Good evening guys! Ive been following the posts on this thread for a while now. I am really impressed by the desire shown to help one another. I am still learning the ropes. I would come up with my questions as soon as I start my application In the interim, someone should please enlighten me. I do not know if the requirements for trv have changed. A friend's agent said it is necessary for him to have a one-way ticket and accommodation booked for his visa processing. Please how true is this. Maybe the agent is not processing a student visa or he's fake. |

Demills: Hello my MUN colleague, Good to see you here! Firstly, what was your TOEFL IBT score? It's quite unfortunate that you didn't meet up to the English language proficiency requirement for Memorial University. , I don't know why MUN always find it difficult to waive this English requirement for applicants from Nigeria, but not withstanding you still have a chance to be admitted by MUN conditionally into your 4 years academic program and successful completion of an ESL program will be a pre-requisite to your enrollment into your academic program. To make it understandable in a lay man language, inorder to be admitted by MUN, you will have to register for an ESL program before you will be conditionally accepted into your academic program or better still, i'll advice you try IELTS TEST, I believe you will do better. Additionally, I also suggest you write to the Assistant registrar that the English requirement should be waived for you on the ground that you were thought throughout your high school education in English, hold on and wait for their response. I hope this information helps. All the best colleague! 1 Like |

10shuare:I'm sorry for your visa denial. Based on your question in bold, I would encourage you to not make a desperate decision. A student visa denial solely based on insufficient funds is probably the most solvable denial possible. To be blunt, Canada would be a better decision than Hungary. But if you don't have the funds to go to Canada, then go to Hungary or wherever you can afford. The main issue with your Canada app is that you applied using a family friend sponsor and VOs (visa officers) are usually skeptical because third-party sponsors aren't necessarily credible. A more credible sponsor is your dad or mom or even sibling. When your sponsor isn't a parent then you need to be extra convincing that the sponsorship is credible. One way to show credibility of sponsorship is for the third-party sponsor to pay your one-year tuition (attach the receipt to your visa application) and also deposit the CIC minimum living expenses amount to an account in your name (USD equivalent of 10,000CAD transferred to a dom account in your name); you would also attach this evidence. This thread has discussed the "insufficient funds" topic over and over. I'd recommend you don't make a desperate decision. My advice is that you should ditch your agent and apply by yourself next time. For more info, read this thread from page 0 of Part 13; I know it sounds daunting but you will be making this minimal investment for your future. The returns on that investment are very high. (Also, read my several posts on this page about addressing insufficient funds denials.) 5 Likes 2 Shares |

tommee:Forgive me for being blunt, but you can't blame the VO for not understanding the source of the lumped sums given that you didn't explain it to them. It is not reasonable to expect the VO to make the connection between your rent receipts and the lumped sums in your account(s), especially given that you probably had a ton of other financial documents that they had to look through and make sense of. You need to tell the VO exactly what you want him/her to know. VOs aren't mind readers. I personally think that the job of a VO is boring, and s/he won't rack her brain to make sense of your application if you don't help him/her help you. Apologies if I sound rude, because I don't mean to. Hope this helps. 1 Like |

thesoj: You give VOs too much credit and goodwill. When the fact of the matter is that many of them do such a shoddy work reviewing people's application. From so many application of people I have seen, it is abundantly clear to me that VOs don't take the time to carefully review the totality of the evidence before them and read carefully people's letter of explanations. In so doing, they miss vital information and deny an application that otherwise should have been granted. Sometimes I wanna shout foul and charge them with dereliction of duty were it possible. In the present case for example, they stated that he seemed to be sponsored by "himself, a parent or third party." This tires me. Which one is it? A straight look at the column on the form that asks the question of who will be responsible for his educational expenses, should have given the VO a clue or the answer to who exactly is sponsoring the candidate. See what I am talking about? 3 Likes |

You are right, and I generally hold your exact opinion. And this is the reason why I think that every applicant should prepare his TRV app with the assumption that the VO will be drunk and grouchy when reviewing his/her TRV application. As a result, my view is that the applicant should make everything abundantly clear to a fault. And this may mean repeating the most critical information more than once, in strategic documents & explanations within the application. jnyuwa02: 5 Likes |

Bro such an in flow has not been noticedbin the history of that account, suddenly a huge inflow of 4.6m just paid in a month, that was the VO point of attraction...he never noticed such huge in flow in that account for previous month, that was what raised a red flag.. That is what I think...thanks. jnyuwa02: |

Instead of having a lump sum and looking for way to justify it or clarify it to the VO mentioning it on SOP and LOE ,why don't you avoid such lump sum, when you know very well how this people review document, the are over millions of people applying for a little space,so bro come up with an unquestionable application and don't give the VO and loop hole to check..thanks ...I hardly comment here, I js dey observe but this was also my case, that is what got my attention to talk here.have a nice weekend. osento: |

I need your help. I want my wife to do her Masters or PGD in Toronto, Canada and I want to accompany her with my kids but I will come back to Nigeria and leave her with the kids there, so my question is can we apply for visa at same time, I mean can she apply with us at same time or will she apply first then after me and the kids apply. We are thinking of first applying for A visitors Visa then after she apply for study permit. I have 2 kids, 1 a USA passport holder and 2yrs while another a 5 year old Nigerian Passport Holder. Again she is 30 yrs and a recent B.Business Admin Graduate from a Malaysian University with 3.01CGPA. Our Travel History, USA, Paris, Malaysia. We have valid US and Paris Visa. I will be her sponsor as a Husband and I have ties like 2 rental properties , a twin duplex and 4 blocks of flats with 600k per year for the flats and 1.3m for the duplex, have a balance of 14m and a domiciliary of 2k usd. Again if any body knows any college or university in toronto that will help, we only apply to university of toronto for healthcare administration. God bless |

osento: How can one see the 4.6m inflow when the payment comes yearly and you any use 6month statement of account. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by osento(m): 10:49am On Nov 04, 2017 |
What I mean by that was, for the 6minths SOA such a high inflow was not recorded, and just 1month to submission of application ,you had an inflow of 4.6m and he submitted 7.8m. To me I won't pull such stunt, you simply gave the VO more attention to your SOA.. To me its really questionable... And u going ahead to clarify it, it shows a sign of something is fishy ... Start building your account prior to the 6months showing steady inflow and outflow.. To me that lump sum messed up the whole process. Sharles: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by jnyuwa02: 11:04am On Nov 04, 2017 |
osento: This is not a problem as long as you explain the sources, which he did! The VO was simply suffering from an attention deficit and common decency to read his explanations. 1 Like |
