I was brought up a jw, I've always been the curious type. I am not the type that just takes things without researching deeply into it. I started noticing a lot of thing so wrong when I was a teenager. 1- when you don't go out to preach you are viewed as not spiritually strong. what is the purpose of Jesus death? Did he die on the cross so we preach about the gospel or so we can have everlasting life? cos the way JW place so much importance in house to house felt like it was all Jesus died for. So we go out and make disciples of people of all the nations. Oh, Jesus would be proud then. "I died so you move house to house to spread the gospel" wow, great. 2) no matter what they say to cover up, it is strictly forbidden to have any other religion materials apart from JW. You are not even to have it. I took a friend's church brochure, the topics sounded interesting, so I took it home to learn more. All hell broke loose. It resulted in me returning the book the next day. what is wrong if I accept someone's material to possibly learn more about God? What is the Jw afraid for? that its member would go astray? But they say they teach the truth but why are they scared to let it's members broaden their knowledge, contrasts informations and know the truth ? 3) When I started asking questions, telling them my findings, digging deeper they started calling me apostate. Jesus never called anybody apostate. When the pharisees questioned his source of power to perform miracles, he didn't called them apostate, none did he shunned anybody. And is it biblical? Where was it stated in the Bible to shun people who question you? If they teach the truth why are they afraid of giving answers? 4) Jesus said you should baptized in the name of the Father, son and holy Spirit. When you are being baptized as a Jw, you are asked if you know that your baptism signifies you as a member of Jehovah witness where did the Bible make mentioned that baptism signifies one as a member of a religion? Is it scriptural? Doesn't it sounds like you are getting baptized into a religion not to God? Why should my baptism identify me as being a member to Jw? Is it the religion I am getting baptized to or to God? I find that part offensive hence my reason of not getting baptized as a JW These and so many questions I have but they won't answer. Since I can not leave well I'm stuck. In fact I wrote all my questions down, when they saw I wasn't giving up they stopped answering me. I stopped believing in religion a long time ago. I think God would not choose one religion from the other cos no religion is right in the eyes of God. We should do Good for the motherless and fatherless, give to the needy and obey his commandments. That's the only true religion. the rests are doctrines of men, twisted to make it look like it's the truth 3 Likes |

softG: It is evident? where is the evidence? All your previous bibles before 2013 had the scriptures and all of a sudden, you take out more than 20 verses and spew all this cut and join explanation? So it makes sense that you open to a bible scripture and start from verse 11 incase of John 8? You transcribed based on other bible versions but suddenly you're the one who's the authority on what to omit? Forgetting that in Deuteronomy 4:2 and Revelation 22:19, it said not to remove anything from God's word. You also look down on other bible versions that don't have the name Jehovah, forgetting that God's name is YHWH but here you are picking and mixing what goes in a bible. You know "spurious" means fake? So you're saying parts of the bible you've previously used are fake? I know you want to defend your religion, but don't you see how ridiculous you sound? |

Ginaz: everyone will come to that point in their lives where they have to make a decision. we just have to make the right decision, else we would regret. everyone has to carry his/her own load. there's one thing that is certain. this world and all it represents will pass away. the world and its thinking, its belief systems, its knowledge, its ideas, its institutions...they will not survive the great day of Jehovah. - 1 John 2:15-17. the reason is that they do not originate with God. we have to make sure that the worlds thinking and ideas do not influence our decisions. our decisions should be influenced by the bible if we are to survive this wicked world. 3 Likes |

In Russia they have been tagged a terrorist sect. I will rather listen to a Muslim than a JW |

@All: on the issue of blood, I have 2 points to make. 1. To understand Acts 15: 20,28&29 we need to ask some questions. Let me quote verse 29: "that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality........ ".(NKJV). The first question is why was this instruction given? Genesis 9:3,4sheds some light. Verse 4:"but you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, it's blood "(NKJV). This was after God said every animals should be food for Adam. It was clearly stated, don't eat the animals(flesh) with their blood(original instruction). Now fast forward to Acts 15, reading the whole chapter it was written about circumcision. Lots of pagan practices have crept into the congregation which includes eating or direct consumption of blood hence the need for that instructions. My second question: "Can the start of medical transfusion be dated as early as that time?" If not, if not I don't under the interpretation of JW that "abstain" involves blood transfusion. 2. You won't accept blood transfusion but you can accept blood fractions. Is that not double standard?? 1 Like |

Olifiz: The word doesn't have to be on the bible......in baptism the name of the Father, Son and Spirit is used....that signifies the trinity. "Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to"..........existing in the form of God.....what does that mean |

nkembaby008: wow. Thanks for that verse as stated by our Lord Jesus. The same in Mark 7:15-16..then he went on till 23 to describe examples in the intent or heart of man which really leads to defilement. I actually loved the wisdom of Jesus proved here when he went against the doctrines of elders and of men. We have been saying the samethings over and over again, people tend to misinterpret God's word leading to entirely another form of doctrine. We have it all across Christianity. |

DavidEsq: I m actually getting to understand your belief systems on blood. You feel touching blood is an abomination? If it was, what role did it play in the sacrificial system in the old testament i.e. the blood of bull, Rams and the likes that were spilled for the atonement of sin? I am not Jesus, neither am I God, but I have previously stated God's mind as required with the misuse of blood in relation with idolatry, immorality and even witchcraft. I do not wanna repeat myself. Any other questions asides blood? Do have a splendid day my friend. |
Re: Five Things You Never Knew About Jehovah's Witnesses. by DavidEsq(m): 8:00am On Oct 30, 2017 |
Malolu:Dat was the only purpose of blood: Hebrews 9:12-14. For the cleansing of sin and in the old testament, it was done by the appointed priests. Saying God does not use comma is like asking why u use the capital letter for "God". None of us ever said "touching" of blood was an abomination. If u kee fowl, u no go wash the blood comot ur tray or knife? An does that not involve touching the blood? |

Emmahunk: I am a JW, will always be, come to my crib and beat me..lol. But here is d point my very good friend. We believe in Jesus Christ, what we don't believe however is that he is equal to God. Don't fail to read these portions , john 14:28...Jesus said his Father is greater than he. Again if they were equal , why did Jesus have to say "father it is possible let this cup pass away, not as u I will..."...again, why was Jesus always quick to say that he does the will of HE who sent him. Jesus is a creation...Colossians 1:15...u may have to read preceding verses to get d point clearer. God, the almighty has no beginning, even in john 1:1, the "word" which refers to Jesus was said to have a beginning. Granted, the verse says, the "word" was "God"(NIV), it clearly stated that d "word" was "with" God. Evidently, we are talking about two personalities. You probably know by heart the words of John 3:16, that Gods love made him send his son,,,. The emphasis is on the "sender" and the "sent"...Jesus on earth did not hesitate to make reference to dis. We believe in Jesus, but we do not agree that he is d almighty. Even wen he said "no one comes to the father except through him" , recognises that he is a means not an end, so we uphold these. As JW's, what we suffer is a case of give a dog a bad name and hang it. Be sure to read d verses in ur translation, add me on watsap so we can chat...Again, I am a JW...08038999587 1 Like |

nkembaby008:since u want to reason like a baby lemme break it down for u. It is mandatory cos when u are in such state of needing blood u might not av strength to tell d doc ur biblical believe and they might want to do blood transfusion for u out of discretion and might not listen to ur family member that u don't want blood. That card will stand as ur rep with ur signature. More like a will on how ur property should be shared. Do u now understand y it is mandatory now? U are not forced cos for u to say u are a witness it means u agree with all their teaching including d topic bawt blood. And dy don't force anyone to be a witness or av u heard of such? My cousin isn't a witness yet despite growing up in a witness family yet no1 forces him.. Now do u understand Mandatory to own a card in case of incasity buh u are not forced to get d card or not talk blood or be a witness |

softG: What about the people who knew about them ( after 1879 till date ie including the dead and living) and refused to join? Since you know about the dead one in times past and jws, then you should know about them because you claim to know and have the truth At the end of the day the resurrected ones have to obey watchtower rules if not they will still die. Your leaders think their smart. They avoid giving answers for people who are aware of jws and their doctrines but never join the organization in their website yet write in their magazines saying all non jws will be slaughtered in Armageddon because they refused to join their organization |

By the way, I did a deep reasoning yesterday after this thread on the issue of blood. I find it hard that God would shed the blood of his only begotten son for us to get everlasting life but punish one that takes blood to save his life. I find it very hard. God made a law about blood but it's the same God out of compassion that shed his son's blood so we can have life. So would God hardened his heart when it is a matter of life and death? God has shown time and time over that he is a compassionate God. It is wrong to let someone die because God values life. Jesus healed a man on a sabbath day. Note, to not obey the regulations of the sabbath is a very serious sin at that time, the result is death. But Jesus shown that life was more important by healing the sick man. Mark 3:1-6. If Jw say God is not wicked to punish one in Hell, then should God be wicked so much to punish one that takes blood to save a life? please let's all reason, let's do deep thinking Jw are like the Pharisees of Jesus time. They value commandments more than life. They would hardened their hearts in the face of life and death. think people, think. 2 Likes |

atoleybaba: I never said anyone was forced to be a witness, you keep beating about the bush. I said it was compulsory for a JW to not take blood and the only way they can enforce it is to make sure every JW has a no-blood card. Do you know mandatory and compulsory mean the same thing? How can you say its not by force but in the same breath say it's mandatory? They really need to encourage the youths to pursue higher education so simple comprehension skills like this, do not elude you. |
