Adeneyagrofeeds: Please stop misinforming this guy. You can apply with your soon to expire passport, but you need a passport with a minimum of 6 months validity to travel to the US. If a Visa is issued on your old passport, the Visa will still be valid until it eventually expires. You will only need to carry the new one along with it. Many thanks to the gurus on this thread, finally was able to complete reading from part 1, part 2 and on part 3 of this thread today. And I must say it's really overwhelming. You guys really rock. Please I need you guys to assist me on the issues I'm having right now. Before I stumbled on the first part of this thread three months ago, I have paid an 'agent' agent of credibility destruction for USA processing visa and documentations with my valid documents. After I read over 150 pages on part 1 and discovered I can do it on my own I immediately called the agent on the excuse of work tight schedules to purse every processing though he claimed to have paid my visa fee B1B2 cos I've already paid him sum of ₦110k. Fast forward to last week since I'm well equipped on this great forum, I called and met with him to let him know I am no longer interested in traveling again and that he should only hand over the visa application bank slip to me and he shouldn't worry about the excess I've paid him. His countenance changed and was so furious but control himself cos I didn't ask him to give me the balance after payment of visa fee. What he handed over to me was only login to ds-160 form with the security questions and answers on: 1} ds-160 number. 2} first 5 letters of my surname. 3} date of birth and 4} what city did you meet your spouse. I logged in into my ds-160 form with those informations he provided but found out that the agent just filled in lies contrary to my true informations I gave him outrighly but the form is yet to be completed and submit. Now my questions. 1} Please is it possible for me to continue or ignore the filled ds-160 form and start a new one since it has not be submitted? If not possible how can I changed the ds-form security questions and answers so that the agent won't have access to it? 2} since he refused to release my bank slip to me and also claimed he already booked an appointment for me for Dec 7th. Can I ignore him with it and start afresh on my own paying for another visa application fee? Since I don't care about the lost money to him again to save my credibility from stain. Lastly is it possible one booked appointment before submission of ds-form as the agent claimed Please I need candid advice and opinions from the gurus. I really want to abide by the teachings on this forum to stand by the truth and the truth alone. But my worries are if this agent won't go ahead and manipulate my informations at my back. I don't care about the money I've wasted. What I want now is to protect my integrity not to start looking for ways to amend or redeem it later in the name of confession. Thanks. |

Obasa 1.Fill a new form since the first one is yet to be submitted 2. I'm afraid, there's little you can do without proof of payment. U should call the embassy though and verify If they can't help then u have to pay again 1 Like |

obasa19: 1. Yes, you can fill another ds-160 form and edit the one in your appointment profile (You also need a login details for your appointment profile). 2. You need the GTB Receipt printout as its one of the documents required for your interview. You could pay a new visa fee but there would be a clash of profile details as your passport number has already been used to create this current profile. 3. Yes, an appointment can be scheduled before the ds-160 form is submitted. Please note: The security questions the agent might have used in the ds-160 form has no negative effect to your application, rather its an answer he/she could easily remember. Wish you all the best 1 Like |

Obasa (1) Ignore d first application form and start afresh (2) I don't believe the agent has paid your visa fee. Otherwise, he/she would have easily handed the payment confirmation to you. What the agent handed to you could be done without payment of visa fee. Therefore, prepare to pay another visa fee. (3) Yes. It is possible to book appointment without submission of application form. Lastly, pls be careful with agents. Many of them are out there to dupe innocent applicants. 2 Likes |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by DereI(f): 7:34pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
Rep01: First, know the EXACT and GENUINE reason you want to travel to the USA. This will determine the visa category you will apply for. Next, go to GTB and pay for the category of Visa you wish to apply for, i.e; Its N64,000 for Business & Tourist Visa (B) category. Fill in your DS- form with accurate and truthful information, copy the application number and schedule an appointment with the same application number and input your receipt number. Arrange all the necessary documents. Await your interview date and pray 6 Likes |

Mummyeric: If your parents bear same names, then I believe it should be okay as your maiden name would be same as her current surname. If not, kindly separate the applications. |

fedora04: I believe there is a question in the DS-160 form which asks if you had a lost or stolen passport in the page 3 i think. And also, you can add countries you have been to previously in your application. 1 Like |

LadyGuinivere: You're always on point LadyGuinivere. Thanks for the quick response. How would I verify from the embassy if I put a call through since I don't have the login details he the agent used? What happens if I go ahead and pay for another visa fee since I don't know if he truly paid before. Will the clash of informations with passport number not carry any penalties? God bless you guys for dishing out informations at no cost. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by obasa19: 8:26pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
DereI: Amen. Thanks DereI. Your answer number 2 nailed my worries. But if I go ahead and pay for another visa fee and paradventure this agent truly paid as he claimed. What problems or issues will I face with the CLASH of informations you mentioned since my passport number remains the same? Honestly, I don't want to call the man again as I really want to let the pain of the money die naturally with time. I'm ready to start afresh. Kindly elaborate on that aspect of CLASH of informations and it's consequences. God bless. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by obasa19: 8:50pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
Kajolplus: Many thanks Kajolplus. I sensed reality in what you said that he hasn't pay for the visa fee as he took him nothing to give me the details since I'm not asking him to pay me back the excess I ignorantly gave to him. KINDLY ADVISE ON CLASH OF INFORMATIONS IF PARADVENTURE HE PAID AND I ALSO GO AHEAD AND PAY ON SAME PASSPORT NUMBER. WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES? When one is not informed then that person MUST be totally deformed. No be by BTech. Thousands mumu like me are still undergoing same situations as mine at the moment cos they lack crucial informations like this. And zilch can be done to change their mindset cos they the educated ones even believed visa processing can only be done by agents. As big as the company as I work is, many folks declined that I can't process visa without involving an agent. Just imagine! I'm glad I know the truth now and it is setting me free before I'll looking for ways to confess. My own case still better Na only money I loose...I no loose credibility and because of that God win Thanks guys. Please don't let people discouraged you from helping Nigerians. I dey enjoy the way you lash some people here with answers. |

Feel free to apply with her, but please do not try to claim she is your child. Misrepresentation of any kind is bad and can lead to a lifetime ineligibility. This is doubly so if the misrepresentation is about a family relationship with a child. You don't want to appear to be a child smuggler. Regards, LagosNIV Mummyeric: 3 Likes 1 Share |

@ Lady G, Seyewest Thanking you both for your assistance in this forum. I will be very glad if my question can be given an urgent attention. I heard several times in this great forum regards to one having a strong ties like owning a house or plots of land. Please my question is : (1) how can an applicant let the VO knows that he owns some plots of land or house if the VO didn't ask for that during the interview Am asking this because I didn't see such question in the DS 160 form I will appreciate your kind response to this question of mine. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by DereI(f): 9:09pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
obasa19: Well then, if you wish to go ahead with a new payment, do so. Create a new account and fill in your details including your passport number, names et al. If an error occur when trying to update your profile such as "This passport number is associated with another profile", put a call to the US Embassy lagos or abuja and they would assist you with moving your details into the new profile. I wish you the best 1 Like |

Biamoz: I highly doubt if a VO would ask you about any form of landed properties. All they are interested in are the information you have provided in your DS-160 form. Its entirely upto the VO's discretion to issue you the Visa or not depending on your response during the interview. If they aint satisfied, they would deny you. 1 Like |

I just strictly follow this advice and here I go...it worked out. I created a new account and filled in my details and passport number. I updated my profile and no error popped up. I'm a free man now. If not that I'm not satisfied with the available date of appointment I should have booked the available one. Kudos to you guys. Thanks for being there for your country men. DereI: Amen. Many thanks. I appreciate. God bless.

obasa19:The problem right now is this... You won't be able to access your appointment page/profile but to get rid of the agent I will advice you to call the embassy and explain the situation to them and you will need to provide a new email address.... All this shouldn't be more than 3-4 days. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by seyewest(m): 9:55pm On Oct 22, 2017 |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by Kajolplus: 10:00pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
Obasa, Let us ASSUME your agent PAID, BOOKED appointment and fill DS form WITHOUT submission. Also, let us ASSUME you have RE-PAID another visa fee and you want to use it to start afresh. There is no cause for alarm IF you encouter (only when u want to book appointment) CLASH OF INFORMATION, you av no option than to contact embassy by email (support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com). I can assure you, they would sort it out (though prepare a cogent reason for your case because most Nigerian applicants are seen as fraudsters). 2 Likes |
