I heard was fun filled, I and my coconut head didn't or is it couldn't attend? embarassed

I had a friend get me some pictures though, na market square something..

Different campus organizations, societies etal come together on make merry at several points on the university boulevard.

I missed it! Doubt if I will be here when that of next Fall holds.

I sat in my room few minutes ago, trying to get a little school work into my head then suddenly I heard what sounded like rapid gun fire...

That kinda sound from an assault rifle- ratatata.. rata.. rata.. shocked
My reaction? Fight or Flight?? I could care less..
Guy, hide your head!

On a second thought - if the bullets were coming my way, I would have either heard screams or worse still I would have dropped dead.

A brief pause, then the sounds continued... this time, more rapidly. shocked

Grenade!?? Oh lawd!

The sounds continued... A mixture of rapid gunfire and grenades..
Guy, I cannot continue like this..

I stood up and went outside,

First thing I noticed, the skies were bright... Colors everywhere...

People standing outside...

Looking up and cheering.
The sight was beautiful! It was from Fireworks!

Then I remembered, Today is bonfire night!!! cheesy

I brought out my phone and took pictures, the videos are more wonderful to watch. Lasted well over 10minutes.
