Mujtahida: Do we have a better substitute for Ekong and Balogun? I don't think so. Hence, Tiago Ilori can still be considered. Nacho and Ighalo have many contenders. Take it or leave it. |

daveP:what are we getting Enyeama for if not to support Mikel? And what does Martins know that he wants to tell these boys? Leon is 29-years old, John Ogu is 27, V. Moses is 26, Onazi is 25, each of these people have more than enough stories to use to inspire those boys concerning on and off pitch behaviour, and they can certainly offer better advice than Martins that has multiple baby mamas and no wife. What else will Martins offer them? Or does he have ogbonge World Cup experience to tell of? Tales from the bench perhaps 1 Like |

Mujtahida: Yes as a matter of fact. Obagoal started killing it in the Italian league in a top team Inter- Milan first. And on to the top leagues if the world. Before he decided to chase the €€€$$$£££ from MLS to China. Some of the talent that is being compared to him have not even reached the half of the heights he has reached. Ighalo may be better but to compare him to Dessers is almost insulting. A player playing in the lowly Belgium league for Utrecht. The question is can Obagoal still do it |

safarigirl:There's nothing Martins will bring that we don't have currently. See them talking Martins like we won Nations Cup and World Cup join when he was at the peak of his powers. After Martins, they'd call for Ik Uche, and give the team an entirely different kind of energy. No way. 1 Like |

komekn:Your first line is in the past tense. I didn't compare Ighalo with Dessers. You guys love stats. I only wanted you to check out Dessers stats. It's not a question of whether he can still do it. He has done his bit. Let him rest. Club football often predates and outlives national team football. His season has come and gone. I hope you know that Jay Jay can still play football very well. 3 Likes |

daveP:you said the players need someone to mentor them about on and OFF pitch behaviour. I believe his unconventional family counts as off pitch, we wouldn't want these boys endangering their careers and money by having multiple baby mamas. Not everyone will be able to get a team in the Chinese league that can pay them bastard money to afford child support 1 Like |

Mujtahida:Tastes and preferences of the managers during that period. His Levante and MLS days, he was banging in goals and they kept tagging him as 'finished'. His Levante manager said he wasnt finished yet even if peeps tagged him that. It was unfair to him. I personally prefer to see and Aluko than a Martins. Im in this cos he is tagged 'old' |

soetanoreoluwa:If not for that South Africa loss the man was driving on a fast lane to reduce the average age of the team. Wait ooo did Martins score 10 goal last weekend? I don't understand oo. Why didn't they clamour for him during the qualifiers. At least Enyeama's name has not left our lips since the qualifiers began even before Ikeme's challenge. But I didn't hear pim about Martins then but now trumpets are blaring. 3 Likes |

Just because somebody call for Martins, no mean say they believe in old legs. enough of the tagging. Forgiveness for example have always clamored for young players.. so just because he call martins that means say he is in #TeamOldLegs. Me i'm in #TeamPerformance oh. so much talk about building for the future. The inclusion of Martins can never derail that. I'm not clamoring for Martins but why are we crying as if should Martins manage to make it to the mundial the career of the plethora of 21 year olds we have will end. In fact i'm impressed with the pool of players we have in that 18-22 age range oh.. And I must say so much can happen before Qatar 2022. Team building is a continuous process with a mix of young and old (that are relevant). And it should always be so. Show me 3 solid CFs today that are proven in SE shirt, then I will say forget Martins. But let's truth be told, even at his age many of these young kids can't match his recent stats. Well, but I will be fair, let them battle it in camp. Rohr will not accept bribes. soetanoreoluwa: |
