Why no level III armor. I mean IIIA. I mean that the level most countries operate at?

Err,no,actually. Approval for gun ownership, especially handguns is still very very difficult. I know of a deputy CID boss whom applied on retirement -and was denied!? Btw,no reasons are given. IIRC,just after the Westgate thing when private gun onwers were instrumental in helping recapture the mall noises were made about finally instituting a FAIR national firearms bureau-nothing came of it.
My friend took me back in 2007 to athi river shooting range where there was a competition by all disciplined force(they allowed us afterward to try out shooting at 800m targets).because my friend had inquired about acquiring a fire arm, having a policeman as your go-to guy makes it easy for you to acquired a firearm.if only you agreed to give the cop you have befriend something

According to the recent 2018 Nigerian Appropriation Bill, Nigeria is going to pay in instalments for the three JF-Thunder. Meaning the deal was never cancelled only delayed.

Looks NN will have the highest number of New toys according to the budget:
2 LST
A hydro survey ship
1 x 38m seaward defence boat
3 x 24m ocea boats
50 flat bottom boats
1 UAV
4 whaler boat
2 tug boat
8 x 17m inshore patrol craft
20 RHIBs for SBS.

auto correct was on my phone. Why No III, level IIIA is for high end pistols and IV is amor piercing rifel level. III is the most common for mill purpose since it is Assault rifle level.

Someone told me about the navy going for a ship from Indonesia. I guess it's that SSV ( I guess could also serve as a LST since its a landing platform)

Their protection level probably starts at IIIA and then IV. A level IV body armor will surely stop a III right? So I guess nothing much, not like the capability is being lacked.

IV can be rather big or one use in some case. III is a good middle ground

The second largest in the budget is defence.

Let's say 3 JF17, NAVY 2 LST in which I am thinking the SSV from Indonesia.

What's the use of ONE drone and ONE seaward defence boat, if there's not enough money, why not concentrate on one this year then the other next year? and as if that's not frustrating enough, DSS are getting THREE, THREE different rifles: CTAR, TAR AND X95, why not just use one uniformly? Nigerian mentality nawaooo.

I'd bet the drone is an helicopter of sort to be carried on thr OPVs. THAT ONE SDB would be added to Andoni and Karaduwa to make a trio, uf we were bent on buying three at once we probably wont have one hull

All are the same.. its like saying AK, AKM, AKMS

This is also not new. The army in some speech early in the year did say they were going to go for 3 units of AS350 to start up the air arm. I think it was also published in Janes.

TAI ATAK, who will fly them, especially considering the unit is very new?

Buratai added that the Army authority had compiled a list of platforms it planned to acquire from Russian, American and Chinese origin including simulators and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

He said the corps would take-off with any platform the authority was able to acquire in the interim with the target of developing into an effective support to Army operations anywhere in the world.
