I second that whole heartedly. He gets into shooting positions a lot but rather than shoot, he passes. I dont know whether its Wenger's instruction or what. Playing both Iwobi and Oezil yesterday clearly shows that if given a chance to express , Iwobi will permanently retire Oezil( that's sentiments apart). I still maintain that Oezil is the weak link. But we know wenger na. E no get Balls!!

One thing is certain. those names you guys are mentioning have not been making headlines in any of the sources we have been sharing. We always make our opinions based on how we are informed. Feel free to share UPDATES about those players even if it means going to far away sources

forgiveness:

If you really followed the debate you should have known that tbaba1234 claimed Rohr was looking for a better DM because we don't have a DM who can play multiple roles and he challenge me to list any DM eligible for call. That was why I listed 4 players better than Chidiebere Nwakali in that role.

Later, thegoodjoe in his defence claimed Chidiebere Nwakali was scouted out because he has certain attributes the players I listed lacked but I disagreed by showing videos to dismantle one of his false claims that Raheem lawal can run with the ball. I could not get the video of Hope Akpan on net hence the need not to drag about him.

As you can see, na talk bring talk. So, stop chosen sides and judge well.

Obasi's problem has always been injuries. He performed well with Hoffenheim, and then had a spectacular goal for Shalke.
And he's stood tall against big oppositions. Moses Simon still dey learn.

Dedebanky85:
I'm not trying to start stuff, but truth be told I rate Obasi miles ahead of Simon. Have you watched him recently for AIK? Only problem he had was injuries. His touches oozes class, positional sense is very high, and he is very skillful. Moses Simon is just only skillful but not really intelligent. If Rohr says he wants to invite Obasi I wouldn't mind for one bit. It's just my opinion. Disclaimer - I have no stats to support things like lifetime dribbles, etc; it's just my korokoro eyes on what I watch on tv.

my line up for game against algeria

1. Akpeyi
2. Ebuehi
3. Ekong
4. Balogun
5. Aina
6. Mikel Agu
7. Etebo
8. Mikel Obi
9. Onyekuru
10. Iwobi
11. Iheanacho

subs: Ogu for mikel obi so iwobi will move into the AM position and etebo moves to the LW position. later musa for onyekuru. then final sub kayode for iwobi so kc will play behind the main striker.

reasons for my starting XI

1. Akpeyi gets the nod so we can get another look at him to see if he has improved plus ezenwa hasn't been playing due to the end of the NPFL league so he might be match rusty
2. i want to see how good a DM agu is the algerians will surely test him besides ndidi deserves some rest
3. KC needs game and confidence so he gets the top 9 nod for me

my thoughts on how the algeria game will likely pan out

1. i expect the algerians to seriously test our young fullbacks. will be interesting to see how disciplined and flexible they can be to cope with pressure. also like to see how much of a defensive shift iwobi and especially onyekuru put in.

2. raber madjer is an algerian and african football legend but i don't know much about his coaching ability plus its been a while he has coached at top level. i don't expect much tactically from him will probably just set his players up in the formation they are most comfortable with( which necessarily doesn't mean the best for them) and give them the ol' blood and guts inspirational speech.

3. as per the result mickeal2 said nigeria would probably lose. true it could happen but i doubt it because for the algerians to win it presupposes that they will shut out our attack. their defence is the worst in our group they have conceded an average of 2 goals per game. no amount of patriotic zeal or fervour will transform a fundamentally weak defence overnight. i see the game ending in a 1-1 or 2-2 draw

Watford striker 'quits booze' -Report

Watford striker Isaac Success has reportedly stopped drinking alcohol as he battles his way back to full fitness following surgery.

The Nigerian international, who underwent surgery to repair a knee injury ‎earlier in Barcelona recently, faces at least two months out.

Success has failed to live up to his lofty price-tag since his move from Granada, and a recent alleged run-in with four commercial sex workers at a Hertfordshire hotel saw him reminded of his obligations to the club by boss Marco Silva.

However, the player's intermediary has told a Nigerian website that Success will be a new man when he gets back to the Watford line-up.

”He (Success) has quit drinking even before the surgery, Success has queried himself and upon his return fans of Watford will see a brand new fit and hungry forward in him," his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.

"Success will be like a new signing for Watford upon his return. He is heavily focused and working hard to prove those who have always believe in him. In the next one month when he returns you will see what am talking about."

Mujtahida:

Read his last paragraph and read this your post :there's no connection between suggesting that an official be designated to build rapport and engagement with players of Nigerian descent born in EUROPE and you talking about undecided people and playing for the QUEEN. Your post is - I'm sorry to say - too superficial, reeks of ignorance and insensitivity and totally beside the point.

His post was about a player who he asked whether he wants to play for Nigeria. The player said he has not decided. The player’s reason was he has not been approached with Conviction.

So the last paragraph is a suggestion in respect to the complaint of the player. It is funny you want to isolate the whole comment and dine with a paragraph to shout ignorance.

He is talking of engaging with these players, so they can decide. Don't you know that is luring and making them change their mind?

They can go to the Queen.

Rohr Receives Injury Boost Ahead Of Nigeria Matches Vs Algeria, Argentina
Published: November 06, 2017

Rohr Receives Injury Boost Ahead Of Nigeria Matches Vs Algeria, Argentina Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has been given a much-needed injury boost ahead of the national team's matches against Algeria and Argentina, with midfielder John Ogu returning to action on Sunday night.

Ogu had been struggling with his fitness since he picked up a quadriceps injury against Steaua Bucharest in the group stage of the Europa League on October 19, which led to his substitution on the half-hour mark.

The former Académica Coimbra and União de Leiria man missed the next three matches played by the Israeli champions across all competitions, though he was on the bench against Steaua Bucharest in the return leg of the Europa League.

John Ogu came through the game against Maccabi Petah Tikva unscathed, completing all ninety minutes, and is set to pack his bag and baggage for the trip to the Moroccan capital, along with his good friend and teammate Anthony Nwakaeme.

Assistant captain Eddy Onazi is awaiting positive news from Trabzonspor medics after suffering a relapse to his injury on Saturday, while another midfielder, Porto loanee Mikel Agu, is struggling to overcome an injury and had to sub out after the first half against Kasımpaşa.

Nigeria's last competitive game of 2017 comes up against Algeria at Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui, Constantine on Friday, November 10.

I have clearly recommended Sone Aluko, I talked about Iorfa, Onyedinma as players that can offer something to the SE.

I asked why there is zero talk concerning Fegor, I asked the question why is he forgotten. Not that I think he should be selected immediately.

Another post I made it clear I wanted to get the discussion going on the forgotten Fegor. That discussion started and there are indicattions he has not been up to scratch. Has he improved do we know Balogun wasn't great when he first started but has improved immensely.

When players are talked about we discuss attributes ability and suitability.

Thee are some i will say categorically true quality.

On the question if national allegiance, yesterday morning I was at U23 training and I spoke to Nigerian origin player who has played a few first team games. He told me he was undecided buy he also said had not been approached with real conviction from the NFF.

I really do feel the NFF need to have some kind of official in the Europe as a full time job to keep engagement with players watch thier games and see thier progress. And keep engagement with them continous invited to Nigeria for various events etc to get them linked in to Naija.

The goodjoe this is the post I Seconded the last paragraph. Where did you see komekn mention a player he spoke to and the player he said he's undecided in this particular post? Has Aluko not been capped already?
And more so it was the last paragraph that I endorsed.

When Fernandinho played the Right back role for Manchester City, it was unusual but it did not mean he lacked the ability.

These are last season's videos cos that was Kayserispor. He's back at Osmalimspor. Truth is the Africans (Senegalese) that played Lawal's positions in hisnorevious clubs all moved on to bigger clubs. (1) Alfred Ndiaye went from Eskisihespor to Betis (2) Badou Ndiaye has gone from Osmalimspor to Galatasary. Why couldn't Lawal make a move to a better league? I personally have never fancied Lawals game cos he looks too heavy for a MF. Same reason I have never fancied Esiti's game.

Can C. Nwakali play as a right back, yes he can. We can keep that aside.

I do not think that news came from a source in the technical crew. I think it was an analyst. (owngoalnigeria people, do not vex, this is my personal observation)

However, the person made some nice observations which was not in my view.

I think Nwakali is in the team to screen as a cover for Onazi. For a long time, I noticed similarities in play and Onazi has become a big part of Rohr's set-up.

I also feel C. Nwakali's ability to play as a right back also helped him get a nod but I do not think it is as a cover for Shehu Abdulahi. The quote did not say that. That was an owngoalnigeria writer trying to expantiate on the comment.

The quote stated more options in other areas than the midfield. This means he can support in filling gaps in different roles.

Finally, I think Rohr wants to experiment giving Shehu Abdulahi more license to go forward and he needs a defensive midfielder who can slot into the space when Shehu goes forward.

Remember Rohr tried Ndidi as a right back and it did not work out too well. Meaning Ndidi might not provide adequate cover if he slots into the right role to cover.

Apart from Onazi who can play well as a right back, Chidiebere Nwakali provides an adequate option.

Let us see how it goes in camp.

I remember during the Tottenham VS Real Madrid Champions League game, some guys bickered that Madrid will bounce back in the second half and turn the game around from being down one nil to a win.

I shook my head and told them that it was not going to happen. I said they are watching Madrid from the talents on ground and forgetting football is changing from talent to work rate and hard work.

Lo and behold, Tottenham put in two extra goals. Hard work beat talent again.

Raheem Lawal is a baller. A true one. Gracious on the ball and delightful to watch. Unfortunately, grace does not carry the day as much as work rate.

Etebo is not as gracious on the ball as Lawal but he packs two oxygen tanks on his back. His work rate is phenomenal and suits the modern approach.

I do not see Rohr dropping such work rate to add more grace to the midfield.

Owngoalnigeria is a fantastic site. Very analytical and sometimes good in their forecast. Their only challenge is that they try to post their analysis as facts. They should stick to tagging lots of their work as analytical opinions and forecasts. Stop using anonymous source when it is a well analysed point.

If they stick to that, they will be a powerful source of information.
