joseph1013: Haba na the angle was absolutely not tight. It was as straight forward as it gets after rounding a keeper. The only thing was that he took it on his not so strong right foot. I already posted the video. Look at both Messi and Suarez reaction to the miss. |

ENGLAND: Championship - Round 14 Whoscored Nigerian Championship Player of the Week | Sammy Ameobi Reading 0-2 Middlesbrough Anglo-Portuguese center back, Tiago Ilori started for Reading but was stretchered off as early as the 28th minute after he collided with teammate Liam Moore in a clash of heads. He was taken to hospital after the incident. However Ilori’s relative short time on the pitch worked to his favor as he was the top performer in terms of pass success rate. According to whoscored, he attempted 26 passes, and 25 of them were accurate. +Stats Rating: 5.97 Sone Aluko’s time on the pitch was however not interrupted. Playing as Reading’s right attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation, Aluko made the Top 5 in three whoscored categories, for total shots(2), 6.1% possession (72 touches), and 2 successful dribbles. Aluko took one of Reading’s three corner-kicks. +Stats Rating: 6.39 Fulham 1-1 Bolton Fulham's Sheyi Ojo is still out due to a dislocated shoulder. The Liverpool loanee is expected to remain sidelined for another 5 weeks. +Stats Rating: N/A Sammy Ameobi returned with another MOTM recognition, after only missing out of it in the previous round. Ameobi scored Bolton’s only goal putting them ahead on the 28th minute. He was right there on time to calm down a pull out from the rear. He cleverly evaded his markers who had caught up with him to slot the ball to the bottom right past a helpless Fulham goalie. Although he was dispossessed three times, Ameobi came out in top 5 in whoscored statistics for top tackles (3 ) and dribbles (3). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reEFJfJ4zDE +Stats Rating: 8.10 Super Eagles hopeful, Derik Osede returned from injury to Bolton’s bench. Manager, Philip Parkinson, however, kept the former Real Madrid Casilas center back, out of action. +Stats Rating: N/A Cadiff 0-0 Milwall Millwall's Fred Onyedinma was a late sub-in two minutes into extra time. The 20-year-old forward therefore got a default whoscored rating. +Stats Rating: 6.0 Hull 2-3 Nottingham Forest Ola Aina was again in charge of Hull's right-back department. The Super Eagles defender who is the leading right back in the Championship so far this season according to whoscored statistical rating, completed 36 accurate passes out of 41 to become the best player in pass success rate -- for those who put in a full shift. Aina, however, was dispossessed once, and committed two fouls. +Stats Rating: 6.59 Fikayo Tomori remained in Hull's dugout for the entire period. +Stats Rating: N/A Birmingham 0-0 Aston Villa Villa's Josh Onomah put in a full shift as a support striker. The England U21 midfielder who is said to be on the radar of Super Eagles coach, Genort Rohr, was cautioned on the 76th minute. He only made whoscored’s top 5 in the category of tackles, with a 100% success rate from 3 tackles attempted, and was dispossessed once. +Stats Rating: 6.15 Burton 1-2 Ipswich Dominic Iorfa spent the entire match duration in Ipswich’s bench. +Stats Rating: N/A Ipswich CM, Tom Adeyemi went missing again after his hamstring injury issue resurfaced. He had just returned from injury and was handed a starting place in the previous round. +Stats Rating: N/A Forgotten Super Eagles midfielder, Hope Akpan did not come off Burton’s bench once again. +Stats Rating: N/A QPR 2-1 Wolves Super Eagles wannabe Nedum Onuoha has remained out due to a hamstring injury he picked up in September. He is expected to remain in the sidelines for another month or so. +Stats Rating: N/A Bright Osayi-Samuel was not listed by QPR for the second consecutive time. The 19-year-old midfielder featured last in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland on the 14th of October. +Stats Rating: N/A Bright Enobakhare was a 71th minute sub-in for Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 19-year-old managed 1 shot off target, and 5 accurate passes out of 6, for the considerable shot time he spent on the pitch. He was dispossessed once, and found wanting for offside twice, hence, did not improve on his whoscored default rating. +Stats Rating: 6.0 Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Barnsley Barnsley’s 19-year-old forward, Ike Ugbo did not get the nod to feature against Sheffield Wednesday. The Chelsea loanee remained in the bench for the entire duration of the encounter. +Stats Rating: N/A 2 Likes 1 Share |

BascoVanVeli:Cmon...I can see you posted the incident. That cannot be the open goal you're referring to. It was a tight angle. It was an easy goal to miss. You need stamina and most importantly balance to score that. You could see the ball hit the pole, right? That's how much of an angle it was. And his reaction says nothing about it being an open net or not. I'm a Barca fan and I have seen the same reaction time and time again when La Purga misses, even from far away free kicks. |

Personally, i'd want Iwobi to add scoring to his game. I dont want a Mikel repeat. Need a goalscoring midfielder. Enough of praising athleticism and physical. His scoring would attract suitors if he does 10+/season. If pa Wenger doesnt wana appreciate, clubs will. And if he gets better, the Nigerian flag soars. 3 Likes |

UPDATE Odemwingie Scores First Goal In 3 Months In Madura Win, Nwokolo On Target October 29, 2017 12:36 pm By James Agberebi: Former Super Eagles striker Osaze Odemwingie scored his first goal in three months for 10-man Madura United in their 4-3 away win against Persiba in the Indonesian Super League on Sunday. Odemwingie’s last goal was also against Persiba in a 1-0 home win back in July this year before being sidelined with injury. He had also provided an assist for Nigerian-born Indonesian international Gregory Nwokolo for Madura’s second goal in the win against Persiba back in July. Madura went 1-0 up through Fabiano on 24 minutes but a brace from Marlon Silva (42nd, 47th minutes) gave Persiba a 2-1 lead. Nwokolo drew Madura level in the 57th minute before Srdjan Lopicic restored the home side’s lead on 77 minutes. Prior to Lopicic’s goal, Fabiano was sent off in the 62nd minute after receiving his second yellow card. Odemwingie made it 3-3 in the 78th minute before Nwokolo scored the winner in the 93rd minute. Odemwingie has now scored 14 goals in 21 league appearances for Madura United who are now fifth on 57 points in the league table. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/odemwingie-scores-first-goal-3-months-madura-win-nwokolo-target/ |

Kog45: That is why I will always voice out against this obvious dirty business going on in the national team. I am doing my research to know if these agents are in collaboration with some of these clubs and coaches because you will suddenly see a player who has been on the bench fir donkey years start getting playing two weeks before the announcement of Super Eagles list and before you say jack Robinson you will see such players name on the list. Once they play one or two matches, people will claim they are super eagles member or you will hear they are versatile hence the need to keep them. But other players playing regularly often gets ignored. They always make sure those doing well never get a call and if eventually they are forced to oblige, they will give such player 15 minutes of game time. Why? Because they don't want make em shine take win the heart of fans. If at all they need experienced goalkeeper apart from Vincent it must be Dele Aiyenugba not Ejide. |

SUPER EAGLE UPDATE GERNOT ROHR COULD RECALL OBAFEMI MARTINS TO NIGERIA SQUAD Gernot Rohr could recall Obafemi Martins to Nigeria squad Obafemi Martins -B by Phumzile Ngcatshe Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins could return to the Super Eagles squad after coach Gernot Rohr has hinted as much. The Shanghai Greenland Shenhua striker could gatecrash Nigeria’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia according to Rohr. The manager has made this revelation during a radio interview when he was asked about the chances of the forward making the squad for the World Cup. ”We will call the best men, for now everybody wants to come because we are in the World Cup. The players who brought us to the World Cup, I don’t forget them. It’s very important “, Rohr said. ” There are other players we are also looking at calling to beef up the team, but for now we are looking at getting good games for better preparations for the World Cup .“ Martins was part of the Nigerian team in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It was the only global tournament the 33-year-old has played in his career. http://africanfootball.com//news/733135/Gernot-Rohr-could-recall-Obafemi-Martins-to-Nigeria-squad |

What different view/angle would the full match differ from this highlight? I watched the game and even the commentators exclaimed he missed an open goal. It must not be a Yakubu style b4 it's classified an open net miss. Please how would you classify Charlie Adam's miss yesterday? Abeg all na open net whether work or no work. And I watched the full game wella Oasis007: |

Mujtahida: inverted fullbacks will NEVER be in use. Fullbacks are meant to stop crosses and that means a RB for example must fall into an awkward position where he can only clear the ball with his right foot so if he is dominantly left-footed he will make a mistake. This is why playing Dani Alves as an inverted winger(which was tried by Guardiola) will not work, despite him being the best RB presently. Like I said, I want Aina at RB 1 Like |

So Jordon Ibe and Tammy Abraham set to declare... Oluwashina Okeleji I tend to believe it because of the source. Jordon 'Iybe' will learn how to pronounce his name properly. But he will face a battle to make the WC team. Will he play for Nigeria if he is not selected for the world cup? If Tammy declares, he will make the squad. He is in great form. 3 Likes |
