IF YOU LOVE OIL DOWNSTREAM, BETTER TIME TO START ACCUMULATING MOBIL IS NOW! ...With the stock reaching 2 year low last week at 142 Naira, forming a bullish pin-bar couple with accumulation ongoing, technically, a good buy for long term investing is just now. Only God knows the billions of Naira, invested in private placements during the bull run of 2003 to 2007 Only God knows the billions that are still trapped in those private placements that took place about 10 years ago. Guys be careful of penny stocks. 2 Likes |

I like the constructive analysis on Caverton offshore group so far...It is very healthy for this forum. Yours truly is still crunching numbers and calibrating non-financial information available on the coy....From my review so far, my concerns are; weak liquidity, growing debt portfolio, chairman's drawings, corporate governance, unprofitable subsidiaries and huge exposure to oil and gas risk. On the flip side, here are the upsides; I saw consistency in dividend payment for almost six years, increase in revenue, cost pruning and return to profitability. Hope to make FID after my review. |

Agbalowomeri: I know. The banking consolidation and insurance consolidation led to pumping of stock prices. Manufacturing stocks enjoy capital appreciation between 2007 and 2017. The major losers are banking and insurance stocks. 1 Like |

emmanuelewumi: But Banking stocks like First Bank which was around N50 in 2007 is now N7. Intercontinental Bank which sold for N35 is now dead. Insurance stocks which sold for between N3 and N7 in 2007, most are now selling at an average price of 50k. 1 Like |

currentprice: GOOD DAY SIR CURRENT PRICE, HOW ARE U TODAY? I THINK WE BOTH KNOW THAT FUNDAMENTAL STRENGTH IS NOT THE ONLY FACTOR THAT CAN MAKE THE PRICE OF A STOCK SOAR. THERE CAN ALSO BE SO MUCH STRENGTH IN OTHER KEY DETERMINANTS ESPECIALLY AS IT RELATES TO THE NIGERIAN INVESTMRNT TERRAIN. THAT SAID, I KNOW THAT U MY BOSS IS VERY MUCH A 'FUNDAMENTAL PERSON', AND I RESPECT U SO MUCH FOR THAT. HOWEVER, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CLARITY, I HAVE TO SAY THAT MY INCLUSION OF THOSE 3 STOCKS (CHAMPION BREWERIES, NAHCO AND FCMB) U MENTIONED WAS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING; FOR CHAMPION BREWERIES; THIS IS BASED ON A TIP OFF I GOT FROM A SOURCE I CONSIDER RELIABLE ENOUGH OF AN EXPECTED UPCOMING NEWS WHICH CAN IMPACT POSITIVELY ON THE STOCK (Pls I do not intend to explain anything). THIS IS ONLY A TIP. FOR NAHCO; WELL, I CAN ONLY SAY THAT I BELIEVE THAT MANAGEMENT HAS BEEN DOING A FEW THINGS RIGHT LATELY. (Again this is only a tip). FOR FCMB; I BELIEVE THAT Q3 RESULT WILL MEET EXPECTATIONS. ...WITH A POSSIBLE GROWTH Q/Q AND YR/YR. (Again this is purely based on an analytically adopted strategy). TECHNICALLY, I ALSO THINK THE STOCK IS WITHIN BOUNDARIES OF A GOOD ENTRY POINT. THE OTHER 9 STOCK RECOMMENDATIONS ARE PURELY BASED ON THEIR RELATIVE FUNDAMENTAL STRENGTH. IN ALL, THIS IS JUST ME DOING SOME RANDOM THINKING IN MY HUMBLE ABODE. NOTE: ONEGENTLEGUY IS JUST A SMALL BOY. ...AND JUST LIKE EVERY NORMAL HUMAN, HE TOO CAN MAKE MISTAKES. PLS KINDLY DO WELL TO READ MY SIGNATURE BELOW. 3 Likes |

K Coolcash1: Just trying to let us know that some stocks and sectors could be very cheap during the bull era, while some could be expensive during the bear market. The average PE of banking stocks in 2007 was close to 30, same with Insurance stocks. 1 Like |

sky2891: http://www.nse.com.ng/Financial_NewsDocs/20023_CADBURY_NIG_-_9_MONTHS_SEPT_2017_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_OCTOBER_2017.pdf Google for Dividend history. However don't base your decision on the lack of dividend for the past few years following Bunmi Oni's (former MD)exit. Cadbury is a stock to watch from year 2018. Q3 is a tell tale. |

Coolcash1: Several warnings on liquidity already. I don't bother about stocks like this any longer. Except you want to go long. How much do you think you can invest in this stock and exit safely without stories? I have been there before. Watch your exit extend over a week at a good price. You won't be the only one looking to sell then, trust me. 2 Likes |
