I may have missed a few appointments, but this list has about 98% of Buhari's appointment, and they take the same format. Out of the 140 appointments shown here, which represents about 95% of Buhari's appointments since he took over, 66 are from the north, while 74 are from the south. Looking at Jonathan's appointments, for exactly those same offices, only 41 came from the whole 19 northern states, while an unjust and unfair number of 99 came from the south with 17 States. Who is a tribal champion now between the both of them? This list proves that the so called worst of Buhari is miles better than the best of Jonathan. I'm a southerner, my interest is truth and justice, which is the only foundation upon which we can build a progressive society. No doubt, there are people who would think that because I'm a southerner, I shouldn't say these things, but how far has lies and deceit carried us as a people? Even with all the southerners appointed by Jonathan, his corruption and looting didn't allow the common man from the region to feel the impact of government, which shows that it is not where the person come from that matters but the content of the person's character. This federal character nonsense is rubbish, it stands in the way of merit and elevates mediocrity, it is corruption itself.

A blind man is blind because he obviously cannot see...you can't choose a better from both eyes, both the present and the past government and the one before that are all failures. a sane person can always see that undecided

What I still don't understand is how GEJ regime came to be a template for buhari's government. That has been the bane of this government. Always looking backwards thus they are always stumbling

I thought they say the clueless global hero of democracy gave all the appointments to the north and starved his own southern region?

Our biggest problem is not the corruption inherent among Nigerians, but the national amnesia we suffer as a people.

Me, I can never forget what we went through under Jonathan and can never forgive him.

Buhari is mostly hated because of his religion and his anti-corruption stance. But , do you expect the beneficiaries of corruption to celebrate him ? No!

OP has deep seated problem.
Firstly, he lumped all the appointments together but when he come ministries, he started mentioning Key ministries and non-key ministries. Offices are not equal and that has to be looked into.
Why did Buhari only appoint two people from South as heads of security, none from Southeast and the remaining 8 from North?
Can you show us the recent appointment in NNPC that was approved by Buhari, where there are 12 appointment to North, and 5 appointments to South,of which SE has none? what is your rational for claiming Buhari's regime CBN governor is Emefiele but failed to acknowledge Lamido Sanusi as GEJ's CBN governor?
GEJ you're comparing to Buhari stayed 5years and changed Cabinet members at different times.
All these appointees are only useful to their families and friends. Nobody should be perturbed who is appointed and who is not and therefore no one should bring lies into such issues.

GEJ must be a superhuman.
Almost 3yrs into Buhari's govt and the focus is all about GEJ, GEJ, GEJ.....

There are so many misinformation here! for example, ihejirika was not the last chief of army staff under gej!
that alone has rubbished the rest!

whoever took time to do this, deserves a pat on the back...

however, if GEJ was condemned for lopsided appointments, are pmb's supporters saying it is also ok for him to do same?

besides, the list contains some EDs in organisations with more than one ED, so it tactically brings out the southern EDs under GEJ & pmb & gives the impression that southerners are more...

furthermore, sensitive positions under GEJ were more spread out (e.g, security) than what is obtainable now...

also, organisations like NBC, SMEDAN, NBTE, TETFund & some others have been left out...

but for me, the big issue is that of the INEC chairman... coming from the same zone as the president is a no no

Thank you for acknowledging the painstaking hardwork involved in making this post.

On the issues raised, I didn't choose and select which one to post here and which one to leave out, this list is based on the appointments done by Buhari so far, I can't rate him on appointments yet to be done by him. We were all here when Businessday released that list and it was updated by the presidency. What I did was to make an independent investigation which any of you here can do to verify the information contained therein. That said, judging Buhari in isolation, he has already appointed more southerners into his government than northerners, something unheard of in the history of this country. And then Judging him in comparison to Jonathan, nothing justifies the overwhelming gap between 99 and 41, my eyes still can't believe it. Northerners were complaining then but we chose to ignore them only to wail now that we erroneously believe that same thing is done to us. Hypocrisy is a bitch! How can people wrongly refer to Buhari as a nepotic president when a bigot like Goodluck Jonathan is freely walking about and being called a democrat and a hero. This is the unjust and unfair nature of the world and we make it happen.

I expect nothing less of wailers, always looking for an easy way out when backed into a corner. Ihejirika was Chief of Army Staff under Jonathan from 2010 to 2014, four years under a man who served for five years, does the person who served for the other one year matter, especially when they were both appointed by the same man? Besides, Ken Minimah took over from him, another southerner, so does it matter? I would've written Ken Minimah even though it's one year if Ihejirika was not appointed by Jonathan. I did my research on this list knowing that wailers would want to distort the truth as usual.

once again, good job on the comparison.

I have never been too keen on who gets what positions except in specific areas such as security & INEC... because those are the two areas that I strongly feel have the biggest influence to manipulate voters' choices...

but if we are to dwell deeper into the issue of lopsided appointments, then recruitments into certain government agencies & parastatals would also have to come into play.

so at the end of the day, its all about perspectives... & like I pointed out previously & by PT, some appointments are missing, but that doesn't distract too much from the effort you have put into this...

The current INEC chairman and JEGA are the only two northern INEC chairmen we've ever had in this country. Both of the elections won by a southern Obasanjo were conducted by southern INEC chairmen. I think we should focus on merit and not where one come from, but if we were to harp on about where someone comes from, then the south has nothing to complain at all because we've had our own fair chance and we didn't prove to be any different.

As for lopsided recruitment, everybody does it, give them a chance at leadership and they pack in their brothers and sisters at the expense of merit.

I've always known that haters of Buhari are nothing but monumental hypocrites and bitter souls. Right under their noses their hero gej did much worse than whatever it is they are accusing Buhari of doing today and they totally enjoyed it. (the infamous comment of a certain afam4ever testifies to that, God bless the internet)

And like I've said, their wailing and desperate attempts at blackmailing Buhari at any opportunity keeps strengthening my resolve to vote for him come 2019

So these people had these portfolios for the 5 Years GEJ was president? Half truth is no truth.
We're taking about appointments, not how long they lasted in his administration. Azazzi was Jonathan's first NSA, but because he died and Sambo Dasuki who replaced him stayed for longer, Sambo was listed, a northerner. This list is more fair to Jonathan than anything the wailers can put up, unfortunately the man didn't help himself at all.
