pacretus: So you proud that you waist 5 hours that could of been spent doing physical training or learning just making your recruits tired? I mean sure I have done all night and morning g training, route marches and opfok but even then you still learning even if it is just learning how to keep motivated. 2 Likes |

andrewza: If it's not I gave you an offer pls take it up and post the pic. Attempt that stress position for just 1hr and u'd stop this joke. Besides that's nothing compared to the more difficult aspects of our training regime in Nigeria which costs millions of dollars to produce a single soldier. The Nigerian soldier is a complete soldier and the best Africa has to offer. Though very very rare and hard to capture a Nigerian Soldier, Airman or Naval serviceman we have seen vids of one or two captured Nigerian servicemen in all our years of brutal combat and how brave they performed under duress even up to death without compromising our devotion to the code. This is a known. When u have proof of such in modern times from yonder then come back and attempt reason else remain silent. |

overhypedsteve: The absence of all you want don't mean the presence of weakness. Never said everything was OK. And I'll tell you everything will never be OK even in the US. If u had managed to remove your bais as you are wont to do you would have understood the spirit of my contents. I'm disappointed but not frustrated; two different things. My point is corruption is still a problem in Nigeria which we all know. However problems are not peculiar to Nigeria alone which should draw your attention to objectivity. Having said that Nigeria is capable of rising to the occasion as a giant should whenever situation demanded it putting our weight behind our engagements. This is what gives us the edge in contemporary Africa. Now that route and pattern of policy making in Abuja is the bone of contention. And never said anything about invading SA with A-Jets. We ain't invading them. Not gonna invade them. Not even with JF-17s or Flankers. |

Covert1: Done it. As I said it not the worst yest it the one bragged about the most. It does not strengthen muscles or do a y thing for you. Now as I said leopard crawl 1000m then fire man carry for 1000m back. You not solder and have never done basic training. These punishments make you go wow but truth fully any really solder knows there are far worse things. Hell one 1 instructor can make people collapse simply from normal drills going non stop. 1 Like |

andrewza:let it go sir... I'm a Nigerian and I personally... am of the opinion that such training is repressive, archaic, primitive and in no way productive. . standing upside down and sometimes carry stones does not in any way increase any stamina nor increase the pain threshold of a soldier to resist interrogation. . it is lack of professionalism bordering on gross human rights abuse... treating soldiers in such inhumane way. . at the end civilians are made to suffer the consequences of such backward act. 5 Likes

US pledges to help fund Africa counterterrorism task force The Trump administration is considering providing up to $60 million to a five-nation counterterrorism task force in the Sahel region of Africa, several weeks after a deadly firefight drew public attention to the US military's presence there. "Defeating terrorism depends on making sure terrorist organizations cannot have safe havens on any continent," Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in a statement Monday. "To that end, pending consultation with Congress, the United States is today pledging up to $60 million to support the G5 Sahel Joint Force's counterterrorism efforts," he added, referring to a UN-backed group of five Sahel countries — Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania and Niger — who joined with the African Union to address terrorism and organized crime in the region. "This money will bolster our regional partners in their fight to ensure security and stability in the face of ISIS and affiliated groups and other terrorist networks," Tillerson went on to say in his statement. "This is a fight we must win, and these funds will play a key role in achieving that mission."The announcement comes as diplomats from around the world are meeting to raise money for the G5 Sahel Joint Force, which is made up of regional military and police personnel, as well as United Nations peacekeepers and French troops. The group has estimated that it would need a budget of nearly $500 million in its first year, but pledges have so far fallen short of that, with the European Union promising about $58 million, and each of the participating African governments committing a little over $11 million annually. A State Department spokesperson told CNN the funding is being provided as bilateral assistance, rather than through the United Nations, which US officials previously indicated they wanted to avoid. "The money pledged will be provided through in-kind support to G5 partners," the spokesperson said. "It will not be spent through the UN." link http://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/30/politics/us-africa-counterterrorism-task-force/index.html?sr=twCNN103117us-africa-counterterrorism-task-force1046AMStory |

pacretus: We have seen other nations including the US they so much worship in Nigeria haze some of their most effective units. They think warfare is andrewza's South Africa whose soldiers have not withstood any recent credible small unit tactical offensive. That's the intelligence. We are not dummies sitting in Abuja and enjoying it's beauty. We do our job. Dear, don't mind saboteurs with inferiority complex. The sad thing is they don't even know it. People are incognito on Nairaland else some of them won't even show face. This is worse than low self-esteem. They are sheer disgrace to Nigerianness (my word) and cowards of the highest order. 2 Likes |

pacretus: Pls don't mind that illiterat.e. Giving him attention pumps his mediocrity. In today's dollars it takes about 10 million dollars to train a Nigerian soldier. May have even gone up under President Buhari. But inferior complex can't make locals bereft of any value believe that can come out of Black Africa. They want us to be apologists. Tufiakwa! Pls forgive my language forgot my curse word. |

andrewza: Won't take your bait. You won't know who I am. But don't tell me about soldiery. Clearly it's self evident you are the average soldier. I need only challenge you to a 6km run and shame you with the girls. Pls rest this matter. Our training is significantly different than yours which is why we are the go to people to get the hard job done in Africa. |

upko1: Dude, the Nigerian military are not being employed to guard banks or churches. The military presence are only seen in churches during the thick bokoharam crises in which their duty is to support the men of the Nigerian police force. The Nigerian army provides escort services to only high ranking personalites. Be aware that some men of the Nigerian police force make use of military like camo (I'm not talking about the police blue camo). In as much as you're ready to type junks and accuse, kindly do that with facts. 2 Likes |
