You can't time the market. The bear you are waiting may come or may not come.

First Bank at a current market capitalisation of N250 billion still looks cheap all things being equal.
I think a number of stocks are yet to be approximately priced.

Some stocks can be expensive even in a bear market, while some can be very cheap in a bull market.

All stocks are still cheap. When some were at this level in 2014, dollar was 160 naira; do the calculations grin

@currentprice.Did you notice that CAVERTON PLC did not make any profit in July,August and september?
it reflected in their 9 months result. It is the same problem UBA had in their 9 months result. It is a thing of concern but lets believe that the new contract awarded to them for 5 years will boost their revenue and profit like never before.I am having a good time now to make more researches(weekend things)

i can't remember bros, but i think their half year eps was 18k and Q3 was 30 something, i will go and check my bedsheet again grin

A number of stocks are still cheap. Just that some people are still waiting for the grand bear and trying to time the market.

I took a look at dow jones industrial average and I notice it has been on a continuous run since 2009 and has tripled.

bullish run from 1988-2000 (11,000 plus), crash
bullish run from 2003-2007 (13,000 plus), crash
bullish run from 2009-date (from 7,000 to 23,000 plus), .......when? I think within the next three years

Wise ones like Zuckerberg are already doing some cashing out

Thank you bro.I am sorry you bought caverton when the numbers were not up to expectations. The numbers i am seeing today and that of yesterday shows the company is progressing.I am only worried because of the profit drop in july to september 2017 as against that of 2016 july to september.

I would have put the stock on a support @ 2.00 and a resistance @ 2.50 but now let it go to a support @ 1.50 pending on when the Q4 result will be out.

Both NEM and CAVERTON has same class now but i prefer to buy CAVERTON and I will buy it.Just need a little push down in price.

Bro,if all is well, skye bank wouldnt have pulled out to become a national bank. All is not well with Diamond bank.
The reason why people are buying it now is because the divestment will certainly reflect in their financial yr end result thereby improving their bottomline line.If i have the opportunity to buy now,i will buy but not above 1.00 because they really need to show us what achievements they used the money to achieve. If their Q1 result shows great improvement, the price will rally again.just my opinion though.

So I had a look at the report. I really do not understand fully their business model.
However as you noted, why is the company not making any revenue at all? Only the group recorded revenue. What is the business of the company and what are the businesses of the group?
The bulk of the revenue recorded was from helicopter/airplane contract; what does that mean? I really do not understand their business sha

Let me first laugh small.
I am enjoying this caverton convesations now.
we are trading on caverton group and the group has two subsidiaries......the helicopter and the marine.
The marine subsidiary is like Japaul oil.No profit is coming out from the department.
The helicopters is where they are making the real money to boost their revenue and profit in the group.
That is why i say it is a thing of concern.Well my own is to chop from the numbers i am seeing now.i know in no distance time, the numbers may varnish leaving the shareholders confused.I dont love any stock but i now trade on the numbers i am seeing.

My brother.i cant be confused in studying accts.look well naw.compare july to september 2017 to july to sept 2016 and dont compare january to september 2017 .I see value by year end,the group will record more than 100% profit againt the loss they made in 2016.

Note:It is the financial yr end result i am believing to impact on the share price positively not the 9 months result.
Hence,i am not in rush to buy it now.i know the price will still drop again because of the july to sept numbers(loss)

UBA and LINKAGE has exactly this problem now (poor july to sept 2017 results) but UBA will excel now because of the huge money they invested in Tbill and also cancellation of more than 2B shares in float.

Hi, I cant see any number here o. The finance cost is not encouraging. Revenue YoY is no improvement. positive EPS is coming from expense management YOY. Not exciting. It may go up because majority of stocks are bullish. It does not worth my money. More so this market being serve is contracting, hope things take shape in O&G industry. Price of oil is going up without a correspondence increase in activities.

2016 was a very good year for ASL profit wise + their share price was only about 2 + ASL was coming from a loss position in 2015, they haven't been able to replicate that performance this year and in actual fact it is currently an over priced stock IMO.

I am not sure there's any similarity between ASL's situation in 2016 and Caverton now
