Bad signal like stop winning souls for Christ?.. I beg to differ oh!!... As far as am concern you are accountable for your actions and what you say here on earth. It's not on any pastor. Whether he gives bad signal or not.. I still see him as mere mortal. But aside that have we ever seen a pastor's job description which says he can't own a private jet. I can only understand not having a private jet by Catholic Priests bc during and before there ordination there is an oath they take. Can't really remember the name now but under it there are some certain properties you are not allowed to acquire
Perhaps you don't know how these pastors operate. It's very easy to see things from the outside that is nice but they're not. If you know what goes behind the scene then you would understand better. Aside from that, acquiring such wealth will result to lust for riches. Initially it might look nice but at the end it leads to destruction. Catholic priests have their doctrines and they try to caution their priest against acquiring unnecessary wealth. Don't forget name we came to this world name we will all leave so why should we be crazy over these things like unbelievers?

Exactly what Judas would say.

Certainly not Christ.
when the church was busy constructing roads in portharcourt city, building houses, dashing out cars, giving out scholarships helping the helpless...... and many more you don't see it as offering money o. but if they do something for pastor it then becomes offering money. but it's our offering money and yours is not inside so stop complaining and enjoy whatever damnation you will bring upon yourself by saying what you know nothing about

It's not about me but about the pastor, the salvation of his soul. He true believer don't acquire all these because they are all vanities. Yes a preacher can be rich but he doesn't have to display it. the Bible say in 1 Timothy 6:7-10 that "For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs"
1 John 2:16 also says "For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world". Gradually with time he the love for wealth will begin to sink into his head unknown to him
but Joseph of Arimatea was very rich and was still disciple of Jesus. Infact had it not been his influence, the body of Jesus wouldn't av been released... The kingdom of God is very big. Choose who u wanna be in him but don't lose ur focus of heaven.. By the way, the Bible says he became poor so we might be rich..

Go and read the Abraham story again and answer these questions:

1. Who was/is Melchizedek?

2. How many times did Abraham tithe?

Having gone through the thread where E warriors blasted pastor David Ibiyeomie's church members for buying him a private jet, I decided to shut them up with this thread.
In this generation, it's easy for anyone to just say what they want without knowing the truth first.
I was a church critic, even worst than daddy freeze, until God took me to this church one day and my life turned....
I am not here to prove anything to anyone but to let them understand the wonderful work this man does that bloggers will never carry neither nairaland mods pay attention to it since its not a post criticizing a certain man of God...

U can't avoid moving this to the front page.
you attribute Gods work to a man.
Did God collect a dime from us before doing amazing things for us?
Is it the pastor that helped the members or God?
God would have preferred that such money goes to the less priviledges.

like i said earlier, levite is a whole tribe. For example God set aside the igbos to work in his temple cos dey stoodup and identified with him wen a test was done, does dat make anyone given a higher responsibility less an igbo? Are u also going to say Aaron is not a levite just because he was given an higher responsibility as an highpriest?

Aaron and Moses were never regarded as part of the Levites whose inheritance was God Himself. The descendants of Aaron were not regarded as Levites, even till today. Rather, they are called the Kohanim.

I see nothing wrong with was he asked. The church is only doing what it was meant to do, nothing special. Pastor David is not the owner of the money been spent, the people owns it. These credits should go to the church, not the pastor as u sound. The pastor is not the church, the people are.

So pls we shld stop celebrating mediocrity in this country. Try leaving the shores of Nigeria and see how religion is been practice outside.

Who is publicizing this? What happened to the bible verse that says when you give to the needy , sound no trumpet about it? Mattew 6:2. How many times have you heard or seen charities done by the northerners being publicized? You just want to justify why he should have a private jet okwaya? Instead of a private jet, he should continue with the good works he is focused on. PERIOD.

That is the problem with Churches who have human beings as the central figure. Everything the Church does is credited to the figure instead of to God.

Any Church where a man is the central figure and the identity of the Church is not of God. Jesus has been uprooted from that Church.

Any pastor who preaches tithing under the Law of Moses is a thief, a parasite, a wolf, a viper.

Now, before you credit your pastor for that generosity, can you tell me what he does for a living?

Was it his private money he used in all these? You've seen his bank statements?

Because of the above you enumerated, he deserves a private jet? Just say he has one because he can afford one and stop all the lists.

Redeem (Adeboye comes to mind)

This is what happens when a church is shepherded by a single man rather than by elders/overseers as we had in the Early Church. How many elders in each of the Early Church do you know?

Nobody is saying they should live descent but many preachers are going out of track. Many of them are now talking more of money in their sermons. Many have lost it and have deviated from what they ought to preach. Acquiring wealth here isn't just restricted to pastors alone it's for all Christians. We shouldn't be carried away like what's going on now. It's very easy to say but difficult to practice

He has never been the central figure of the church! God uses him to do his work so he deserves the plaudits coming his way.

Don't the tithes come from hundreds if not thousands of followers? Who said it's from one person? The grants received? Why do you make it seem like it's all the man's personal money.

What are his business investments and holdings which he began with his own earned money (not the flocks tithes and donations)?

You don't want people to judge the man, but you're judging this guy that his salary isn't enough to buy a bag of rice. How do you know this?
