Leon might be available for Algeria going by his tweet.

I was surprised this morning when I started seeing Awaziem-Ekong pairing here.

Is it that people are wishing Balogun ill so that Awaziem will get to play against Algeria?

I purposely raised this coz some are ready to sacrifice Nacho and Ighalo for him and his rating on this thread is awesome.

It is Kayode that has been sacrificed for him. grin

Chidozie Awaziem scores, great header

Omeruo is doomed. While he is giving below average performances in Turkey, his replacement is pulling it big in France. Keep soaring Awaziem!!!!

This guy has the best advisors. Did u know he turned down Liverpool to join Nantes because he understands the importance of playing opportunities?

Balogun got injured at the weekend with a broken chin. I also thought he might not be available. He might have to wear a mask, i presume, to protect the chin from impact.

Ebuehi just gave a terrific pass with his left foot but the striker messed it up... One on one with the keeper

Na so we dey here but when them reach Eagles camp....na some thing else.

With Shehu and Aina in our team, I doubt Ebuehi would make it to Russia.

I saw part of that match Omeruo team lost against Eto and Sam Nasiri. Somehow they were one man down and these two guys were tormentor in chief.

There is no indication that he has not done well in camp. We know Rohr will rather test him in friendlies first.

The Nigerian invites have done a lot for his confidence, whether he makes the world cup or not. He is more adventurous and expressive compared to before his invites.

Shehu and Aina are ahead of him. That is the case.
Only 6 defenders will make the squad. We cannot have 3 RBs.

Ebuehi plays both left and right back comfortably. Same with Aina.

Unless the coaches find another left back. He can very easily make the world cup due to his flexibility.

You don't know Orkpekyandega? He is one of the founding fathers here o.

I recognized the name, still I couldn't grasp the point he wanted to make if any.

I said 14years is not possible, he came up and said he knew people who graduated between 15-18, and I am like for goodness sake that means none graduated at 14, what is the problem exactly!

Bros see, 6 defenders: Baring any injuries we have: Ekong,Balogun, Shehu, Echiejile. The other two likely to join are Awaziem and Aina . Aina is an asset in that defense as he can play both LB and RB and is ahead of Ebuehi. If Aina displaces either of Echiejile or Shehu any of the two becomes a back up. Shehu is one of the first players to make that squad because of his abilities in multiple positions. Echijile's previous WC experience would be a major factor for his selection.

Realistically, Ebuehi's chances are slim.

I am not Rohr o I am just saying.

It would be tough.

Based on past world cup experiences, we have had 7 or 8 defenders. 7 in USA 94, 8 in 98, 7 in 2002 , 2010 and 2014

Ekong
Balogun
Awaziem
Elderson
Aina
Shehu

These are the 6, that are almost sure of making it if injury free. Leaving one more slot. Ebuehi, Omeruo, Agbo and co will fight for that slot.

BELGIUM: Jupiler League - Round 11

EUPEN 3-1 MECHELEN
Eupen currently lead visiting KV Mechelen, but have kept Jamabo George in the dugout so far with 70 minutes played.

St. TRUIDEN 0-0 OOSTENDE
Joseph Akpala is hoping to be pulled off Oostende's bench. His teammates on the pitch seem to be doing a good job so far keeping the home team quiet. It's still scoreless after 66 minutes.

KORTRIJK 0-0 GENT(HALF-TIME)
It's also scoreless at Guldensporen Stadion. While Abduljaleel Ajagun started for Kortrijk, Gent's two-goal hero from the previous round, Samuel Kalu is conspicuously missing. However, they have handed a start to their other Nigerian representatives, Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti.

Well most teams present 6-8 defenders.

Chile even presented 5 at the last WC while Nigeria presented 7.

Shehu, Aina, Ebuehi all RB, reason why Ebuehi was dropped from the squad that faced Zambia. I am not completely ruling out Ebuehi but the coming of Aina has mad him an outsider in the contention for the RB position. Forget that he can also play LB that is not his key strength.

I don't have anything against the guy o. But my own is no sentiments in the selection process. If you are not up to the mark, step aside.

I doubt Nigeria will go to Russia with only three notable centre backs and considering how bad echijile's game has deteriorated, it won't be wise going to Russia without a solid backup.

Two Lbs; Echijile and Tyrone maybe Toru
Two RBs; Shehu and Aina maybe Nura
Four CBs; Balo, Ekong, Awaziem then anybody between Omeruo and Agbo, (maybe, Uduokai, Iorfa etc) but I see Agbo nicking it because of his versatility but then u can't rule out Omeruo completely due to his world cup experience though he is a calamity presently.

Those "maybes" are options I don't really consider feasible.

In total, I feel we will be going to Russia with eight defenders

When I said doomed I didn't mean he was cursed, this is football and the context I used that word rightly suggest his fate in the GWG. it simply means his position is in jeopardy. Thanks
