HERE'S MY TAKE ON THE LIKELY EXPECTATIONS OF OUR INVESTMENT HORIZON WITH EMPHASIS ON THE STOCK MARKET: 〰ON THE NEGATIVES; WITH THE ECONOMY STILL A BIT FRAGILE AND THE LACK OF SUFFICIENT POLICY BUFFER ON THE FISCAL SIDE, DOWNSIDE RISK CANNOT BE COMPLETELY IGNORED. MORESO, WITH THE PLAN BY OUR NON-PROACTIVE PRESIDENT TO EXPAND HIS CABINET. ...I BELIEVE THAT THIS COULD (Pls kindly note the word could) AMONG OTHER THINGS RESULT IN; - A NEGATIVE STRETCH ON OUR ALREADY WEAK RESOURCES. - A SURGE IN RECURRENT EXPENDITURE. - A WEAKENING OF OUR CURRENCY THE NAIRA ...WHICH COULD ALSO BE A DRAW BACK ON THE VISIBLY SNAIL-PACE REDUCTION IN INFLATION RATE. 〰ON THE POSITIVE; LUCKILY THOUGH, OIL PRICE HAS BEEN UP RECENTLY (would be nice to have it remain above $60 per barrel), THE RESULT OF WHICH HAD BEEN A STEADY RISE IN OUR RESERVE. IF ONLY THIS GOVERMENT CAN PUT A CAP ON RECURRENT EXPENDITURE, CUT DOWN ON SPENDING, AND MAYBE, JUST MAYBE DO A LITTLE MORE ON THE FISCAL SIDE, THEN I DARE SAY THAT THERE CAN BE NO BETTER INVESTMENT DESTINATION THAN NIGERIA. -THIS IS INDEED THE PLACE TO BE !! IN TRUTH, THE STOCK MARKET WILL USUALLY ATTRACT A BIGGER CHUNK OF ANY INFLOW. WITH THE AMENDMENT ON PENSION FUND INVESTMENT, A SEEMING STABILITY IN OIL PRICE AND THE NAIRA, LOW FOREIGN INTEREST RETURNS, FALLING YEILD ON OTHER INVESTMENT STREAMS AND THE RETURN OF MARKET CONFIDENCE (As can be seen from the recent upsurge in both foreign and local investor participation), ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE NIGERIA STOCK EXCHANGE SOARS (...A small time if u ask me). THOUGH THE MARKET HAD BEEN ON A POSITIVE MOOD, IT IS STILL VERY MUCH RELATIVELY UNDERVALUED WHEN COMPARED TO A WHOLE LOT OF ITS AFRICAN PEERS. HERES IS A RUN DOWN OF MY TOP STOCK PICK WITH A SHORT-MID TERM TIMEFRAME: ▶ DANGOTE FLOUR ▶ LARFAGE WAPCO ▶ ETERNA OIL AND GAS ▶ CHAMPION BREWERIES ▶ CAVERTON ▶ ZENITH BANK ▶ FIDELITY BANK ▶ UBA ▶ APRICAN PRUDENTIAL REGISTRARS ▶ NAHCO ▶ FLOURMILLS PLC ▶ FCMB I CALL THEM THE 'WINNING TWELVE' because I BELIEVE THAT THESE COYs WILL DO WELL IN THE SHORT-MID TERM FRAME. PLS THIS IS JUST ME IN MY VERY HUMBLE ABODE DOING SOME RANDOM THINKING. -NA SMALL BOY I BE OOO. NOTE: PLS DO WELL TO READ THRU MY SIGNATURE. 6 Likes 1 Share |

When the bulls are around, everyone is an 'expert'. I only hope people will adjust their investment strategy to suit their risk appetite! The capital market is not for everybody if you don't want to have heart attack. For those buying illiquid stocks, note that 'money' is made when you 'sell' or when dividends are paid. You may end up with 'paper' profit when you try to SELL and your broker keep telling you no buyer. For those eyeing stocks planning public offer/rights issue, thread carefully! Don't be shocked if they are 'pumping' the price up because of the planned offer. For those crunching numbers, it is a good thing. Note however that there are FACTS BEHIND THE FIGURES. After crunching the numbers, check the FACTS BEHIND THE FIGURES and do a reasonableness test. Remember when Nigeria was supposedly consuming huge litres of petrol during the subsidy era. All the figures indicates huge consumption. But a quick check of the number of vehicles (plus generators) multiply by the average daily consumption shows that the figures cannot be RIGHT. And before you buy any stock, check the management team and the board of directors. If they are dominated by LAWYERS, you better flee! If they are filled with people of questionable characters, RUN. As you are buying, make sure you have an exit strategy also. Happy investing! 14 Likes 3 Shares |

Diamond's impairment charge for 2016 audited was 59 billion, impairment charge Q3 2017 35 billion .. isn't it clear their risk management is very poor...the divestment income would be used to plug these holes, may even end up been lost again... a leaking bucket would not be filled by continuously pouring water into it , the leakage needs to be repaired ... 5 Likes |

THE militant group, Niger Delta
Avengers, NDA, which, last year,
aborted attacks on oil installations
in the Niger Delta region to enable
the Pan Niger Delta Forum,
PANDEF, dialogue with the Federal Government, suspended
its ceasefire today. Avengers The group in a
statement by the spokesman, self-
styled “General” Mudoch Agbinibo,
renounced PANDEF, led by former
Federal Commissioner for
Information, Chief Edwin Clark, ex- militant leader, Government
Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, and
the Reformed Niger Delta
Avengers, RNDA. It said in a statement, “The Niger
Delta Avengers are back and will
not spare anything or anyone on
our path to actualize a united and
free Niger Delta.” “Our next line of
operation will not be like the 2016 campaign, which we operated
successfully without any

and bloody, as we are shall crush
everything we meet on our path to
completely put off the fires that
burn to flair gas in our
communities and cut every pipe |

onegentleguy: let try as much as possible not to mislead newbies who rely on this thread for stock tips. not saying you are misleading brov, but there are some stock listed above which u shouldn't have for the newbies for which because of their penny nature they can jump in. champion breweris worse Q3 so far should be selling around 50k, nacho selling at premium and fcmb which failed to declare Q3 4 Likes |

maishai: You can't time the market. The bear you are waiting may come or may not come. First Bank at a current market capitalisation of N250 billion still looks cheap all things being equal. I think a number of stocks are yet to be approximately priced. Some stocks can be expensive even in a bear market, while some can be very cheap in a bull market. 4 Likes |

@currentprice.Did you notice that CAVERTON PLC did not make any profit in July,August and september? it reflected in their 9 months result. It is the same problem UBA had in their 9 months result. It is a thing of concern but lets believe that the new contract awarded to them for 5 years will boost their revenue and profit like never before.I am having a good time now to make more researches(weekend things) 1 Like |
