Please house, how can I buy this WAPCO Right Issue? I've been calling Meritrade since yesterday and the Staff has been telling me that they are still waiting for information.
That being said, I have 892 units, how many units am I qualified to buy?

Coca-Cola is making billions from the Nigerian market, but when the foreigners became the majority shareholder they decided to delist the company and personalize the profits.


MTN became the market leader in Africa because of the Nigerian market. They will rather give you 100k free credit or 1 million on who wants to be a millionaire rather than giving loyal customers 50k worth of MTN shares.

Thats criminal. There is a code of ethics on insiders dealing. Connected persons especially those on the board of quoted coys must always inform the exchange whenever they are increasing their stakes.

It is not illegal for investors to take up their rights and also ask for more.

The foreigners increased their holdings by raising foreign currency denominated convertibles corporate bonds between 2000 and 2005. Most retail investors didn't participate in such, because of the difficulties in getting foreign currencies.

The majority shareholder also gave loans to the companies which were converted to shares. They also raised funds through right issues.

They also bribed some of the leaders of the shareholders associations.
Stock market wealth was really transferred during the meltdown.

Your broker can help you with that. CSL stockbrokers is very good with such.

You can decide to sell your rights and add a margin of N5 to N7 on your right.

Some of us want to diversify that is why some investors are looking at manufacturing, food and beverages stocks.

I have all the FUGAZ, but a situation whereby the banking sector takes 75% of my portfolio size is not good enough .

Although I bought when banking stocks were relatively very cheap. Now I am selling some of the banking sector shares especially those that have given very good return. Eg UBA @ less than N3, Access @ around N3.5.

The only non-FUGAZ banking stock in my Portfolio ie Skye Bank really humbled me. Anyway we lose some and gain some, the most important thing is that our gains should be more than our losses.
