once again, this has nothing to do with sentiments so you should remain from blabbing rubbish.

DaveP mentioned off pitch behaviour and then he says keep his personal life out of it. Is his personal life not part of his off pitch behaviour?

If you think a player's personal life does not contribute to his play on the football field, then explain why Iwobi was losing steam last year?

Or maybe Balotelli's personal life had nothing to do with his on-pitch antics? Let's not even go far, what is happening to Isaac Success' career when he's not paying London ashawos?

How can you say we should leave person life out of a player's off-pitch behaviour? It counts, as much as you all would rather not hear it because it doesn't make your own SENTIMENTAL argument look good

I didn't reply daveP because I wanted the matter to die off, but since you cannot refrain from dragging it, no problem.

Mikel is all the role model those boys will need. If he is not enough, they can look to 29-year old Leon, I don't know which status Martins has reached that he should be anybody's role model

You know it as much as I do. You just being sentimental. I have no business with Success Isaac. Why? This is a case of stupidity on his part. Not role model. Whoever told you that sob story of mikel being the role model has you for a sap. Is it not the same Mikel? Lets not even go there

Left to me desserts ,Bonaventure, onuachu, awoniyi, olayinka, nwakali, ajagun, and solanke are not super eagle materials for now u guys need to stop calling for their inclusion in the team, Joseph akpala also scored many goals in the Belgian league but flopped in the super eagles. Martins ,osaze and uche don't also have any business with super eagle.

My cf for world cup

Iheanacho
Ighalo
Tammy or kayode
Good pick

thanks for not being an asss to make your point

Some people here prefer to use the asshole method to make statements...

Like I said, the like for like is a preliminary thing, I thought about replacements based on how the game will be going, but to do the equations would be a long, boring read that nobody would be interested in

That would imply saying if we are leading after so and so minutes, put this person, if not, move this person to this place and sub in this other guy.....

I don't know about you, but it is too early in the morning to do any of that and I no get time. Besides, multiple people have done like for like sub's on this thread recently, only difference between me and them is I didn't do it on a board

Martins football age 34-35years....real age. 42-43years old, dis guys u re comparing martins re using real age not a falsified one grin

I know Obafemi Martins very well.

He was one of my boys back then at the white sand training pitch, in Lagos.

He is not up to 40. Haba.

He graduated from Coker Secondary school, Orile Igamnu in 1997. That was 20 years ago. Add 20 to average secondary school graduating students age . That would give you an estimate of Martins' age.

Yikes! Safari gal, na wah O! Na fight? On top this Ighalo, Iheanacho ,Martins issue? Haba! You have to understand that we cant always agree. You are not 100 percent right neither am I 100 percent wrong. So long as there is that marginal error, we have to learn how to make discourses without making the other person feel insignificant. You are one of the best analysts I have seen , never mind being a lady( its a plus) but it cant always be your way or the highway. So hereby, i declare ceasefire/ truce and I will appreciate it if you do same. Thanks

how is Martins better than kayode, nacho and ighalo....
can't you guys get it...
he is no way better than those we already have....

That's an assumption you make.

Kayode is as it stands he is not first choice at Gerona he is now playing in a better league than the lowly Austrian league. How many goals has he scored this season

We can make excuses for KC as much as we like, he has left the quality support of City and now he must prove himself. He is struggling if the truth must be told. How many goals has he scored in the EPL this season

Obagoal has scored in every league and has been outstanding quality. How many goals has he scored this season I wonder

Is Ighalo better I really don't know, they are different types of player. Statistically they are essentially on par.

Thanks for the complement.

But get something right. Like for like substitutions are not wrong. But they cannot be predetermined.

A coach can make like for changes to maintain the balance or structure of a team if the balance of play are in him team's favour and he has a comfortable lead.

About other peeps also proposing like for like, it is not every time that one has the appetite for arguments. Some times you just smile and maybe shake your head and read the next post.

Nobody even remembers that your Martins played for the Super Eagles, that is how irrelevant he is to this set of players.

And the Mikel you know would not have bailed out the team in Brazil, he wouldn't have even been there, the Mikel you know would have bailed on the team with Enyeama and Emenike after that Musa debacle, that is the Mikel YOU know.....

However, the Mikel I know, the one who has learnt from age and experience and will certainly have more stories to tell these boys on how much one's behavior can shape their career is the ODOGWU, the leader cherished by team mates and fans. That is the Mikel that has influenced people and has transformed himself from a player we all seemed to loath to one we can't do without.

There are very few players who have the stories Mikel has and Martins is not one of them

The era of Martins and his classmates is gone.
Its like we did not learn from the mistakes of having Rufai and Yekini at the 1998 WC.
Yekini was even in a better position to make the team than Martins is right now.

We have to move forward with the crop of Attackers we have.

Ighalo, Iheanacho, Nwakaeme, Kayode we have now. I have sadly dropped my case on Abraham.

Let's move on with these ones and any other strikers that may sparkle this season. And as usual we'll also depend on the abilities of our AMs and wingers for us to get goals.

forgiveness:

Ighalo statistics is 26 matches, 15 goals and 6 assists while Martins is 13 matches, 7 goals and 4 assists.

Statistically speaking who is doing well? grin

Statistically, Ighalo is better.
Take both to same terms:
Ighalo: 13 matches, 7.5 goals, 3 assist
Martins: 13 matches, 7 goals, 4 assist

If you're going by statistics alone, then Kanu Nwankwo was a flop for super eagles.

Statistics does not really tell true picture. An example, a very powerful short that hits the upright is counted as off target whereas a very feeble pass to the keeper is on target. A team with 70% more possession may actually have performed woefully if such possession was 80% in its own half.

Honestly i don't want to come in since yesterday see guys debating on whether Martins deserves invitation.

But i read a moniker who said Martins is rich, connected and powerful to justify his reason for calling for Martins invitation,i just said what's going on.

On a role model,it's simple, Mikel may not be a role model to some but those who acknowledged him as one,we must respect their view.

I don't know Mikel but i know Martins very well right when he was nobody through my younger cousin who happened to share d same agent with him. They went to Italy courtesy Churchill.

Witt this i suppose to be biased but i w not coz we are talking of national team and we all want d best for d team.

When my friend Michael2 said something about Martins,Osaze,Ik Uche i told him 'I NO DEY O'truly they are Nigerians and if Rohr believe in them why not but just too glaring we don't need them,to come and do what winning WC for us.

We need the best quality players irrespective of age.

Young and hungry does not equate necessarily with quality and or outstanding ability
.

Kayode has not scored once this season is that your measurement of quality Now that he has moved up to a quality league in a far from top quality team.

If Kayode were in the EPL were would he be top performer If he was in the championship would he be able to be a top performer If he was in the Chinese league assuming any club would consider him good enough. Would he be a top player in that league I have my doubts.

You used the term old legs, what makes him old age or performance How old is Kayode compared to Obagoal in any case, not that it matters, it's irrelevant.

According to the Bleacher report the Chinese league is ranked no. 7 in the world. I don't really consider these assessments as being substantive. But it's indicative how much better it is than the Belgium and way higher than the Danish and Turkish leagues. See link below.

Ighalo(Kayode @ 60 mins)...Kelechi

Thoughts?
Seeing that below average Agu in your list left a bitter taste in not mouth... that guy is not half as good as John Ogu.

It baffles me why that Mike Agu even gets to play while a better John Ogu with his Physical presence, ability to hold and pass the ball and shooting from outside the 18 yard box wastes on the bench. Very unfortunate.

seconded....
what's your take on this young lad

Dominic Vinícius Eberechukwu Uzoukwu ?
watched his video...think I liked him..he is like Isaac success kind of player..brings his body to play on the ball...good on the air too and ball control.
should his move to Everton or any of the epl teams comes true come January next year....
seen him, not excited about him.

He won't be gatecrashing the team to Russia, that's certain, but if he has something awesome to offer, we'll see after the World Cup

goal.com Nigeria is not dedicated to just Naija football news surprisingly.

But i've seen a story about Uzoho I should post here.

They do feature beta naija news often though. Still reliable than these og and ans.

Sidenote: If Bakambu was european or brazilian, we for no hear word.

Age is not a decider of outstanding quality.
Sure. I'm just on the train of those that want a younger team taken to Russia.
