Hello family, this is urgent I need your help I got admission to IBT college in Canada to study business management and entrepreneurship (diploma).I had B.Tech in computer engineering in Nigeria. But the reason why I applied for that diploma is to improve my business skills after which I would apply for an MBA in Canada after I have gotten enough experience running a company. I have a registered startup software company in Nigeria. Can I proceed? thanks guys |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by maziude: 11:01pm On Nov 05, 2017 |
Temidjoy: Boss, We cannot tell you to proceed neither can we tell you not to. All we can say is put up a good application, pray and hope that VO sees things your way. Having a start up company ain't a guarantee that you would return to Nigeria(from the VO's point of view), until you can assure the VO that spending all that money for a business management and entrepreneurship diploma in Canada (when that same programme exists in Nigeria) will help you, getting a TRV might be difficult. You could have just applied for Masters in Engineering Management (this covers both the diploma you are going for and to some extent the MBA).... The decision is yours though... Good luck... |

First of all, purpose of visit not cleared... You have to go a long way explaining to the VO..and what I see its really dicy... maziude: |

Paying acceptance fee automatically shows you accepted the admission. On the other hand you can't accept the admission without paying the acceptance fee.. Thanks toludadon: |

Madam, Though am not an expert but the following are my opinion to your questions; 1. Since your uncle is not contributing or has not showed any interest of supporting you with fund, I see no reason why you should include him as co-sponsor.. Co-sponsor means he/she is ready to declare some fund towards your education in a letter backed by releasing his statement of account or transferring some cash to you. You need to ascertain the above before talking of documents to ask him.. 2. What is actually your last name? If your last name on your current passport is the same on all your other documents including birth cert, then just get a court affidavit(from High Court preferably) for disarrangement of first name and middle name. 3. If your mum will be sole sponsor there are some questions the VO might be looking at like are you the only child, apart from the 6mm bal, what is the average inflow and outflow on the account.. If the inflow and outflow in the account is higher than 6mm , then the 6mm balance might fly.. Above are my opinions. JoseJonn: |

itengr: Don't wait for them to request the receipt because they might not. Since you have paid tuition, it is a critical component of the application that might help you. You want them to know right away. Scan the receipt and send to Accra Immigration at their email you will find on page 0 of this forum. 2 Likes |

TITILOLA88: Thanks, I appreciate the felicities! Good luck, the only appeal he can make is with the federal court in Canada and the chances of success is zero to nil. I will advice he applies and tries to overcome the purpose of visit by showing that he is a genuine visitor who does not intend to remain in Canada. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Larrybey: 11:02am On Nov 06, 2017 |
Thanks for the post but i disagree with the statement that most universities in Canada do not require supervisors. I have tried to apply for a masters program in plant science at mcgill, ubc, uni saskatwan and i have even applied already to dalhousie and they all told me i need to get a supervisor first, before applying. Right now i am still searching for a masters program in Canada that does not require the consent of a supervisor before application. Most universities in Canada that offers graduate admission in related course doesn't need you to secure a supervisor before admission but you can contact as many faculty members as possible stating your intentions but note this won't influence your admission. All new grad students are expected to at least have finished first semester and observed which lecturer and area fits their interest and strengths. |
